FLORIDA: Orlando Sentinel Eviscerates AG Pam Bondi’s Claim That Hillary Clinton Is Trying To Bully Her

From the Orlando Sentinel:

Last night, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi went on Fox Business to claim that Hillary Clinton was trying to bully her by sullying Bondi’s good name in connection with the Trump University mess. “I will not be collateral damage in a presidential campaign. Nor will I be a woman bullied by Hillary Clinton,” Bondi told anchor Neil Cavuto. “Hillary Clinton will not bully me.”

It was a masterful distraction tactic by Bondi – trying to make herself look like the victim of yet another ugly attack in the long line of ugly attacks that has consumed this campaign. The truth, however, is that Hillary Clinton has nothing to do with Bondi’s black eye. Bondi’s behavior was criticized long before Clinton ever spoke her name. Long before Clinton was ever running. Long before Donald Trump was either.

So sure, Bondi can attempt to turn her Trump University problem into a Clinton-bashing thing. And for a certain segment of society, that may work. But this all started long before this campaign. And Bondi’s ethics will be a concern for Floridians long after it’s over -– which is why an independent probe is needed. Oh, and one final thought … and challenge.

Trump still has plenty of defenders about all this. I’ve heard fewer defenses of Bondi’s behavior. (Probably for good reason.) Still, among the few, I have yet to hear ANY Bondi defenders finish this simple sentence: “I think it is perfectly appropriate for a prosecutor to take big chunks of money from someone she has been asked to investigate because ….”

If you can finish that sentence with a straight face, OK. I can’t. And I don’t think Pam Bondi can either … which is why she’s busy talking about Hillary Clinton.
