FLORIDA: Police Agencies Investigate Online Terrorist Threats Against Wilton Manors Gay Bars [VIDEO]

The suspect is a gay man with a lengthy criminal history who is very well known to the South Florida bear community, bar owners, and club promoters. Via Miami’s NBC affiliate:

The Broward LGBT community is on edge after threats were made on social media. Some bars in Wilton Manors, like Rumors Bar and Grill, are stepping up security with armed guards in response to the online threats.

Wilton Manors Police is looking into the case, taking the threats very seriously. The FBI is also possibly investigating the threats. “He wants to do bigger than the Orlando massacre and he wants to come down here and do it in Wilton manors,” said Nick Berry, owner of Rumors Bar and Grill.

That’s no exaggeration. In the Facebook threats, a man by the name of Craig Jungwirth is using someone else’s photo to troll social media. In one of the posts, the man allegedly wrote “if you losers thought the Pulse Nightclub shooting was bad, wait ’til you see what I’m planning for Labor Day.”

The website Peacock Panache has been following the Jungwirth story for months although the terrorist threats apparently only just began. Read this post for a thorough up to the minute recap. Back in March, the South Florida Gay News also reported extensively on Jungwirth. Wilton Manors police issued a statement last night:

The Wilton Manors Police Department (WMPD) takes all matters seriously especially when someone threatens the lives of the Wilton Manors Community to include our residents, business owners/employees, visitors, and the surrounding communities.

The Wilton Manors Police Department is aware of this serious matter and our department is currently conducting an on-going investigation on this matter and the individual(s) involved. Due to the on-going investigation we are unable to provide any details about the investigation and what current information our department has learned about this matter and the individual(s) involved at this time.

Please know that our Police Officers and Detectives are thoroughly investigating this serious matter and we ask the community to continue to contact local law enforcement officials should they hear or see any other additional posts on Social Media/new threats made by these individual(s) or anyone else.

I hope they are able to locate him and arrest him before he can do anything.

  • Rebecca Gardner

The world has gone completely mad.
We need a good plague to wipe out about 4-5 Billion people. Only way to save the planet and the human race.

    • TuuxKabin
    • Rolf

Sadly, I have to agree with you. While our numbers have enabled us to achieve the almost miraculous in some ways, we have also become a very successful parasitic disease on this poor planet, and our own worst enemy.

    • shellback

I hate to admit it, but I agree with you. Of course, if Donnie Turnip wins, we can expect him to push the button and wipe us all out.

    • another_steve

The only survivors would be the cats, and then all hell would really break out.

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

Unfortunately, a plague (though a favorite tool of angry gawds) is an indiscriminate killer. I prefer an old-fashioned rapture as the best way to rid the Earth of surplus bigots and idiots. And they get to live elsewhere with their own kind of folk. Win-win!

      • Rebecca Gardner

        Plagues are real. Rapture isn’t.

        • Dreaming Vertebrate

Can’t argue with that impeccable logic!
(Temporarily forgot this little dino has been a life-long atheist.)

          • Rebecca Gardner

            DINO?

          • Dreaming Vertebrate

Time traveling T-rex to be exact.
            Rawr!!

      • another_steve

Rapture is not a reliable way of purging the world of its dreck. Too many mistakes.

Jesus can multi-task, but processing billions of people all at once?

        Please.

      • Rex

I think you might be surprised at who God leaves behind in the Rapture. Those right-wing christian haters are going anywhere.

    • The_Wretched

I like to say that global population of a billion is enough. I’d get there slowly though to limit economic system transition. Imagine only having 1/7 th the pollution on the planet Even global warming would get fixed.

    • shivadog

Though I would never wish for someone to die of a plague, I have always thought that it is about the only thing that could save this planet. People will not regulate population on their own.

  • Mark

I’m confused. Is the pick the real mccoy – or the ‘someone elses photo’?

    • Todd20036

I’m not certain, but I’m guessing the article wouldn’t post a picture of someone who is innocent of all this.

    • OhPleeze

The picture above is his real photo, he was using a fake photo on Facebook, but his page was deleted last night by Facebook.

    • Captain Obvious

Here is the fake picture he used, along with some of his threats…

      • Captain Obvious

An MIT grad might use the word ‘solution’ in it’s chemical sense. Perhaps a liquid poison or explosive.

        • Captain Obvious

He has been known to threaten people with ‘heart attacks’, so I think the possibility of a poisonous solution (liquid mixture) should be taken seriously.

          http://southfloridagaynews.com/Local/new-beach-bear-weekend-director-s-past-under-scrutiny.html

        • Bad Tom

He does not write like someone who has attended MIT.

No one at MIT would ever refer to themselves as “a genius from MIT.” It would be extraordinarily crass.

There are certifiable geniuses at MIT. Start with the list of Nobel Prize winners. The thing is, as a student that’s who you are compared with. It cuts your ego right down to size.

          • Gerry Fisher

            >No one at MIT would ever refer to themselves as “a genius from MIT.” It would be extraordinarily crass.

And somewhat redundant. πŸ™‚ (I used to be a software technical writer for the now defunct Digital Equipment Corporation. I worked with a significant number of MIT graduates. And I went to school at Boston University, just across the river. How many smoots does it take to cross the Mass Ave bridge?! πŸ˜‰ )

          • Bad Tom

            364.4 Smoots + an Ear.
At 182.2 Smoots, you are Halfway to Hell.

Oliver Smoot , a pledge of Lambda Chi Alpha, later became Chairman of ANSI, and then President of ISO. Seems appropriate.
            ——-
            Tech is Hell

      • Halloween_Jack

        “A genius from MIT.”

        • Dramphooey

A genius from MIT apparently uses the word “trespassed” to mean “banned” if you look up his fight with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at the Peacock-Panache link above.

  • JoeMyGod

Back in April, a man approached me at Furball here in NYC, asked if I was JMG, then thrust a cocktail napkin into my hands which offered a discount for JMG readers to attend Beach Bear Weekend in Fort Lauderdale. I’m pretty sure that person was Jungwirth. The phone number on the napkin appeared to be his.

    • barracks9

There’s been a shit-ton of FB traffic over the last 6 months about this creep promoting bear events, selling tickets, scamming clubs and ticket buyers for thousands, all while casting blame on club owners and other promoters.

    • TuuxKabin

Volunteering for JoeMyGod escort/security detail. Where do I sign up.

      Seriously, Joe. That is un-nerving.

      • Todd20036

Somehow, I don’t think you are volunteering for the “Security” part of that.

        • TuuxKabin

Hey. I was only thinking of myself.

        • Octavio

I’m willing to provide kraft services.

          • Ray Taylor

Is that different from craft services?

          • Octavio

            Yes. We’re unionized.

          • Ray Taylor

            Oh.

          • Jerry

            Providing envelopes?

      • Stephanie Z

It’s only un-nerving if you’re a clueless liberal. If you have any other political ideology it’s quite common to have violence and death threats hurled at you because liberals are soo ‘tolerant’ of others. /sarc off

    • Rebecca Gardner

      That is super creepy.

    • JoeMyGod

I texted Father Tony a photo of the napkin the next day. Tony writes for South Florida Gay News and was able to confirm the phone number.

      • JoeMyGod

Found the photo. The offer was actually for “free passes.” I cropped out the phone number.

        • Dreaming Vertebrate

Be careful Joe! Stay alert and safe!

        • Rex

          Nice stationary.

          • Dreaming Vertebrate

It’s truly frightening!! Are the free passes so he can set up victims for his planned massacre?

          • Gerry Fisher

He’s not that organized. (I’m using “organized” in a clinical sense.)

          • Lumpy Gaga

            Nice counter. Srsly.

        • Rebecca Gardner

Have you shared this with Police?

          • JoeMyGod

No. Up until last night, Jungwirth appeared to be a mere scam artist. Anyway, I don’t think the napkins are relevant to the charges that will likely be filed against him.

          • Todd20036

True, JMG, but only because you aren’t naΓ―ve enough to have posted his “offer” on the page as something legitimate, and enticing some of us to go

          • Dreaming Vertebrate

Exactly. These “free passes” remind of this recent luring in Munich.
“The lone teenager who shot dead nine people and injured 27 others in Munich had researched school killing sprees and attempted to lure victims to the scene of his rampage with an offer of free food on social media, officials have said.”

            https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jul/23/munich-shooting-teenage-gunman-researched-killing-sprees-no-isis-links

          • JoeMyGod

I get dozens of “discount” and similar offers for JMG readers every week. None of them have been noteworthy enough to post in a very long time.

          • Lumpy Gaga

I bet we could get Matt Drudge to go.

          • Lumpy Gaga

            New T-shirt idea!!!!

          • Gerry Fisher

It’s just a weird coincidence that Joe crossed his scamming path.

        • Bad Tom

          Creepy.

        • VodkaAndPolitics

This seems like the classic move of someone who is Manic BiPolar. They get all these “business ideas,” which they attempt to execute in the most ham-handed of ways.

    • ryan charisma

He scammed us for Beach Bear Weekend last May.
Luckily my credit card returned the money.

    • GayOldLady

Everyone please be extra alert and on guard this holiday weekend. There are so many crazies out there looking to make a name for themselves that you have to be vigilant. Take Care JMG and Everyone!

    • crewman

A wee bit scam artist and a wee bit cra cra.

      • Dreaming Vertebrate

… and a whole lotta psychopath.

    • Octavio

      That’s fucking scary.

    • Lumpy Gaga

      Oh, stallkerrific.

Time to take down your face and put up Sam’s (?) bear in a JMG shirt. It’s never too late to do SOMETHING. Even small speedbumps can keep the compleat retards at a distance.

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

WTF ?? I have never heard of this fuckhead until today. He’s some kind of facebook troll ?

    • Donny Petras

Still hanging around bars and clubs at your age? Sad!

      • Derek_Franklin

oh girl, I think we know who the sad one is here.

  • barracks9

Constant Vigilance, folks. See/hear something, report it. And it doesn’t matter where you are this holiday weekend, keep your eyes and ears open. My greater concern now is that this hateful person will bail on his FL plans and head to New Orleans to Southern Decadence and harm many people.

I’ll say it again: Constant Vigilance.

    • shellback

G’Day mate. Please stay safe. It’s a lot easier to say than do, but you are right on the money when you say vigilance.

      • barracks9

Cheers, SB. Hope all is well. I will be firmly ensconced at home this weekend, avoiding the heat, humidity, and crowd – and recovering from outpatient surgery. Nothing major (fingers crossed), but we won’t really know until the full biopsy results come back.

        • shellback

My heart just sunk. I hope all is okay.

          • barracks9

Not sure what we’re dealing with yet. My dermatologist did an initial biopsy that came back rather inconclusive, so the surgeon is removing the marble-sized growth tomorrow. I’ll let you know when I know anything. And thank you – you’re always to genuinely kind (as are so many of our JMG folks).

          • TuuxKabin

Hoping for the best for you b9, and thank you for the reminder of vigilance not just in public places, but for our own bodies. Check ups are very important. Hope it’s benign.

          • GayOldLady

Keep us posted Barracks and take care.

          • shellback

I’ll be watching for your post.

          • barracks9

I’ll be offline all day tomorrow and then hope to check in Friday. No clue yet when we’ll have the results, but not likely until later next week. I’m a wildly impatient guy, so this is testing me a bit.

          • shellback

I wish there was a way to send comfort over the net.

          • shellback

Perhaps you should drag out the Singer and create a few thousand ties to keep your mind occupied.

          • barracks9

Oh, SB – it’s sweet that you think I ever put my sewing machine away! I’m actually in the middle of making myself another fun shirt (should be done tonight), and have tie orders lined up for the weekend. Sewing is my happy place – that, and cooking!

          • shellback

You’re singing (Singer) to the choir – so to speak. My machine is always at the ready. Currently, I’m trying to find this 1949 pattern in my size for the tight-waist jacket at top. Sadly, it’s been a while since I took a medium.

          • What is model 1 looking for/at?

          • shellback

A good time with model #2

          • Joe in PA

Best to you buddy! I just had my yearly check up on a growth removed last year. All clear, you too! Hugs.

          • PickyPecker

Sending you hugs, b9…and high hopes that all will be just fine!! xo

          • bambinoitaliano

Best wishes!! We don’t need anymore members here suffering and going through horrible illness. We need you guys to stay healthy and fight the good fight!

          • Lumpy Gaga

            Stay cool and relaxed.

And for God’s sake, don’t pick at it!!

          • Joe in PA

            Gee thanks mom! πŸ€’

          • barracks9

            Yup!

          • NancyP

b9, here’s wishing that the “growth” is b9 (benign).

          • GanymedeRenard

Oh noes! I trust this will be nothing serious!

        • Rex

          Sending positive thoughts your way.

          • barracks9

            Thanks – much appreciated.

        • skyweaver

          Best of luck to you!

        • Gerry Fisher

I’ll cross my fingers, too, buddy.

        • GanymedeRenard

Hugs and kisses (emphasis on kisses)!

          • shellback

You get your lips off him. I saw him first. πŸ˜‰

          • GanymedeRenard

            Ha! Let HIM decide. :-p

          • shellback

            I’m saving him the work.

          • GanymedeRenard

You do that while I’m saving him other things. Teehee! XD

          • barracks9

Alive and kicking here – well, not so much kicking, but alive and a bit sore. Surgery went well and I got to see the tumor up close and personal (kind of gross and fascinating all at the same time. It’s at pathology being fully biopsied, and we’ll know more next week. Thanks!

    • Mark

Would be nice to see every venue in town post this bastards face all over the outside of the clubs….

      • johncAtl

        Change “nice” to “smart.”

      • VodkaAndPolitics

He is very well known down here, he won’t be able to show his face without being tackled….

        • barracks9

Which is why we’re trying to get the word out here in New Orleans. It would not surprise me if he got the hell out of Dodge and headed this way for Decadence.

          • VodkaAndPolitics

I’m glad you guys are getting the word out. I’m 99% sure it’s all bluster, as he’s been making idle threats for ages, but you can’t take these things too seriously.

          • Stephanie Z

Gay people aren’t dangerous. That’s just your internalized homophobia talking. Gay people would never harm anyone and it’s homophobic to think that someone who says dangerous things online would be dangerous offline. It’s islamophobic if you’re a muslim so why is this hate allowed when he is a homosexual? The liberal-double standards are so unevenly applied it deserves an explanation.

          • Chucktech

            Oh, look, a stealth troll…

          • Gerry Fisher

Come back when you’re able to speak coherently.

          • friendlynerd

            Or better at trolling.

            Grow tha’ fuck UP !

Perhaps your reality check should start with a shrink in a locked institution ??

          • Gerry Fisher

Yeah, this needs to be national alert. He used to live in Boston apparently before sliming his way down to Fort Lauderdale.

    • Rex

Any relation to Constance Vigilance, renowned Drag Queen?

      • TuuxKabin

I’d take the name Constance Vengeance.

        • Octavio

I used to know a drag performer named Constance Turmoil. Her signature drink was a zombie.

          • TuuxKabin

            Perfect pairing.

A friend was Sister Mary Mis-ConcepciΓ²n, one of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

          • HeyYouKidsGetOffMyLawn

I knew a drag queen named Constance Cornhole. It was like watching Marge from “Fargo” as rendered in drag.

            She was fabulous.

    • Lumpy Gaga

Stop!!! Don’t say it three times!

  • MBear

here come the reich wing ravings about gay-on-gay crime?

    • Gustav2

No, no, no, he is white so he has mental issues.

      • MBear

I’m under the impression that colour of the skin means nothing to the loons who hate all LGBT for existing in the first place. They’ll hyper focus on him being part of our community.

        oh yay

        • Gustav2

White people don’t belong to groups, they are just white! /s

          • MBear

the white hetero christians like to categorize ‘the other’. The other is non-white, non-hetero, non-christian…in whatever box they want to put them in.

            skin colour is easy
            orientation still confuses them
the christian part? that’s just the batshit icing

          • Octavio

LOL! You must know our next door neighbor, Barbara, of Barbara and Claude. She says the exact same thing.

          • Brian Burleson

            Oh yeah, do tell.

        • GanymedeRenard

Yup. They’re color blind in that regard.

      • Rebecca Gardner

That only applies to straight, male, christians.

        • Gustav2

          OOOOHHHHHHH!

          • Rebecca Gardner

If he was at least straight, because he’s white, upon his arrest the police officers will take him to his favorite fast food drive-thru.

            It’s funny because it’s true

      • Jerry

        A “lone wolf”…

    • Friday

I’m kind of looking for any indication he actually *is* gay, he seems to be just a hater who put on a fake event to *rip off* gay people and maybe goes around hacking gay men’s accounts and posing as them for more hate?

      • Dreaming Vertebrate

Hmm, … sounds like he ripped off Milo’s modus operandi.

      • Gerry Fisher

One report said he had a boyfriend in Fort Lauderdale for a while.

        • GanymedeRenard

          Yikes!

  • another_steve

Yet another indictment of this country’s mental health services infrastructure.

  • Mark

I’ve stopped going out. I wish I could believe it’s going to get better, but it only seems to be getting worse.

    • TuuxKabin

We’re fortunate, as a couple, and are comfortable in our neighborhood restaurants to not have to travel to a high profile neighborhood full of crowd drawing places of entertainment. But I’m ever vigilant and ‘clock’ everyone passing by, coming in, hangin’ out. Became a habit when the IRA were planting bombs in London, when I lived there. Never lost the sense of vigilance / if you see something, say something sensibility.

    • Gerry Fisher

It’s not any worse than it was 30 or 40 years ago, IMO.

      • another_steve

I think the rise of militant in-your-face religious fundamentalism (which reached new heights during the Reagan years) has made things a bit more dangerous for our community, Gerry.

The toxicity and overt anti-gay violence out there is worse than it was back in the 60s and 70s.

        • MT YVR

My long standing theory is this is the contraction phase.

In my mind at every turning point of social thinking there are proponents of Old Way (OW) and those who want New Way (NW). As more and more people realize OW was problematic or hurtful or abusive or just plain wrong on some level, more and more people either won’t support OW but won’t deny NW… or will outright support NW.

But there comes a point as the last fingerholds of OW clench. And contract. And convulse. And get damnnnnnned nasty. The problem is it’s not assured the OW will die out. Sometimes it’s enough to restart shit and hold things in stasis for another generation.

I see a lot of fundamentalism as being in that contraction phase in N. America. I’m not certain it will die out but I suspect it will lose the stranglehold it has. But the cost will be more virulent, violent, vile proponents surfacing. Change has a kind of polarizing effect on ideologies. And if one is failing or not as supported it seems almost as if those following that ideology become frantic. Threatened. And grab any and all philosophical perspectives to maintain “I never changed. WE never changed.” THAT’S the danger. To me, at least.

          • another_steve

            Good comment, MT YVR.

I’m a believer in the wisdom and purifying nature of the Life Expectancy Tables. I’ve always believed that the reason we humans have relatively short life spans (considerably longer than they once were, but still relatively short) is that nature’s evolutionary mission is best served by periodically clearing the decks and starting anew.

The internet, still in its infancy, will change everything.

Information (good information — which will, in the fullness of time, replace the bad information that’s out there) will set us free.

      • Mark

Actually, it is. We didn’t have AK47’s and all this other foolishness 40 years ago.

  • Gustav2

What should be a profitable weekend is being destroyed, that is his goal.

  • It really baffles the mind. I mean seriously, I don’t think I hate anyone as much as some of these people do. And definitely not for something one can’t change.

  • BeaverTales

I could never live like this in the big cities. Random people threatening me with instant death anonymously because they can’t get laid, lost their job, hate the gubmint, or whatever…

I know it’s a cry for help, but we’ve all got our share of big problems, buddy. Seriously.

Give me a cabin in the fucking woods any day of the fucking week.

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

Just not a Log Cabin !!
You might go insane and start voting republican.

    • Captain Obvious

The cabin in the woods is a scary place too.

      • Gerry Fisher

LUV that movie. (I do like some Joss Whedon.)

    • Gustav2
      • Treant

I always thought the stoner in that film was incredibly hot.

    • Dramphooey

I assumed it was a lodge in the lake.

    • John T

Because there aren’t violent people who want to kill faggots in rural areas? I feel way safer in cities than I do out in the sticks. *cue banjo soundtrack*

      • shivadog

It seems like all the gay-bashing I have heard of lately has been in big cities, but then again most people (and most gays) live in big cities. It would be interesting to see a per capita breakdown of hate crimes comparing urban to rural areas.

    • Gerry Fisher

I’ve lived in cities my entire adult life. It hasn’t happened to me (yet). This is fairly rare.

  • Rebecca Gardner

OT but another day, another ChristStain kiddie fucker.

OK, I changed my mind about unleashing the plague.
Inject him with a few active yersinia pestis bacteria.

      • Treant

        Alas, that’s curable these days.

        • Dreaming Vertebrate

Who was offering him the cure? Not “moi”!

    • vorpal

“Hankins found his young victim by seeking out a single mother on a Christian dating website, according to the statement.”

And the victim (apparently not the only one) he gained access to through this woman was her seven year old child.

      What a sick fuck.

      • Todd20036

Not just sick, but devious. He had a whole procedure for gaining access to children.

Even if he survives prison, his like is entirely over.
        And he deserves it.

    • Friday

If ‘self,’ even. (If he is gay, he’s displacing awfully hard, and why go after women?) I’m trying to figure out if he’s had any relationship with the LGBT community besides trying to scam and abuse and threaten it, actually.

  • Bill Post

Wonder what his grndr profile handle is?

    • Dramphooey

      I don’t know but I’ll bet he’s a no-face.

    • Rex

      Probably not “Nutcase Scam Artist”.
However, his intro line might be: “I promise I won’t kill you.”

    • fuzzygruf

He uses GROWLr and uses several profiles.
Here’s a dossier of several of the names he’s used:

Holy shit this clown tried to add me on Facebook last week.

    • skyweaver

      WOW

    • ElenorRigby

Me too. Be careful adding anyone. He has a lot of fake profiles that he uses to get your info and friends list and will be watching for news or posts about himself. Don’t friend anyone you don’t know or aren’t sure if they’re real people.

    • Dramphooey

There’s a list of his large amount of fake accounts towards the end.

      https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dnj2kf7eNx6Ez7PPVlNfRbjG5-y_6-duCtDn7QK3dpk/edit

      • Mike C

        thank you!

      • AltheaTheCat

This is crazy! Thank you for posting it.

      • djcoastermark

Yikes, that is one scary read.

  • ElenorRigby

That guy has ramped up in the past few days. Adding many many “friends” on Facebook both as himself and fake profiles meant to get your personal info and friends list. He somehow managed to make his profile unblockable for a while, although that seems to have cleared up.

Now he’s spamming people’s walls with bizarre stuff or just ads for his non-existent “Beach Bear Weekend” where he’s trying to charge people to go to a public beach. He added a bunch of fake sponsors to the list of events and has been threatening people who talk about him. He uses fake profiles to friend people and then monitors what they’re saying. He even has been known to start conversations using the fake profiles. He’s seriously deranged. Dangerous. And people close to the story have been saying it’s going to end with him snapping and killing people for a while.

  • Rex

What IS it with people in Florida?

    • The_Wretched

      Bath salts.

Alternative theory – swamps are the dwelling grounds for Elder Gods and their servants.

    • boatboy_srq

It’s the water: heavy on the iron, sulphur and salt. Don’t get me started on what it takes to treat that muck.

      • Lumpy Gaga

Saw video of those turnpike sinkholes near Miami the other day. My only thought: “They call that ‘water’?”

        • boatboy_srq

Reverse osmosis AND desalinisation is often necessary unless you’re on public water. Public supply is better than Flint’s – but not by much. Invest in ZeroWater filters.

          • Lumpy Gaga

We drink store-bought distilled, exclusively, but many’s the day I don’t really wanna think about what they’re putting into bottles and putting on shelves given that they can get $1.29/gal for it.

          • boatboy_srq

Mum was faced with four options when her well went salt: new well @ $10k per attempt and a crapshoot whether there would be something usable at the bottom, desal plant @ $20k plus installation and maintenance, wait six months for municipal water (the same six months the county had been promising for over ten years) and deal with toxic water in the meantime, or move to an ALF.

          • McSwagg

You also have to be concerned about the chemicals that leach out of the plastic bottles/jugs. Bottled water has a shelf life, not because the water itself goes “bad”, but because the chemicals leaching into the water from the containers surpasses some maximum allowed limit.

          • William

Our well water here in Texas is sky high in sodium, iron and bicarbonates. It is technically drinkable after going through reverse osmosis, but the unpleasant after effects aren’t to be discussed in polite company.

          • boatboy_srq

I have about half a dozen white shirts turned beige from a single wash in that stuff.

  • Pollos Hermanos

According to the history in the stories (follow the links), this “MIT genius” doesn’t know how the word trespass works.

    • Dramphooey

I absolutely love his misuse of the word “trespass,” which he uses quite frequently. Everyone needs to follow these links; it is fascinating reading.

Not long after taking control of the organization Young (one of the original founders of Beach Bear Weekend) posted to his Facebook that he’d never received payment for the transfer of ownership and that he’d received a message from Jungwirth β€œtrespassing” him from all Beach Bear events.

      • Pollos Hermanos

You are tresspassed from ever commenting on JMG.

        So there.

        • Dramphooey

          I will govern myself accordingly.

      • Lumpy Gaga

Disqus now lets me trespass you.

        • Gerry Fisher

          Trespass me AGAIN!

      • boatboy_srq

English (language): c. 800 AD – 2016. May it rest in peace.

      • Treant

Isn’t that when you hand over a hernia appliance?

        Oh…no, that’s truss passing.

    • madknits

One would expect that an “MIT genius” would know the proper use of the word “trespass”. Perhaps this confirms my opinion that MIT is a voc-tech school.

      • Bad Tom

(grumbles) MIT is not a voc-tech school.

        • madknits

I know, I was being snide. I went to the other school in Cambridge. A very dear friend who lives far away, when we see each other, says, “How are things at the Little Red Schoolhouse?” And I say, “Terrific, how are things at that Voc-Tech school on the river?”

          • Bad Tom

I never quite got the intense rivalry between Harvard and MIT. Both are great schools in different ways.
            ——-
Though when anyone told me they were studying computer science at Harvard, I would wonder why.

          • madknits

One of my favourite (and best!) profs took her PhD in Chinese language and culture at MIT. Considering Harvard’s amazing Yenching Library, I would never have thought about MIT’s program.

          • Bad Tom

The most surprising degree program I found at MIT is Music.

    • Dramphooey

He also misuses the word “vector.” This was one of his nasty Facebook posts: “Free pass for you to BeachBearWeekend.com and FortLauderdaleBearWeek.com! But (redacted by me) is trespassed because he defaulted on his mortgage and he’s vectoring HIV.” The hell…?

      • canoebum

That is a common use of the word, trespassed. For example, if you are barred from a casino, the usual parlance is “you were trespassed”, which means if you venture onto the property again, you can be arrested for trespassing.

    • Gerry Fisher

It’s rocket science to him. /s

  • bambinoitaliano

Put him in the same cell with Chris Brown.

    • GanymedeRenard

He might actually like it. So, I’d say no. πŸ™‚

  • Bj Lincoln

If the nutjob will post shit like this and tell everyone what he’s up to, why take his FB down? I want to know what he’s thinking.
In this day and age, why can’t security video be sharper and in color?

    • shellback

That drives me crazy too. Blurry video with thick scan lines, no detail or contrast, etc. A cheap cell phone provides a much clearer image. There’s no reason a security camera can’t do the same.

      • McSwagg

The problem lies in the massive amount of memory required to store hours and days worth of higher quality imagery. The camera quality is not the bottleneck here.

    • Dramphooey

Follow the links. He is a stalking menace and he uses social media to harass.

      • Bj Lincoln

He can and will do that under a new name and profile. By cutting him off we don’t know who he is and can’t track him. Plus, he could be getting more pissed and spend more time working toward his goal.

    • David L. Caster

Modern systems are. It’s just that a lot of first and second generation stuff is still out there and hasn’t been updated.

  • Stephanie Z

This is great that they have found out that it was him. If he was muslim the police agencies would have been forced to look the other way since it’s ‘phobic’ to look at muslims in any way. But, isn’t this harrassment of a homosexual expressing himself in ways the community around him just doesn’t understand? They should give him the kind of breaks mateen got and his dad still gets.

    • Randy Ellicott

What? Get back on the meds dear…

  • SoCalGal20

He sounds sane…I hope they find him soon and throw his ass in jail.

  • Gerry Fisher

This particular incident is getting under my skin more than others. Probably because the bear community and Wilton Manors mean a lot to me. (The husband and I plan on moving there once he retires in a few years.) Grrrrr! And not in a *good* way!

  • mikeinrkfd

I will have to be vigilant if I go out this weekend. It is unfortunate that this guy ruined Beach Bear weekend.

Good to see you around, LK!
