RNC Chairman Reince Priebus Backs Trump On Linking Ted Cruz’s Father To Lee Harvey Oswald

The Hill reports:

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Sunday defended presidential nominee Donald Trump, who again linked Sen. Ted Cruz’s father to President Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald last week.

“He’s got a right to talk about whatever he wants to talk about, however, I don’t think he was every saying this was some of factual information,” Priebus said at a Sunday press conference in Philadelphia, according to the Washington Examiner.

“It was something he referred to. He’s talked about it, he’s gotten off from it. As far as I’m concerned we can move on from it.”

Meanwhile Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort says the entire renewed flap is Cruz’s fault for mentioning it on the day after Trump accepted the nomination.

What they do not understand is that they are to blame for why the Democratic Party as a whole is mostly center…

If “liberal” voters were as reliable has “conservative” voters, the Democratic Party would not have to rely on central voters to survive.

You have to pretty much rim a “liberal” voter for months leading up to a presidential election, to hopefully get them to vote… and because that oral service is not provided during midterm elections, the “conservatives” dominate in the low turn out!!!!

Eg. The overwhelming support Pres. Obama got to elect him in 2008, and then the majority of those voters do not bother turning out in 2010, leaving us with a gerrymandered rethuglican majority in the house until 2022!!!!

      • The_Wretched

“You have to pretty much rim a “liberal” voter”

I’ve been seeing you slam, insult and degrade ‘”liberal” voters’ for weeks now. There’s a difference between wanting a rim job and asking to not have your nuts slammed under the toilet seat repeatedly.

    • another_steve

If Trump wins, Sanders and his far left supporters will be to blame. That they don’t grok the damage they’re doing to the Democrats’ chances in the fall is mind-numbing.

Democrats better not remain complacent and dismiss the damage that’s being done. All it’s going to take is a few more terrorist acts here or around the world — including the terrorist murdering of police officers here in the U.S. silently being applauded by some on the far left — and Donald Trump will be in real striking distance of the White House.

      • Stephen Elliot Phillips

And they (far left) will say that the dems lost because hillary was the nominee and not sanders.
And they will gloat. And be all smug cause they voted for stein for revenge to throw the election.
As donald starts consolidating power due to republicans having majorities in congress.
        Kiss ur obamacare goodbye.

        • Todd20036

Obamacare will be the least of our problems.

Think monitoring Muslims, forcing them to wear arm bands showing they are Muslim, putting cameras in mosques, not prosecuting anti-Islamic violence, and of course, rolling back all LBGT rights.

Makes losing Obamacare seem minor by comparison.

          • Stephen Elliot Phillips

Oh the republican shopping list of hate and subjugation is long.
U and i have just scratched its surface

Look at the polling numbers for Stein. There isn’t a a ‘naderite’ movement going on.

    • marshlc

The way my son puts it: “The far right is entrenched in hate, the far left is entrenched in stupidity.”

      • Todd20036

        Wise son

      • Chucktech

I think I would have said the far left is entrenched in apathy. There’s no shortage of stupidity on the far right, and in fact, their stupidity is complimented by their hate.

        • marshlc

Heh – that’s more or less what I said to him – “Lots of stupidity on the far right”. His answer was that the stupidity on the far right was driven by the hate, while on the left, it was just stupidity.

The whacko far left that I know is far from apathetic. They care a lot, they just equate refusing to vaccinate their children with taking political action.

I know Ted Cruz is someone the party despises and is a damn trouble maker but this is beyond spineless and pandering. I bet the Rancid Peaches would say he believed in the flat earth and lizard people illuminati if Donald Trump mentioned them.

I think regular people GOPers should be put on the spot and asked if THIS is the kind of crap they stand for. Don’t let them deflect since they’re the ones who continually bleat how moral and upstanding and truthful they are.

  • OdieDenCO

“…I don’t think he was every saying this was some of factual information..” Pretty much sums up the apricot hell beast’s entire campaign.

    • William

Trump is more of a mango.

  • crewman

“…I don’t think he was every saying this was some of factual information,” Priebus said.

Of course Trump didn’t use fact. He never does. It was all innuendo and repeating things he heard someone else say, which he does routinely, like a 6th grade gossipy mean girl. It’s the sleaziest, cheapest of behavior, and it’s just shocking that this is acceptable to Republicans. I know the GOP has cultivated a following among, as Trump calls them, dumb people, but most Republicans are not idiots. How do they possibly support him?

  • Jack_Carter_USA

So does that mean it’s okay to accuse Trump and Priebus of tag-teaming Ivanka and Tiffany with Melania looking on in approval as long as we don’t say it’s factual information?

  • goofy_joe

How sad that loyalty to party is now higher than loyalty to country.

    • Stubenville

Sadly it’s been say anything / do anything to keep power with the GOP for a long while. They’re pretty much bankrupt on ideas on how to help the middle class.

Case in point; Senator Pat Toomey (R PA) is playing ominous TV ads about how he is keeping child predators away from Pennsylvania schools. The ads refer to a child predator employed by a school and flashes the perps’ mug shot briefly. If you look for it, the mug shot is from the West Virginia Department of Corrections.

Did I mention that Pennsylvania already requires background checks and fingerprints from any employee that comes in contact with school children, from the janitor to the principal? But since most people don’t know that, scare tactics work.

  • Richard B

Reince Priebus is a terrible leader. Though I am no fan of Ted Cruz and thought he was a scary religious extremist, but on the most basic level of decorum, making up lies and innuendo to smear your own, just how low can these cretins go? Do they have limits on what they will do if they gain power?
Whatever we thought of republicans in the past, the Frankenstein monster that rose out of the rubble from the republican convention I think is the biggest threat our country has faced in our lifetimes. With all the mass shootings and gun violence we have been seeing, don’t underestimate what a scared American electorate will do.

    • Hryflex

I’ve said it before, I know, but it bears repeating: Priebus used have this air of “Look, Mommy! I’m famous!” Now he’s looking more like the portrait in Dorian Grey’s attic; he looks like he wishes he could take a dive like DWS just did.

  • Stev84

As John Oliver said, facts don’t matter. Just talking points and feelings

Reminds me of “not intended to be a factual statement”

  • greenmanTN

The GOP has no moral center whatsoever. “Make shit up” is NOT a policy position!

  • Alan43

    Crazy is contagious

  • J S

Sorry to get back to the point, but Donald Trump is not the only one out there that believes Cruz’s father was involved in the JFK mess. I am not a believer in conspiracy theories. But if you read them a bit on this topic there is a lot of information about Cruz Sr. upon which to base any number of allegations; I am aware that the intelligence community has always known who he was and where he was. Unless you are thoroughly familiar with the verifiable background of Cruz Senior you shouldn’t discount what Trump says. And with that said, Ted Cruz was a douche who openly hates us and will spend the rest of his life trying to destroy us politically. Where do you think all that subterfuge in his blood comes from, and why would you ever doubt the craziness of the violent, foul father that continues to pull his strings.

    • Octavio

I’m convinced Cruz’s father is totally responsible for for faking the moon landings. All of them.

    • Gest2016

I’ve seen the pictures, and I know that Cruz’s father is totally insane and was involved in all sorts of extreme political mayhem. I don’t like Trump or Prebius but they have every right to put forth theories about a man like Cruz’s father who would put gays to death. I wouldn’t put anything past Rafael Cruz.

  • mark99k

“I don’t think he was every saying this was some of factual information”

“He’s got a right to talk about whatever he wants to talk about . . .” In other words, Trump doesn’t have to tell the truth if he doesn’t want to.

    • Some people say Reince Priebus strangles puppies while jerking off to snuff porn. I’m not saying it’s factual information but I have a right to talk about whatever I want to talk about.

      • Ben in Oakland

Ido t believe it, not for a moment. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to strangle a puppy and jerk off?

  • SFBruce

If Priebus really wants to “move on” from this, he needs to tell Trump to shut up about it. In case there was any doubt, Trump showed us what a small man he is be bringing this issue up at a time when he didn’t even serve Trump’s political interests, but Trump’s need to criticize and belittle anyone who doesn’t fall to his knees before him won out over everything else.

  • Mark Neé Fuzz

Just one more example of Rancid Penis being every bit as sleazy as Drumpf.

Any other candidate for president would be challenged to prove all the accusations and insinuations he makes about people. Trump just throws out those bombs without any supporting evidence. I guess he succeeds in sewing doubts in the minds of some pretty dim witted people.
