Woman Tells Trump To Get Rid Of “Hibijabi” Muslims At TSA, Trump Says He’s Looking Into It [VIDEO]

Today at a rally in New Hampshire, Donald Trump declared that he’s looking into replacing Muslim TSA workers with veterans. Here’s how the woman posed her demand:

“Why aren’t we putting our retirees, our military retirees, on that border or in TSA?” the woman asked. “Get rid of all these hibijabis they wear at TSA. I’ve seen them myself,” she said, gesturing toward her face. (The woman seemed to be referring to the hijab, the headscarf worn by many Muslim women.)

Trump responded, “I understand.”

“We need the veterans back in there to take it. They fought for this country and defended it. They’ll still do it,” the woman said.

The Manhattan businessman told the woman, “and we are looking at that. We are looking at that. We’re looking at a lot of things,” before touting his endorsements from Maricopa County, Arizona, Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the 16,500-member National Border Patrol Council union representing border agents.

This weekend I thought one of them hibijabis was riding with me on the subway.

Then I realized it was a Catholic nun.

Then I realized how similar the outfits are…

    • Hue-Man

Do you make a “habit” of riding with nuns on the subway? (I couldn’t resist)

    • madscntst

Careful, they (nuns) are known to wield deadly yardsticks.

One is considered freedom of religion and one is considered oppression. If we criticize religion and its role in oppression, we must criticize them equally. You don’t get to ignore one type of religious oppression (Christians) just because its Western. Trust, the Bible is as backwards as the Koran and the Koran has as many good thing here and there as the Bible.

      • Mikey

Nuns choose to join a religious order. the Habit is their “work uniform” (in some cases… as most orders no longer wear them).

A woman wearing a hijab, or a burqa, is not doing so because she willingly joined a religious order. She is doing it because the religion of her family/husband/countrymen insist that she wear it.

There is a difference, it could be seen as a fine line, but it’s still there.

Where we live there is a large Muslim community. The funny thing is, very few of the women (except the elderly) wear hijabs or burqas. The Muslim women we find wearing them most often are actually converts to Islam, and are often the most vocally militant about their “right” to wear it.

Since there is actually no official rule in the Quran about the wearing of the hijab or burqa, it remains a personal choice – except when it is imposed by a patriarchal society, or self-imposed as a form of “statement”.

        • Gyeo

That didn’t always use to be the case. Up until the Renaissance (and probably after) Christian women were also expected to wear modest clothing including wearing a head covering. That tradition was lost only because of increasing secularism as a result of religious warfare in Europe and more people being educated. But there are still Christians sects out there that have very restrictive gender clothing. Even in America, Christian women are taught to be “modest” at a disgustingly young age.

Plus, as you mentioned, Muslim women in areas where there’s more social freedom can choose to wear or abstain from wearing modest clothing. Interestingly, some Muslim women in Indonesia sees the increase of the Niqab in Indonesia as “Arab Cultural Imperialism” because even after the conversion of the islands to Islam, modest clothing were not mandatory because of the tropical environment.

My point still stands though. The Bible is as sexist as the Koran. And it can be cherry-picked like the Koran. The major reason people see it as more acceptable is because the Bible is associated with the West while the Koran is associated with the East. They should be rejected equally because of their contents, not because of who believes in them.

          • cleos_mom

Up until the Renaissance (and probably after) Christian women were also expected to wear modest clothing including wearing a head covering.

In most Western countries the custom of keeping hair pinned up or otherwise confined and wearing a head covering persisted until after WWII. “Putting your hair up” was long considered an acknowledgement of a girl growing up, unless she was royalty.

          • Roy Biv

And by and large, Christians have moved on from that, have Muslims? No.

          • Roy Biv

And most Bible thumpers have moved on from restricting the right of women to wear the clothing they want, most of that 1 billion Muslims have not hence some form of head covering all across the Islamic world, not to mention actual rights.

Your attempt to be PC towards Islamic-rooted anti-women sentiment is deluded and dangerous.

          • DaveW

Wait, that’s pathetic. Saying Christianity is just as bad as Islam is not being PC to Islam. Stupid! They are both bad.

          • DaveW

Correct , but I don’t see it as cherry picking. It’s all social control but much of it is still accepted by society and we don’t see “no stealing” as bad(for good reason)

The real issue is that it’s used to
Oppress and we can have a secular society with norms and limits without the hate, mysogony etc

Religion is a lie, unnecessary and harmful

          • Rolf

When I was a kid women were expected to wear a hat to church, which I think was a modified version of women having to cover their hair.

        • DaveW

          Your example negated your argument

      • clay

Roman Catholic nuns are no more “Western” than “Oriental” Muslims. They both come from the the same Mediterranean milieu.

    • JoeMyGod

To be fair, the nun appeared to be from an order that doesn’t wear those heavy severe black numbers.

Which are just murder during the summer.

      So I’ve heard.

          • Gene

yeah….she would have been taken out by a surface to air pretty quickly….little nun bits all over the place…
            (sigh….it is a different world…is it not?)

          • Bad Tom

I would kinda get off on being escorted by F-16s.

The nuns at my elementary school wore the heavy severe black numbers, even in the heat and humidity of South Texas. We who were at their mercy figured that was one of the reasons they were so mean.
They turned out fine crops of atheists, year after year,

      • Ray Butlers

Saw a few in the Pride parade on roller skates. How bad can it be?

    • WebSlinger
      • Cherry

Well, to be fair, all Catholic women are not required to wear habits, just the nuns.

But yeah, wearing a “hibijabi” looks oppressive to me.

        • Sporkfighter

Europeans made the native Pacific Islanders wear pants. Are pants “oppressive”? Are they oppressive to the natives forced to wear them? Are they oppressive to the Europeans who chose to wear them?

          • Gene

i think its all a matter of choice….
most of the (few) nuns I have known only were “litergical drag” for special occassions (think of the Rita Moreno character..the nun, on “OZ”…habits are seldom worn now of days).
and…the hijab…in the US…unless her family is making her wear it, its a womans choice…in, say, Iran…you HAVE to cover your hair.
its all, as I see it, a matter of choice
when there is no choice, there is oppression.

          • Sporkfighter

I agree. A woman wearing a hijab in the US isn’t forced to wear it by law or by the morality police. Perhaps her family makes her, perhaps she chooses to wear it. I had a seventh grade student who started wearing it on her own. Her sisters and mother does not. That’s not oppression, while forcing her not to wear it would be.

          • DaveW

Yes but why did she choose? It’s a symbol of oppression, she chooses to take part. Some don’t. Nuns, some choose, some don’t. It’s what the symbol means, even if usage has varied by place/time

Don’t let softening religious strictness fool you that religion is not evil

That’s why we have the whimpy versions, peoe are duped into them not knowing they exist to make the real deal not seem so bad. Those people are PR pawns

          • Sporkfighter

I’m a third generation atheist. I have no use for religion. However, as I wouldn’t have it imposed on me, I wouldn’t impose my rational beliefs on others. If a girl says she chooses to wear a hijab (or a cross or a star of David), why should I doubt her, especially if I know her family does not require it of other daughters? And if they do require their minor daughter to wear it, what should I do? Lots of parents impose their dress code on their daughters. What makes Muslim parents different than Amish or Mormon parents?

When the girl reaches 18, she’s free to make her own choices, just like every other adult. I don’t see a way to address some people’s dislike of Muslim modesty garments while still allowing others to dress their children as they see fit.

          • Roy Biv

            In that climate, yes.

There’s a reason why people didn’t wear clothing in the hotter parts of the worlds. It was hot as hell, and Europeans imposed their brand of Christian humility on people who couldn’t care more about it.

If a person “chooses” something then it’s oppressive.

How many nuns, in this day and age, are forced to take the habit? Very small compared to the larger Christian population, and those that are forced to wear them are oppressed.

How many women, all women, are forced to wear some head scarf because of political and social pressure in Muslim-majority countries? A lot more, that is oppression.

That two religions are not the same.

          • DaveW

Missing the point. It’s a symbol. They are showing that it’s ok to be a woman and to submit to the religious leaders. Nuns today may willingly join but the habit says “you slut, no sex” and “let your man rule you, send money”. It’s the symbol

And , just like “could care less” is wrong, if you want the contrapositive of the actual idiom it would be “”could care more” as in could, but doesn’t. Or the original, cares so little, couldn’t less. You said they care a lot about covering up which clearly is not what you meant.

And, no, it’s not a safety deposit box either.

          • Charlie3

Here’s a rhetorical question for you (because I already know the answer). Does your post make any sense?

      • Roy Biv

        Ridiculous.

Most Christian women aren’t nuns and wear whatever the hell they want.

Muslim women in Muslim-majority are FORCED to wear some form of body covering because religion, politics, and their backwards society.

        • MaryOGrady

This is not true of all Muslim majority countries. Morocco and Tunisia spring to mind immediately.

          • Roy Biv

Alright, so you want to be a woman in Morocco or the US?

I want an honest answer. =p

        • DaveW

Sad, defending the original cult that brought us torture and oppression. Islam came later and had a good model to learn from

Christianity not as bad as Islam? Stupid. The only difference is temporal, and politics.
Christians are actually dumber than Muslims because most have more free choice in their society, yet they still choose.

          • Roy Biv

            I’m not defending any cults.

Torture and oppression existed before any cult, LOL. DUMB!

It looks like you misunderstood my original comment, idiot.

        • NancyP

Yes, but what has that to do with Muslim women in America? I know plenty of second and third generation children of immigrants educated Muslim women wear a scarf or wimple just because they want to assert themselves in US society. It’s their Afro / dreds / other non-relaxed hairstyle equivalent, their rainbow jewelry equivalent.

          • Roy Biv

American Muslims are the lucky ones, although they are more likely to suffer from social pressures from their families and community to be more “religious.”

      • The difference is outstanding

    • WebSlinger
      • clay

They could add wimple to the list.

      • ColdDesert

“permits the woman to see while keeping her face totally concealed” I have a hard time seeing how this is not outright misogynist repression. Especially since it’s old exclusively male imams making all the rules.

        • Roy Biv

          It is outright misogyny.

Some people on this board are being PC and constantly equating Islam with Christianity in spite of the fact that most Christians have moved on from their medieval ways and Muslims haven’t.

          • DaveW

They have not moved on. Still fucking children! We don’t have a shortage of disdain. All bad.

Look, we have a Christian apologist here

          • Roy Biv

I’m not apologizing for Christianity, moron.

Just that Islam is worse. You’re deluded if you think otherwise.

The Afghan burqa has been shown to cause osteomalacia, softening of the bones from lack of exposure to sunlight.
It’s not just the old men making the rules– young male Islamist extremists are terrifyingly authoritarian too. I think of them as the Muslim world’s answer to Eric Rudolph.

        • NancyP

Yes, the full niqab or burqa is repression. The common headcovering seen in the USA are the short hijab or the dupatta. These are in the same range as fashion scarves or cold-weather gear worn by non-Muslims, in my opinion.

      • perversatile

Thank you, this is so topical and legitimate, I cant wait to fuck with this one particularly loathsome designer I work with, the next time he says, “you know a head wrap shawl thingy”. He’s already scared of me because of pasamentrie.

    • Joseph Miceli

Joe, I’ve always considered both the hijab and the nun’s habit to be from the same roots of patriarchal oppression. There truly isn’t much difference between them except the name. Covering up women so that their sinful naughty bits don’t inflame men’s passions (because it isn’t Men’s fault that they just can’t help raping women if they get horny) is something that both the Catholics and most of Islam seem to believe. Interestingly, the Koran does not require women to cover their heads while 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 enjoins women to do just that.

      • bkmn

I’ve never understood why the christers are such prudes. If the body is made in the image of Dog wouldn’t you want to see it?

        • Joseph Miceli

Because SEX is a sin!!!!!!! It is the ORIGINAL SIN!!!! (Carmina Burana plays in background!)

          • Yann

I thought the original sin was knowledge (since they get boot out of Eden for it…) or murder… for what I know of the old testament, if you were a men, having sex as much as possible was great (like 300 wives for Solomon)… But as an atheist, what do I know ?

          • Joseph Miceli

Yeah my Catholic opening was a little shaky on that. Half the time it was knowledge, Half the time it was the knowledge of good and evil, And then there’s always carnal knowledge. You know religious people whatever fits the moment

        • Sporkfighter

Do you wear pants? Is it a social norm or oppression?

It can be difficult to draw a line where social norms ends and the oppression begins.

        • ColdDesert

You’re talking about a religion that has made it’s core belief/identity about being obsessed with what other people do with their crotches.

        • DaveW

          I do. It’s to
Oppress. We like sex, so ban sex, send money

It’s very simple, that’s why simpletons fall for it.

      • sherman

Ooh, look at Mr. Miceli impressing us heathens with all the religiousy stuff he knows. 🙂

        Meanwhile, 2 Corinthians walk into a 7/11…

I was walking through a park in Oslo several years ago. On the lawn to my left was a blond sunbathing topless, to my right was a Muslim woman covered except for her face. That’s freedom.

        • Joseph Miceli

The problem comes in when you get “modesty police” or “honor” killings.

          • ColdDesert

Yeah it’s never just “personal choice” with religious types it’s always about how many other people you can convince (force) to follow your whacky beliefs.

      • clay

Their “naughty bits” being their hair.

      • Javier Smith

I am pondering replacing the word ‘patriarchy’ with the word ‘misogyny’. Patriarchy is the stance that men are superior and, by inference, that women are inferior. Misogyny is the direct stance that women are inferior and, by my reasoning, is the more honest one.

Years ago, before 9/11, I was flying out of Dulles airport. I had packed way to much stuff in my carry on to avoid checking a bag. When I went through security, the woman working the machine, who had a head scarf on and was clearly Muslim, asked if it were okay to open it. I laughed and said yes, but wanted to warn her it was over packed and could – well, what word could I use explode? burst? As I floundered to explain she realized my dilemma and we both laughed. It was almost like we were both Americans.

    • Traxley Launderette

      Oh….

      That was a world ago.

  • canoebum

Why can’t I be Canadian? I am so sick of these people.

    • Hue-Man

I blame my parents for everything bad that’s ever happened to me. It’s their fault I wasn’t born rich. It’s their fault I didn’t grow up in a mansion. You get the drift. You’re welcome to blame your parents for not having the foresight to plan your birth in Canada. You know what we call Ted Cruz in Canada? Anchor baby.

      • Amanda B. Rekendwith

You know what we call Ted Cruz in Canada? Anchor baby.
        And asshole.

    • James

      You could marry one.

      • clay

Don’t Canadians have, like, you know, Canadians they can marry?

        • James

Yeah but they’re not averse to non-Canadians.

  • JoeMyGod

The takeaway here is that Trump is “looking into” turning over half a century of employment anti-discrimination laws.

      we are no longer shocked.

      • HAAAAAAA

        —-

    • teeveedub

That’s one of his canned phrases – “looking into it.” It’s vague enough so that he doesn’t have to state outright that he agrees with whatever stupid or hateful question he’s asked, but it also implies that he’s already on the case. And the rubes fall for it every time.

    • WebSlinger

      it’s true….

    • “No Colored, no Irish, no Chinese…”

Really, where does this unraveling of civil rights stop with these people? Seems to me nearly all of them believe America was ‘Great’ when it was white Christian men (western European ancestry only, not including the Irish) running and owning literally everything.

  • Kate

Ask Donald what he intends to do about our veterans who wear their hijab with pride. Let’s see him squirm his way out of that reality.

  • teedofftaxpayer

And his supporters yell at me that he’s not racist.

  • Tulle Christensen

Maybe retirees don’t work for the TSA cause they are you know like retired

    • Lumpy Gaga

Gettin’ that communist health care! Make ’em work for it!

Seriously, let’s take a moment to applaud Trump being Trump and breaking all those politically correct rules by telling Veterans to go fuck themselves….

    • Leo Tallant

LOL yes – Like I said a few minutes ago in this thread, I thought the idea behind retiring was ….. ya know ….. retirement!

  • TampaDink

I have a gut feeling that the woman in question has probably never been inside an airport.

    • James

Is it still true that most American’s have never had a passport?

      • TampaDink

I can’t say for sure….so I Googled your question. From a site called Road Warrior Voices as of Feb. of last year, “The percentage of Americans with passports is at an all-time high, and at 38%, up from 3% in 1974, that’s something to tweet home about.”
        https://usattravel.wordpress.com/2015/02/21/this-infographic-shows-the-percentage-of-americans-with-passports-is-up-35/

        • perversatile

‘Get your passport’ Is among some of the best advice you can give a young person, along with ‘stand up straight’

          • TampaDink

And VOTE….in every election….for the right (left) candidates.

          • perversatile

            Very true.

      • Tulle Christensen

well before 9/11 you did not need a passport to go to Canada Mexico or Caribbean Islands thats a lot of ground to visit without one. Nowdays I guess if you live inland US you can get by without one

      • Sarah Palin’s First Passport Issued in 2006

      • Mark

I did a little reading and it said that roughly 1/3 of the population has a passport. Not a very good percentage when you think about it.

        • Oh’behr

Alas, I let my expire since I’m on disability. I cannot afford travel any longer.

  • Michael Smith

I can see the job posting now. “Now hiring: The Trump administration would like to hire veterans to work for the TSA. Muslim hibijabi veterans need not apply.”

  • Daisy

Because being a veteran means you’re automatically qualified to be a TSA worker? I realize that that isn’t covering the discrimination being proposed, but it was something I wanted to address in addition to that .

  • Sam_Handwich

btw – if you’re looking for a campaign to donate to, New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan is running against the insane and vile Kelly Ayotte for US senate

  • geoffalnutt

“Trumpelthinskin” will say anything to anybody just to keep riding that wave. He said it right to their faces: “I love the poorly educated.”…and they ate it up!!! I don’t know who’s worse – Trump or his fans.

  • LovesIrony

I’m pretty sure that if a veteran wanted a tsa position they would be hired. It is legal to give preferential treatment to veterans, companies do it all the time. tsa positions are not coveted by job seekers for many reasons including drug testing, hours, pay rate and lack of respect from travelers.

    • perversatile

-along with sexual harassment from upper management,
      and fear of witches.

    • bkmn

And the TSA has been restricted by Congress to hire mostly part timers – less than 20% of the TSA are full time. Not many people want a part time job that doesn’t pay well and gets you harassed by the traveling public on a daily basis.

      • MaryOGrady

If these weren’t part-time jobs, the turnover rate would be even worse thanks to the rudeness of many travelers. I can’t imagine trying to do that job even part time.

        • William

Other than one guy at DFW, I always try to be polite and friendly to the TSA folks. The Dallas guy was being pedantic, so I called him a butthead.

      • perversatile

I Imagine it’s difficult to be pleasant when you’re being delayed,
inconvenienced and robbed by a costly ineffective intitutional process that’s mostly make-believe to begin with-
Whoops! I meant to say it’s prolly hard to be pleasent when ya got a shite job with no bennies and a buncha nob assed gits in ur face all day

      • LaChatSayWha

And harassed by the kind of mouth breathing, power-loving nutters who occupy the low-level management positions in the TSA. Apparently it’s nightmare.

So you can imagine who works there. Folks who could get jobs if they weren’t troglodytes and chronic fuck-ups, and people like the hijabibis who face discrimination when trying to enter the workforce.

  • Elsewhere1010

Said the woman in the ill-fitting schmatte.

We’re re-enacting the sumptuary laws, honey, and you’r getting burned at the stake.

In Obama’s speech to Canada’s Parliament yesterday, he recognized one Canadian Muslim, Maryam Monsef, Minister of Democratic Institutions:

“And we see the refugees who feel that they have a special duty to give back and seize the opportunity of a new life.”

“Like the girl who fled Afghanistan by donkey and camel and jet
plane. And who remembers being greeted in this country by helping hands
and the sounds of robins singing,” he said.

“And today she serves in this chamber and in the cabinet because Canada is her home.”

    http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2016/06/29/obama-maryam-monsef-refugees-syria_n_10745276.html

Contrast that with Drumpf’s Amerikkka: What you wear determines how good an American citizen you are and whether you can apply for employment.

Daniel Lessard, a longtime and highly respected journalist on Radio-Canada, the French-language CBC, said the President’s speech was the best he’s ever heard in his decades of covering the House of Commons.

Some on the CBC said it was a poignant defense of genuine democratic values at a dark time when they are coming under assault, in the States and in Europe.

Oh course she’s less than equal. She is not a white, straight, evangelical christian, conservative woman. Duh!!!

    Get rid of them?

Fire them to replace them with vets?

    You’re “looking into it,” Drumpf?

Try looking into the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which forbids discrimination based on race, colour, religion, sex, or national origin.

Oh, I’m forgetting–you’d appoint NAZIS to the courts, who’d DO AWAY with all the laws that make a country a modern, civilized, GENUINE democracy.

Like hell you will–not unless the people of this country have become spineless SHEEP who will tremble at the incoherent ramblings of an ugly, demented, know-nothing BLOWHARD!!

    • Dale Snyder

I love it when you rant.

No need to here with a tripe-induced “conversation” between two fat illiterate pieces of shit.

    • Treant

Honestly, I think he’s intentionally shooting himself in the foot, given the requirements of real estate tax breaks and blind trusts for the Presidency. He’s just making sure that either a) there’s a Palace revolt at the Convention*, or b) he loses to Clinton’s 350+ electoral votes.

      * Still less likely than not, but…honestly, this is a dumpster fire of nearly planetary proportions.

        http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/rnc-rules-fight-begins-plan-lock-donald-trump-n601801

“RNC Rules Fight Begins With Plan to Lock In Donald Trump”

        • Treant

Actually? If they don’t, they’ll shatter the party right now. If they do lock him in (and I still expect they will), they can sidestep this as an aberration and change some Primary rules for 2020 to keep this kind of thing from happening.

The latter decreases the damage now, at the cost of a shrunken party in the future…but they only have two choices and neither of them are good.

          • MaryOGrady

I was too young to enjoy the Goldwater rout of 1964. I hope this November election is worth opening the good Champagne.

          • Treant

I don’t think it’ll be that good, nor Reagan in 1980…but comparable to Obama in 2008? Probably!

          • LaChatSayWha

They are going to have trouble getting out of the contract they signed on reaping what they’ve sown. How are they going to stop the monster they’ve created? Are they going to start telling the truth and give up on fear, dog whistles and lies? If they do, how will they manipulate the low-info voters who have responded so well to fear and bullshit? If those people ever responded to reason, those days are now long gone.

Vets hate the TSA and are insulted by it. They don’t want to work for them. Trust me, I’m sleeping with Marine and Navy. I hear it when we travel.

Anyway, Trump has really done a wonderful job of getting all the cockroaches to come out into the daylight.

    • Skeptical_Inquirer

I heard TSA is one of the federal agencies with the lowest morale.

      • Rebecca Gardner

Gee I wonder why. They provide absolute no service nor serve any purpose. They have NEVER found a single thing related to terrorism, everyone hates them with every cell in their body and the the only reason they work there is because they could not remember the, “would you like fries with that” line at the drive up.

    • clay

Yes, unless, apparently, the backdrop is used metal baled for recycling.

  • TampaDink

Somewhat O/T: Drumpf finally weighed in on the recent SCOTUS ruling on abortion.
    From the Washington Post~
“Speaking Thursday on the issue, Trump said the decision would not have come down the way it did if he had been president…..
Justice Anthony M. Kennedy voted with the court’s liberals in the 5-to-3 decision. Contrary to Trump’s comments, the decision would probably have fallen 5 to 4 if Scalia had been alive.”

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/06/30/donald-trump-finally-weighs-in-on-sweeping-supreme-court-abortion-decision/

If he becomes president he will change math.

    • Hue-Man

“Liberal” votes only count for 50%? Female justice = 50%?

      • TampaDink

I dunno. I’ve always been a horrible math student….but it does seem as if Drumpf plans to suspend the basics of math…..and who knows what else.

        • Stubenville

Gravity is next. His buildings can be taller.

    • Treant

(checking) Nope, Scalia is still dead. Good.

Really, this 8 person Court hasn’t worked out too horribly badly (in most cases, those 4-4 decisions would have been losses for us anyway if Scalia were alive, at least this is not binding).

But if Trumpy were Trumpident, he’d demand the Court be expanded to 11 Justices and he’d instantly appoint three. 🙂

      • TampaDink

Wouldn’t he fire the problematic justices first? He could then replace them with retired veterans…..whether they are qualified to serve on the bench….and whether they want the job or not.

        • Treant

Sure, since Trump when he’s in the Trump House can simply bypass the Constitution. /s

I’m always amused by how ignorant even the Republican candidates are about the actual powers of the Presidency. I still think he’s trying to shoot himself in the foot and can’t quite figure out why it just won’t work.

          • TampaDink

He need to aim higher….towards that cotton candy looking sculpture underneath the stupid cap.

and when asked why .. Say It’s because the “orange slug” and his followers want it..

That’s just the Shia side of the crazy. The Sunni side got their boost when Aramco decided it would be a good idea to develop the Saudi oilfields thus making Wahhabism insanely well-funded. That’s where al-Q and ISIL get their funding from. Oh, and the CIA in Afghanistan.

    • Reginald Thorkinson

It’s like Rod Serling is writing the script. It’s so ugly seeing Americans taking such a dump on what it means to be Americans. It’s positively disturbing and rapidly becoming a trend. Trump isn’t waiting to become President to start some damaging our country, he’s clearly already doing it.

      • KQCA

Yeah, I hear ya. I’ve been out of commission of late. We’ve had a long year in our home, caregiving a dying friend. I’ve not given these clips and articles more than a glance during the throes of caregiving duties, but since our friend’s death a few weeks ago I’ve come out of my shell and am paying more attention to these reports. My god, they’ve all lost their minds.. if they had any at all to begin with.

        • clay

          Welcome back.

    • I’ve been kinda scared for most of a year now, and it’s getting worse.

Yes, Trump (and his bloodthirsty mob of supporters) are openly advocating ethnic cleansing in this country, based on ethnicity and religion. Soon to be added to that list? Expressing criticism of Trump himself, which he’s already indicated he wants to make illegal, starting with the press.

      • KQCA

Yes! At first it was so absurd it was amusing. Now we’re seeing these hateful people come out to support in droves.

      Look at Trump’s hair… It’s attacking.

      • William

        It’s revolting.

Sort of like Daughter, Let Me Bang Your Box”?

  • SammySeattle

Hello kids, today’s word is “xenophobia”. Can you say xenophobia?

  • So, instead of decent pensions, retired vets will just be put to work?

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

Either that or it’s off to the Soylent Green Factory.
      GOP “compassion” in action.

  • Y’know, it wasn’t all that many years ago when a politician would’ve been horrified to have to answer an ignorant and bigoted question like that from an audience member.

Hell, John McCain himself chided a woman who spouted birther and Muslim-baiting bullshit about Obama.

Now, childish slurs and xenophobic bigotry aren’t just tolerated, but encouraged by Trump. Others have said this, but I think it bears repeating: Trump AND his followers appear very seriously to be proposing a massive campaign of ethnic cleansing in America for Latinos, Hispanics, and Muslims.

And y’know, security screener for airports is a rather specialized job category. Anybody think someone trained in machine maintenance or as an infantry soldier is going to want to stand all day in an airport, searching luggage and people and dealing with righteously surly travelers for what’s basically crap wages? It says a hell of a lot that both Trump and this idiot woman think working for the TSA is something every retired veteran wants and has the training aptitude to do.

I’m old enough to remember elections all the way back to 1968, which was a horrible and hellacious year. I have NEVER seen one like this flaming disaster which is still unfolding.

  • octobercountry

Sooooo…. these people are more than willing to discard current laws that guard against religious discrimination. Yeah, like THAT’S not gonna come back to bite them in the butt. How would she react when people could be fired because they’re Christian?

    • I’ve never met anyone who advocates this woman’s xenophobic discrimination who truly believes they’ll ever be on the receiving end of such.

  • SoCalGal20

So would Muslim veterans be “allowed” to do these jobs? Just wondering.

    • Of course not.

      “I’m a veteran.”
“Okay, here’s your uniform, training starts on Monday.”
      “I’m also Muslim.”
“Oh… oh, I see. In that case, sir, please head out the back and get into the ethnic cleansing deportation van. I see you had three tours in Afghanistan in the Marines. Good news — you’ll be sent back there, only permanently this time.”

(I honestly have no idea why more Republicans aren’t horrified at what their presumptive nominee has been promoting. I actually do know a number of registered Republicans — most of them decent folks, even if we don’t agree on politics — and it’s like their eyes are just glazed over in complete denial.)

      • SoCalGal20

I think you summed it up.

I guess any Republican (even fascist Drumpf) is better than Hillary in their view.

  • Alex Klebenow

    ummm… OKAY THEN!
The tRump creature wants to look into… WHAT?
Making a LAW that ONLY Veterans can get TSA jobs? OR
Make a law the NO MUSLIM can be employed by the TSA??
    Either scenario is 100% UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
NEITHER scenario is plausible or possible UNLESS this orange faced buffoon dismember both the Judicial and Legislative branches of the U.S. Government and ASSume DICKtatorial powers!
HEIL tRUMP is the ONLY toast we will be able to make if this POS becomes President!!!

  • houstonray

OT (sorta): Just saw on CNN…Trump’s rumored VP top two list is NEWT and CHRISTIE. He could announce as early as next week.

    • safari

He should go with Newt. The two of them to compete to see how may wives they burn through in the first term.

    • Gee, a panty-sniffing serial adulterer or the unindicted organized crime conspirator and corrupt bully. What a surprise.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

Beware the jabberwocky in its hibijabee, beware the teabagger in its hover-roundee, beware the Trumpenstein in its toupee-thingie!
My gawd it’s a frightening world!

      O voters! said the Carpenter,
      “You’ve had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?’
      But answer came there none–
And this was scarcely odd, because
      They’d eaten every one.

  • RainbowPhoenix

So, Trump just said that he is looking into denying people employment specifically because of their religious beliefs. So much for “religious freedom”.

    • It’s “religious freedom” only for fundamentalist Christians, doncha know. Everybody else is presumed not to have a ‘real’ religion, therefore it doesn’t rise to the level of having special privileges that only the fundies get to enjoy.

  • JCF

Biotch, this woman is defending YOUR right to be a bigot!

Looks like the headgear women in my neighborhood in the 1950’s used to wear. Isn’t that where the Republicans want to be?

  • DumbHairyApe

His people seem to be looking into a lot of things. Can we get a list??? And, can we please be introduced to his research and investigative team?

    • Engaging Trumpanzee Translation Matrix…
      Operating within normal parameters
      Ready for input… ready… ready…

Input: “We are looking at that. We’re looking at a lot of things.”
Output: “I will immediately forget what you just asked as soon as you stop talking at me, you polyester-encased low-information idiot who better goddamned vote for me.”

      Input: “Next question?”
Output: “Cue up the next mouth-breather rube, but keep ’em the hell away from me, you people have no idea where their hands have been.”

      Fascinating…

Want to see what a Trump presidency might be like? I give you Rodrigo Duterte, newly-inaugurated president of the Philippines, who is urging a massacre of drug addicts.

    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/jul/01/philippines-president-rodrigo-duterte-urges-people-to-kill-drug-addicts

    He took office on Thursday.

    • I suspect that Trump would spend his presidency looking into things.

  • Lumpy Gaga
  • There it is again… that urge to give up atheism and become a Muslim just to piss off Tea Party idiots. Maybe I can just start wearing a turban. Since right-wing xenophobes don’t know the difference between a Sikh and a Muslim, turbans freak them out as much as “hibijabis” do.

    • Some guys really know how to make a turban look good…

      • rextrek1

        well HOT DAM…!!! WOOOF

      • Yum. My latest doctor at the clinic that’s my PCP is a Sikh, and is just beautiful. And friendly. And personable.
