Christian Pastor Celebrates Orlando Massacre: Round Up All The Gays And Blow Their Brains Out [VIDEO]

From Sacramento’s CBS affiliate:

A Sacramento Baptist preacher’s sermon praising attack on an Orlando nightclub that killed 50 people has the local LGBT community outraged.

Recordings of the sermon by Pastor Roger Jimenez surfaced under the Verity Baptist Church’s YouTube account.

“Are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?” he said in the sermon. “Um no, I think that’s great! I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida is a little safer tonight.”

The remarks were delivered on Sunday morning, hours after the attack happened. “We don’t need to do anything to help. As far as I’m concerned, Orlando is a little bit safer tonight,” he said.

Jimenez’s sermon went on to call for even more death at the hands of the government. “If we lived in a righteous government, they should round them all up and put them up against a firing wall, and blow their brains out,” Jimenez said in the sermon.

    whoa…already

“This video has been removed for violating YouTube’s policy on hate speech”

    • David Walker

      Thank you, people.

    • Mark

The CBS affiliate captured the video. You can see parts of it in their story at the link Joe provided.

      • AtticusP

        I believe I’ll pass. I just ate.

        • Joe in PA

Good choice, I DID watch the first 4 minutes…it was nauseating.

    • I think videos like this need to stay up. No one in their right mind would agree with the content and they serve to demonstrate exactly what we deal with on a daily basis.

      • JW Swift

When they become news due to the extremity of the views expressed, other organizations, like CBS in this case, will grab them and post them for everyone to see, just like what happened here. YouTube does not need to violate their own policies.

    • Mark

Yes, it was removed. Freedom of speech is gone in America. People would rather have someone silenced as opposed to simply changing the channel.

      • Robincho

If your mother made you pay your share of the utility bill, you might realize that not all speech comes over the television…

      • Delphini

YouTube is a private company and has every right to remove videos that violate their terms and conditions. Freedom of speech/expression means you have the right to create an offensive picture (or video) but you do not have the right to hang the picture in someone else’s private house (or post a video on someone else’s private website).

      • vorpal

Freedom of speech fail. Why don’t you idiots look up what these basic concepts mean before opening your yaps and making yourselves look stupid?

        • JW Swift

Yep, “free speech” only applies to gov’t censorship, not whether a corporation is required to give free access to people who don’t use their services in accordance with the rules.

          • vorpal

Yes, exactly! I’ve seen some really dense people take it even further than expecting to be able to blither whatever they want wherever they want without consequence to claiming that someone interrupting them or not listening to them is a violation of their free speech. I have really no clue where they get the idea that free speech includes the right to a forced captive audience.

  • Mark

Youtube pulled the video for hate speech. Now why isn’t the media all over it???

    • Jude Newton

Because media attention is what he wants. Send money! Etc…etc…

    • OSG

You don’t want to watch it.

  • Gest2016

When are Baptists going to be designated an official domestic terrorist hate group?

    • When is Christianity itself going to be designated an official domestic terrorist hate group?

  • JT

Why aren’t the media all over this shit?

    • Tigernan Quinn

The media is too busy deciding whether this is terrorism or “just” a homophobic attack.

    • David Walker

Because of the unwarranted deference given to xnty. I would like to pull a Billie Holiday and piss on his shoes.

    • Gene

they have long ago learned that giving mass attention to people like this is giving them JUST what they want. they are not playing into his pathology

    • Nic Peterson

Tony Perkins gets all the air time. He’s white and has ties to white nationalists so he is perfect for the demographic that consumes opinion based infotainment.

    • Todd20036

I manage to stay away from religious people. If you are a weekly churchgoer, it means you hate,. At the very least, you hate those who aren’t as devoted to your invisible sky monkey as you are

      • FloBear

I have to say a word in defense of my late father-in-law. He found great comfort in his weekly ritual, all the while being an out and proud father of a gay man, and a man who hated no one. But in general, Todd, I totes agree.

      • JCF

Has this clown ever looked in a mirror? I wonder how he likes it when racists say hateful garbage like this over the color of his skin.

    • Joe in PA

Ok, this is one time when I’d like to build a wall around this asshole.

      • Todd20036

And then an outhouse around the wall, with the toilet above his head, and place this in a fairground with another bathroom not around for 50 miles.

        • Joe in PA

Todd, you are FIRED up this am! Good.

Indeed. He’s Latino. Guess the race of the majority of people killed in Pulse.

I realize this is a comparatively minor issue, but it’s amazing that they are willing to sacrifice even their own minority group members to satisfy their hatred.

      • GanymedeRenard

See, that’s the thing. We, as queers, are a minority even within every minority. To this troglodyte, we’re all a bunch of f*gs, regardless of our ethnicities.

        • JW Swift

Also notice that he continues to equate us with pedophiles. He’s not only drank the Kool-Aid but has become a freakin’ vendor.

          • GanymedeRenard

            Exactly right.

  • hiker_sf

It’s way past time for religious leaders of most faiths to assume some responsibility and edit foundational documents to remove any text that is not life affirming to all humans.

I’m beginning to think that the concepts of ‘they’ and ‘them’ was invented by religion.

    • zhera

More like religion was, always has been, and still is based on us/them.

    • Religion needs to be relegated to the dustbin of history or this planet is going to end up a dead, smoking rock.

  • Sam_Handwich
    • Frank McCormick

“The Bible teaches us that all Sodomites are predators” — what Bible is he reading?

Also, his demeanor is bizarrely panicky!

  • JT

And this guy is Hispanic? Maybe he’s a Drumpf supporter.

  • Tigernan Quinn

Baptists are easily the worst of all Christians.

    • Gene

not to quibble…but pentecostals….especially the African and Latin American ones (and the Eastern Europeans also) can be far far FAR worse…sad to say.

I think this guy is an independent Baptist. NO Baptist seminary would brook his saying this shit. But, some of the pentecostal “bible colleges”, while not encouraging this shit, would turn a blind eye to it…at least overseas. (and that affects us. they come here, and go everywhere. The pastor of the largest, and one of the most homophobic, churches, in Kiev Ukraine is a Nigerian)

      • Mark

Seems there were a lot of blind eyes turned to it…..a lot of blind eyes.

      • BobSF_94117

“NO Baptist seminary would brook his saying this shit anymore

        Fixed that for you.

      • GanymedeRenard

“…especially the African and Latin American ones”

Courtesy of the U.S. missionaries, thank you very much.

        • Silver Badger

It seems that hate is one of the largest exports the wrong wing has.

          • GanymedeRenard

            Indeed.

    • You’re not from the Bible belt, are you. Yes, I know that if you were raised in a mainstream or nonreligious environment, Baptists seem extreme. But what you don’t know is that in much of the country the Baptists (at least the Southern Baptists) are the “moderates” and there’s a lot more batshit on the other side of that. Lucky you if you can’t even imagine. I have relatives who are all sorts of fucked up pentecostal and other types of hardcore fundamentalists where the women aren’t allowed to cut there hair (ever) and other fucked up bullshit.

  • Nic Peterson

Waiting for any prominent religious figure to speak up and forcefully denounce crap like this. Anyone? Really? Tap tap tap tap…..

Come on show us all what your precious belief system is all about.

    • Joe in PA

If you can stand to watch any of the video, you’ll see that he predicts just the opposite of this: [mockingly] Christians will be falling all over each other to say that their religion doesn’t condone this… [I’m paraphrasing]

He goes on to say then that HE won’t! He’s GLAD it happened. It says so right in the BIBLE. Ugh.

      • I plan on defacing/shredding every one of their BUYBULLs I find in hotel rooms from now on. In fact, I think Burning Man next year should feature a BUYBULL pyre.

        • JW Swift

My knee-jerk reaction is to agree with you. On the other hand, book burnings? Really?

  • Gene

this is incitement…he should be arrested

I have no use for Baptists…loath them actually..but, this is not normal. even for Baptists.

  • Jay George

No wonder I can’t sleep worth a damn. Evil bastards like this one are sharing their religion around.

  • Mark Neé Fuzz

Fuckers like this are making it awfully hard to remain a pacifist.
And take a look at the little shit. He’s probably stumbling home right at this moment after taking it up the ass all night long from any and all visitors to the local tea room.

  • bryan

Fundamentalist muslim and christian hate is hard to differentiate. They condemn us in the same way, but differ in the methods of killing us.

    • David Walker

And hate each other, too. Such religions.

      • Jeffg166

To paraphrase Lincoln: God must love the one true religion, he sure made enough of them.

  • Cosmo Tupper

He’s looking in the wrong places for pedophiles. He only needs to look within the church to find the greatest orchestrated conspiracy of mankind to commit organized pedophilia.

    • Jay George

They always project their own evil onto others.

      • DumbHairyApe

        1000% correct.

    • tcinsf

No doubt. They’re home schoolers, separatists, a bizarre bunch meeting in a business park….

  • Skokieguy [Larry]

Why does it have to be the local ‘LGBT community’ who is outraged? Why isn’t every single human motherfucker with a soul outraged? Why aren’t straight and gay alike and the faithful who claim to cling to ‘religions of peace’ in front of this prick’s church with picket signs and pitchforks?

    • TampaZeke

      HEAR HEAR!

    • Mark

We can hope that the locals voices will be in attendance for his next Sunday sermon…..

    • Wynter Marie Starr

I’m so fucking outraged I can’t write what I’d like as it is against the rules and my normal nature. I’m a straight ally and I agree. Every decent, fair-minded human being should be disgusted by these words.

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

I’d like to see tape of this pastor (and the pastor that endorsed Jindal, Huckabee and Cruz) rolled during the Presidential debates and ask each candidate to comment.

Mr. Trump, hatred of LGBT people seems to have played a significant role in the recent horrific shooting in a gay nightclub.

Please tell us your plan to address those that are promoting gay hatred and encouraging violence and murder?

        • JT

Absofuckinglutely! Drumpf needs to be pummeled on this and not allowed to escape!

        • Herald

Let it put this shift the blame to “radical Islam” nonsense. These christianists and republicans have a lot of blood on their hands too.

        • chfnelson

What does Trump have to do with this? He was on the news today condemning the murders, while Obama was on the news condemning guns. And The Don pointed out the Obama was more angry with him than with the killer.

          • William Graham

Great rewrite of what I watched. Thanks for pointing out love of The Don trumps reason. Your narcissist fakes sincerity without effort, so be careful when you believe him.

          • chfnelson

Obviously you failed to understand my question.
Why was Obama outraged with Trump and not with the killer?
Is that direct enough for you?

          • Wayne

Really, you’re not falling for a statement from Trump that the President cares more about him than showing his disdain for terrorists? The reason The Donald shifted attention to him is because ‘it’s all about him’, that’s the way he likes it. To have the President ‘lose his cool’ over terrorist activities is not going to get the Congress to pass anti-gun legislation anyway! If everyone in the country has not heard that Donald is a poison that needs to be exposed, then I believe it does require constant addressing!

          • eagle keeper

So, the left wants and champions anti-gun legislation huh? Question, what has any gun law done to date to remove any gun from the hands of someone hell bent on doing harm to another human being? I’m sure if they didn’t have guns they could have found something to fill their hand to get the job done. Example is in the UK when the terrorist hacked to death a British soldier with a meat cleaver. So if there is a will there is always a way. Guns aren’t the only means of accomplishing Satan’s dirty deeds.

          • elissalf

Bullshit. Bull fucking shit. Your man Drumpf is shifting the blame to a complete religion, *one in which there are moderate LGBT voices*, even though the massacre was committed by a lone unhinged man who happened to be able to buy automatic weapons. Drumpf would happily deprive Americans of 7 of their Amendments rather than touch the fucking Second Amendment, which states”well regulated” in case you’re another of those dipshits who evidently cannot read. Fuck you conservatives. Just. Fuck. You.

          • chfnelson

Your intelligence shines through. First, it was not an ‘automatic weapon’. Second you make the assumption that I support Trump. Third, in case you fail to realize it, Muslim countries execute gays. Fourth, the ‘well regulated’ is part of a preparatory phrase, while the ‘shall not be infringed’ is the meat of the Amendment.
You also seem to be among those who want to demonize all gun owners for the actions of one person while giving a pass to murders committed in the name of Islam.
Time for you to move out of mamma’s basement.

          • bhndr

            chfnelson-
trump has everything to do with this. FIRST by deciding to usurp the moment and take a “celebratory” lap (a completely disrespectful and disgusting move on Trump’s part). SECOND by promising to appoint Justices to the Supreme court and among their duties would be to rescind gay marriage and nullify those ALREADY married, THIRD by promising to remove ALL civil rights protections for gay and lesbian persons. AND FOURTH by promising to put the “church” in charge of the nations social policies.
Trump is a liar and disaster for ALL America but especially in this context for the LBGTQ community.

      • Mark

I’d hope they are so disgusted that they will speak louder…and louder…..and louder.

    • Yes. Where, for example, are all the other Christians who yell “we’re not all like that!” at us all the time. Well if they aren’t, why aren’t THEY complaining about this?

      • Prion
      • MontanaMade

Count me as one. This “minister” is no Christian! He is as sick as the psycho that killed and injured over 100 good Americans that were out for a good time- nothing more, nothing less. This tragedy is close to home for the LGBTQ community, I get that, but also hit home for the American community. I am as upset with this as I was with 9/11- people died because someone got it in their head that others weren’t worthy of life.

        Just sad…

    • zhera

I’m neither local or LGBT, but I assure you I’m OUTRAGED.

This bottom-feeding scumbag needs to feel the wrath of all decent people, starting with demostrations outside his church and home. Let him feel what it’s like to be hunted, hated, dehumanized.

      • Todd20036

LBGT rights never would have gotten as far as they have without straight allies, so thanks for that.

        • eagle keeper

If it is the desire for those involved in homosexual activity to spend eternity in hell for your lifestyle, that is your choice to do so. No, our Heavenly Father takes a very different view of looking at how ya’ll live. But it ain’t me that is saying it. Just telling you how Jehovah God views it. I personally have no problem with the way you live. But then I am not going to determine where your eternal soul will spend eternity either.

          • Raymond

who rationally think that listening to a shitstain god is a god thing. Your “god” is nothing more then a murderous sack of shit that allows child molestation to be praised in his cult. Hopefully you die alone before you hurt any children or try and brainwash them so you can fuck them.

      • NancyP

He will only use it for fund-raising. Look, I am a martyr! Better to publicize the name of the church locally , so that people who know congregants drop them.

    • tcinsf

Probably because until Joe posted it, nobody had heard of it or them. There are lots of little meaningless groups with this kind of toxic belief … I never believed that that Anderson jackass in AZ was the only one. Not at all surprised that we have some of them here in Cal.

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

First, I and I think all of us are enormously grateful for what Joe does. However this info came from CBS, so while it may be news to me in the Midwest, those in the Sacramento area should have heard of this and be outraged, regardless of religious affiliation or orientation.

        • tcinsf

True, but I looked into them a little bit, and they seem to be an inconsequential little group operating out of a business park, probably less than 50 members, and I’m not sure that there was anything about them to put them on anyone’s radar. They’re very similar to that ridiculous little group in AZ that Anderson leads … until the preacher starts youtubing shit, nobody knows about them.

          • Steverino

For some reason, there has long been a smattering of extremist fundamentalist Christian cray-cray in Sacramento. Home of the Capitol Christian Center megachurch, Randy Thomasson (haven’t heard from him, for awhile), and that smug little douche (can’t remember his name) who was one of the lead attorneys arguing in favor of Proposition 8, and also campaigned for a California Assembly seat a few years back, but lost.

          • NancyP

Aren’t Scott Lively’s Ukrainian buddies out there? The Ukrainians have bludgeoned to death at least one gay person.

          • Steverino

I know Thomasson used to exploit them some years back, but hadn’t heard of Lively being associated with them, though it doesn’t surprise me.

          • Steverino

            Yes! Thank you, JCF.

          • Robincho

Less than 50 members? Maybe they’ve got 49 members. Hmmm, 49…

          • Jarath Hemphill

Just takes one asshole with an assault rifle…

        • CityWOOF

We are outraged in Sacramento and we are responding this coming Sunday, if anyone in the area wants to join. https://www.facebook.com/events/1195724193795847/

The website for the “church” claims they have 200 members. I do worry about making their microphone bigger by giving them attention, but there has to be a response from the community here. This isn’t Arizona. They aren’t going to get away with this in the capitol city of California.

          • Skokieguy [Larry]

Bless you and I hope you have a huge turnout. Give him a bigger megaphone and shine a spotlight on his hate and evil. Reasonable people may not be aware and once they are they will share our outrage.

          • Hello. I sent Joe the tip on these folks. Please friend me on facebook and send me an invite as I cant the event to appear. Since youre going to be there, I thought I’d mention we need new footage of their services and statements, plus since inciting to murder is a felony both in state and city law, perhaps you can get police support to shut down their evil deeds. Also we should inform State Attorney Kamala Harris who said the bill demanding gays be shot was itself illegal hate speech. I sure look forward to your shutting down this monstrous malice.

          • CityWOOF

Sent you the request, Jay, thanks.

          • JW Swift

To not push-back is to provide tacit acceptance of the message. It raises the question in people’s minds that perhaps others don’t find his views all that offensive after all.

Even though he’s looking for the push-back and that it even feeds into his martyr narrative, it still needs to be done.

      • JCF

They’re in a suite. Probably some podunk storefront. Sadly, this @sshole pastor I’m sure welcomed the attention of the media.

    • Happy_Housewife

Lazy reporting. ALL decent people are outraged. And sad. This reporter just typed that without even thinking.

As for this “pastor”, all decent people need to reject him and his bullshit church.

    • Mark

It’s called freedom of speech. This country was not founded on communism, but freedom. If you don’t agree with him, don’t listen to him. It’s that simple.

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

Mark since you immediately pivot to communism, my troll-dar is pinging.

I also suspect you are aware that free speech is regulated. Google is your friend, but facts might interfere with your narrative.

Freedom of speech does not include the right:

To incite actions that would harm others (e.g., “[S]hout[ing] ‘fire’ in a crowded theater.”). Schenck v. United States, 249 U.S. 47 (1919).

To make or distribute obscene materials. Roth v. United States, 354 U.S. 476 (1957).

        To burn draft cards as an anti-war protest. United States v. O’Brien, 391 U.S. 367 (1968).

To permit students to print articles in a school newspaper over the objections of the school administration. Hazelwood School District v. Kuhlmeier, 484 U.S. 260 (1988).

Of students to make an obscene speech at a school-sponsored event. Bethel School District #43 v. Fraser, 478 U.S. 675 (1986).

Of students to advocate illegal drug use at a school-sponsored event. Morse v. Frederick, __ U.S. __ (2007).

Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences. He can say hateful shit and I reserve the right to call him the fuck out on it. And post his image faaaaaar and wide so all decent people know who he is, what he said and I hope ostracize the FUCK out him!

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

The FCC being effective for a video that has been taken down? I have just reported him to the FBI. Perhaps others may want to do the same?

        My text to them:

        Hello,

A California preacher has not only praised the murders in Orlando, he has called for more. A direct quote: ““If we lived in a righteous government, they should round them all up and put them up against a firing wall, and blow their brains out,” Jimenez said in the sermon.”

I believe these types of public statements help radicalize people who may have violent tendencies and / or mental health problems.

as a straight, female ally I want every single person on this website and the world to know – I am OUTRAGED!! I’m so sorry that my LBTQ brothers and sisters are having to read and experience this shit (not just this week obviously but assholes like this after the horrific loss your community has gone through is just much)! And for all the bigots of the world, I want you to know that I vote! And I’m raising kids with compassion who will ALSO vote! Bigotry like this will go the way of dinosaurs if the mommy’s and daddy’s of the world teach that LOVE is LOVE!

If he advocated such shootings, he should be arrested and incarcerated for inciting rioting, violence, reckless endangerment, and whatever else can apply. It is NOT free speech to advocate murder!!!!!

The first amendment of the Constitution reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress
        of grievances.”

The court has also made numerous rulings mandating
the separation of the State and the Church.

Almost all laws and court rulings regarding the
freedom of religion focus on the key word of “FREEDOM” along with what is or IS NOT a religion. Radical Islam is NOT a religion even if it’s practiced within atraditional mosque as a disguise.

When FREEDOM is the focus, can any group claim to
be a religion when it attempts or advocates imposing its views, laws, practices and customs upon others? Could the KKK or the American Nazi party declare itself to be a religion? Of course not! Why is it legal for anyone acting under the color of religion to advocate murdering gay, bi-sexual, lesbian or transgender
people or to advocate the imposition of their views upon others via the use of force and intimidation?

We can, IF WE HAVE THE WILL, rescind the non-profit
status of any individual church, mosque, synagogue or other entity and to enact harsh criminal penalties against any cleric or leader openly advocating or inciting others toward violence or the utilization of physical force to impose their views, customs and practices or beliefs upon others who do not share their beliefs or opinions.

        Islam is MORE than a religion. It has sharia law;
it has systems for imposing those laws; it has enforcement wings to impose its laws upon others; it has punishments for violating those laws applied to both willing and unwilling people alike.

In America, people have an absolute constitutional
right to voluntarily believe or not believe in any religion or ideology.

IF WE HAVE THE WILL, we can pass legislation making
it illegal, for religious reasons or otherwise, to advocate violence or forcible imposition of any ideology designed to infringe upon those absolute constitutional rights. We have the means; thus far WE LACK THE WILL.

        • This is alleged Christianity. Obviously a contraction of Christianist Inanity.

          • Common Sense American

I’m glad you used the word “alleged” because this person, who is criminally insane in my opinion, is not advocating anything related to Christianity. Every large group has a percentage of people who are mentally ill. It’s the degree and the percentage of such behaviors within such groups and how they are addressed within that group that makes the difference. We better wake up in this country and do what needs to be done to address the behaviors within islam that are currently NOT being addressed. On a percentage basis, the LGBT community is one of the most peaceful and least violent groups within our supposedly FREE nation!!

    • gofins

I’m with you on that sentiment sir

    • Darren

      I’m outraged I’m not LGBT

      • Youre lgbtq q for questioning, questioning why people are so prejudiced against gays. So our gender preference might surprise some. So what?

    • YEEHAH! You said it SkokieLarry. Thanks to JoeOurGod using my tip, one hunky hater becomes a public enemy! Truth & love win again. After YUGE Prozac-proof sads of Our Gay 9-11, suddenly I’m so jazzed, glad I’m a JMG Flying Monkey who through faith in Joe made a bitty difference, first with marriage rights maps, now like this. Because THIS is the kinda GUNJERK-inciting evil bullspreader that all so-called Christian leaders must now condemn. Inciting murder is a felony. I mean yes I’m angry. To wolf-in-sheep’s-clothing bestselling NWO charity-robbing CBN billionaire & “Law School” owner Pat Robertson for 50 years of crimes against humanity I send a huge JMG FSM Damn You to Fucking Hell. To my fellow Flying Monkeys I say, Scour the News, Reveal the Bashers, and… Friend me on Facebook. 😀 (Comment on any recent post youre from JMG.) Love to JoePalz BillBear, his husbear Claude, Mike, David Walker, Vorpal, and hiya distant stars Rachel Maddow, Sam Handwich and StraightGrandmother & YOU omg, JMG & You Flying Monkeys for broadcasting our truth to power. Despite the worldwide outpour I+y’all been feeling SO bad when it lifts a bit, we have strength to light a candle lit in the Casto…and see its glow cast round the world… O friends, my chosen family, I could nearly kiss a troll

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

I don’t deserve and am humbled to be even mentioned in the same company, but thank you regardless. I, like many, spent most of Sunday angry and weeping (and Monday and today).

There are so many to thank, CityWOOF is planning a protest (see below) in Sacramento to not permit the horrible Pastor Jimenez’s call for our murder to go unchallenged.

It is my JMG friends that have helped to both keep me informed and to be a comfort that there are kind and decent people and people working hard for change.

Also, Joe you do so much, I went to your store to buy something to help support you and what you do for us and the entire LGBT community. If you would consider adding a ‘donate’ button I would be more than happy to contribute to help with the costs and time you spent keeping your site the best LGBT site out there. I’m sure I would not be the only one.

[From CityWOOF’s post] We are outraged in Sacramento and we are responding this coming Sunday, if anyone in the area wants to join. https://www.facebook.com/event

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

I replied last evening and it was deleted. I too share your love of the JMG community. As we all cried, it was here that I found comfort and kind, loving people to counteract what sometimes seems like overwhelming hatred and ugliness in the world.

Thank you for your kind words. I certainly don’t belong in the esteemed company you describe, there are so many heroes on this site. And bless Joe who deserves every accolade he receives and more.

    • Vince Hlavac

Who are you or anyone else to say we are not Quit voting for Republicans so we can change these God Damn gun laws

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

What an odd and unnecessarily hurtful comment.

Are you a member of the LGBT community? I specifically said that rage at this pastor’s statements should not be limited to our community, everyone should be outraged. Other churches should be condemning him, politicians, etc.

Wat are earth would make you think I or the majority of us on JMG would be voting Republican?

    • elissalf

Trust me. It IS every single person I know. You are NOT alone in your grief 🙁 I’m not saying he’s an outlier, I’m not in denial. But you have a shitload more support than reading about these assholes would suggest. *Hugs*

  • j.martindale

Glad to hear out loud what we know so many think. Show yourselves in the light, vermin. Take responsibility for the murder of 49 innocent young people, religious haters.

  • The Professor

From the maniac’s website: “Pastor Roger Jimenez was born in Venezuela. His family came to Christ through the influence of American missionaries.”

What he said on that now-pulled video is hate speech inciting violence. Arrest the asshole.

Need to know anything else? They have to be carefully taught.

No advocate of GENOCIDE or CALUMNIST who falsely accuses people of one of the WORST crimes a person can commit has “come to Christ.”

Christ did not advocate wholesale MURDER, nor would he tolerate the bearing of FALSE WITNESS!!

It’s pretty obvious that the teaching of Christ are the last thing on what ever passes for their minds.

I don’t wish death on anyone but, when his time comes — as it inevitably must, I hope his, and others like him, will be prolonged, lonely and very painful.

    • billbear1961

It does not trouble ME to wish death upon those who wish it upon innocent people who have done them NO harm.

It does not–would not–trouble me in the LEAST.

      • Silver Badger

On first thought, me either. On second thought, “what comes around…” Third thought says I’m better than that and won’t let them win by dragging myself down to their level.

        • billbear1961

          You aren’t on their level.

You would be wishing it on people who have wished it on the innocent.

          That is VERY different.

You would not be wishing death on the innocent–you would be wishing it only on those who desire the deaths of innocent people.

        • billbear1961

          What comes around?

I will never wish death on innocent people.

I would wish it ONLY on those who desire the deaths of the innocent.

What would I have to fear from “what comes around”??

You will never hear me wish death on the innocent.

          • Silver Badger

Much better. The radical among us, myself included, needs must be very careful of our words. By what comes around, I meant good people loudly denouncing the words of these monsters.

  • Skokieguy [Larry]

Question for JMG legal eagles. This sub-human monster has just defamed the entire LGBT community, but specifically the 49 dead and the others still fighting for their lives.

Is this a reasonable case for defamation? Certainly it will be easy to prove pain and suffering caused by his words. This wasn’t casual speech, it was intentional, deliberate, and seems designed to inflict harm.

    • Sam_Handwich

      free speech….religious exercise

    • Reality.Bites

No. Defamation applies to individuals. There’s no class-action defamation.

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

        Could families individually sue?

        • No. Only the individuals could sue on their own behalf. Once you die it’s open season in terms of defamation, libel and slander. 🙁

      • billbear1961

That BASTARD has just accused the murdered and the wounded in Orlando of being PEDOPHILES!!

    • Joe in PA

Can you imagine the martyrdom that would cause? TonyKKK could make a fortune, not to mention Liberty Counsel. Ugh.

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

If Liberty Counsel gets involved, it guarantees victory.

    • Not a lawyer, but I know that you can’t sue for libel or slander on behalf of someone else, including deceased people. That’s why there is often a flood of tell-all books that only come out after celebrities die. They don’t dare publish some of that garbage while they could sue. Yes, the implication is that all gay people are pedophiles, but he didn’t say that outright and I’m not sure that would work in court, especially against a minister speaking from the pulpit.

      • Skokieguy [Larry]

There’s got to be some legal recourse. He is calling for murder. Incitement to violence I don’t believe is covered by free speech or religion exemptions.

        • Considering that we let churches break laws and nonprofit status rules all the time, I wouldn’t count on it.

Note: I agree with you in principle. Just expressing my cynicism that anything will be done.

    • tcinsf

My initial reaction is nah, defamation has to be directed to an individual, not a group, and the individual would have to prove that he or she suffered individual damages because of the defamation, which would be tough to impossible.
But ya never know. Law is flexible, and bends to new manners of human misbehavior. Once upon a time there was a jury instruction in rape cases that said, literally, that rape victims shouldn’t be believed because the accusation is easy to make and difficult to disprove. In time the law recognized that that was horridly wrong, and it’s been abandoned.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

Why do republicans refuse to call this what it is – radical Xtian terrorism!?
    Why won’t they say it?

    • Because people who say these same things among themselves are a huge part of their voting base and they dare not offend them.

    • Todd20036

Yeah. You are. It’s the biggest reason why we are better than they are.

Although an angry fuck can be a good outlet for it.

      • Mark

I have to admit it has been a struggle. Thankfully – I live way, way out in the sticks – and I hope no one was overly bothered by venting screams of anger.

        • Câl

I used to feel that I had to contain my rage or deflect it somehow, but then I learned that using the extra energy anger and sadness provides helps me more. Sounds really “New Age” and lame but sometimes it works. Not giving in to the first destructive impulses, but actually doing something, however small that helps someone (even yourself sometimes!). Making time to e-mail your local politicians to express your feelings, or even better donating time to campaign whether for a local politician, national party or charitable cause is made a lot easier if you have a good supply of stored up rage to get you through the boring bits of sending out fliers or trying to convince people that just don’t respond that they need to act too. However, screaming at the sky is a necessary vent when it all gets too much sometimes.

          • JW Swift

We’re all individuals and different from one another, but at the same time, all are humans at our core, and are all connected. Glad that you found a way of dealing with things that work for you.

    • scorpiomike

I get that sentiment, but I think it is better to remove it. This could inspire someone to act, build up some idiot’s courage and resolve, and result in another tragedy. The story can be reported without the video.

Stuff like this needs to be posted on the national news to shine a light on the REAL problem with those instigating hatred in this country – but sadly, it won’t be. You Tube quietly removes it and that’s that.

  • TampaZeke

I keep having straight people tell me who gay people SHOULD BE afraid of. We should be afraid of ISIS and Muslims and not Christians. I keep trying to explain to them that we can’t be afraid of someone just because we’re told that we should be. We are afraid of who we are afraid of based on our actual life-experiences and up until a couple of days ago virtually none of us had had a personal experience with being abused by, harassed by, attacked by, slandered by, discriminated against by or terrorized by a Muslim. The people who had earned our fear had been almost exclusively Christian and we know that tomorrow it will still be Christians who are really our greatest threat in this country.

I’m just getting so fed the fuck up with having straight people (especially those who have never given two shits about us up until two days ago) straight-splaining to the LGBT community how we should feel and who we should fear and what we “REALLY” need.

    • Silver Badger

Fear is not the emotion we need. Anger is more like it. Rage is even better.

    • The correct answer of course is ALL OF THE ABOVE. Yes, I am afraid of Muslim terrorists but Christian terrorists too. I haven’t actually ever been harassed or assaulted by a Muslim. But I know that happens (more in Europe than in the US…of course Europe doesn’t have even a fraction of the Christian nutcases that we do in American). Both are a problem. The problem is the bigotry and the violence. Same shit; different prophet.

      • Not all Christians. Not all Muslims. But ALL Christians, Muslims, Jews and Mormons who have NOT interpreted their sacred scripture in a non-Patriarchist and LGBTQ-affirming way, and treat women and LGBTQ people equally with men. No lesser status. No Christian, Muslim, Jewish or Mormon sect that treats women and LGBTQ people as lesser beings should be allowed the freedom to practice in the United States. Prejudice must be left at the border.

Example – when the Catholic Church re-jiggers its teachings against women and LGBTQ people, and allow women to be ordained, etc, and rescinds that idiotic “male names for the trinity only” rule fr baptisms, they should be allowed back into the U.S. – but in the meantime, all their churches should be shuttered, and their priests expelled from the country as agents of a hostile foreign power.

Same thing for mosques, synagogues and their leaders – close them down and expel them from the country if they are supporting terrorism (and treating LGBTQ people and women as less than men should be an irrebuttable presumption of the advocacy of terrorism.

Any of their followers who do not want to make their theology non-terrorist will be invited to emigrate to some less-civilized nation where their beliefs are acceptable.

    • tcinsf

Yeah, that bit pisses me off. I love my straight friends, but guys and gals, you don’t get to straight-splain what what I should be afraid of or how I should react to events.

    • Joe in PA

Did you see that smarmy-assed fuck smirk as he left the podium? What an ass.

  • AtticusP

“Pastor” Roger Jimenez is irrefutable proof that organized religion does not necessarily make one a better person.

    • Snarkaholic

The column on the left illuminates why these “Christians” are so hateful: after being subjected to that kind of abuse (since infancy) their self-esteem is so low that they desperately look for someone to feel superior to.

      • AtticusP

        I absolutely agree!

That explains everything, but excuses nothing.

    • JCF

  • GanymedeRenard

Before anybody takes aim at this psychopath’s ethnicity, remember that the majority of victims of this horrendous tragedy are Latinos/Latinas. Let’s keep things in perspective here.

As for you, you reverend POS, you’re a waste of oxygen. I hope the “rapture” happens soon so that your ilk can be erased from the face of this planet.

  • lattebud

    From their web site

“This is not an all inclusive list; we believe anything and everything found in the King James Version of the Bible.”

So, he better start blasting the divorced, those that live together, the greedy, those that don’t help the lesser among them, etc.

    • lymis

Among the ONLY people that Jesus is recorded as condemning to hell are those who ignore the suffering and oppression of those around them. In the parable of the sheep and goats, Jesus makes it clear that those who attend church and read Scripture and “follow all the rules” but don’t extend that to taking care of those around them – explicitly including those who aren’t of the same religion – are going to be summarily sent to hell, because how you treat your neighbor is exactly how you treat Jesus.

So people who use the Bible to excuse any mistreatment of others are going to hell, a “truth” that is something “found in the King James Version of the Bible.”

Even the Lord’s Prayer – the only prayer recorded in the Bible as Jesus telling his followers how to pray – includes an explicit request for God to judge them based on how they themselves treat others. If they don’t forgive those they feel have wronged them, they themselves will not be forgiven.

So someone claiming the authority of the Bible to justify hatred, condemnation, and the death others while claiming to be Christian is, nearly literally, asking God to send them to hell.

While I don’t believe a word of it, if it were true, and the way their God works, then it’s a sentiment I can get behind.

      • billbear1961

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.–Matthew 25: 44-46

It’s these assholes that have me really scared as to what may happen during SF Pride.

    • Silver Badger

Or ANY city’s pride festivities. This is terrorism we are experiencing. We are supposed to be too afraid to even have a Pride March.

      • billbear1961

        Yes, that is their goal.

      • Rebecca Gardner

Well, yes, of course all cities. I specifically mentioned SF Pride because that is where I will be bright and early in the morning doing the job I do every year getting the parade set-up.

The good news is the SF District Attorney sent me an email yesterday requesting my attendance at a meeting next week to discuss safety for SF Pride, listen to our concerns, and share “how our law enforcement community can better support the community and address any and all concerns during these difficult times.” As I wrote yesterday I’ll update everyone after the meeting.

        • Silver Badger

Good job. I hope the rest of the country follows your lead. Having been on Denver’s parade committee, I know you don’t have an easy job.

    • djcoastermark

Not just SF, but every one of our Pride Celebrations across the country and the rest of the world too. It is very frightening indeed.

  • Yalma Cuder-Zicci

Not only the preacher, but every member of the Verity Baptist Church needs to be on the terrorist watch list now (for what good it does).

  • screamingqueen

Funny how these shitbags keep calling us pedophiles. In reality, LGBT people are almost never pedophiles. You’d be hard pressed to find a case of an LGBT person molesting a child. Go ahead and look for one. It’s exceedingly rare. Child molesters are almost ALWAYS heterosexual cisgender religious conservative men. Priests and “pastors” in particular are CONSTANTLY making news for child molestation. The ones who loudly accuse others of doing it, like this unimaginable monster, almost certainly have their hands down some kid’s pants or child porn on their computer.

    • billbear1961

According to law enforcement–and I’ve heard this again and again–the group which is most often guilty of harming children–guilty of physical, emotional or sexual abuse–is the married heterosexual male.

I posted at length on FB about the 70 sexual assaults EACH WEEK that are reported by Protestant churches. Do a google search for church sex crimes or anything similar and you will be amazed. Most often children are sexually assaulted by a youth minister, never by a transgender person in a public restroom. (And yes, youth ministers are primarily heterosexual cisgender religious conservative men, or at least that’s what they want you to believe.)

How is this not hate speech? How is this allowed to go on? Why can’t something be done with people like this who are no longer subtle in their calls for murder? These types of people are blatantly calling for the murder of our people. It has me so very angry. When does it stop?

    • Silver Badger

Never? You just sorta get used to it.

    • JesterRedPanda

the video has been pulled for violating TOS on hate speech. That in and of its self is something, considering how damn hard it is to get youtube to do anything useful

  • Steven Leahy

I wonder why these christianist haters are never called out and never have their vile message shown out on the national news. Seems to me, the message really isn’t any different from the islamist one, just spoken in a different accent and often with western-looking clothes and a tie. But that would force the media and Americans as a whole to acknowledge there’s a real problem with religiously-instigated hate from not only muslims but their christian neighbors, colleagues, relatives and friends.

    • BrianQTD

Internet comments sections were filled with the Islamic scholar who said that death for gays is merciful, but for some reason this is just different.

  • Gigi

Interesting how hesitant to share his anti-gay hate speech this “pastor” was once there was a reporter with a camera at his front door. “I don’t have time to talk right now.” Chicken shit.

  • AllWeNeedIsLove

I was raised Christian and I’m disgusted. I’m not the perfect Christian by any means, but never in my 34 years on this earth have I heard a pastor say such hateful things. Mr. Jimenez is not acting like a man of God. It’s so sad but all I can do is pray because I’m not God to be judging.

    • Steven Leahy

I have. I even went to a neighbor’s wedding and the douche pastor used that heterosexual wedding as a segue to launch a tirade on gay marriage. They say it in different ways, more or less coded, some more vitriolically than others, but most of them say it.

    • Skokieguy [Larry]

What is the mechanism for reaching the Vatican and the Pope? I think it is perfectly reasonable and appropriate for him to condemn these words and excommunicate this monster.

      • Silver Badger

The man is a protestant. The pope has no authority.

        • Skokieguy [Larry]

Thanks, sorry for my inaccurate post. Is there a similar way to defrock a Protestant minister? Who ordains and has the power to revoke the rights?

          • The answer to your questions is, “in theory yes” — which in practice means “no” — and “nobody”. Anyone can proclaim himself a minister and preach whatever gospel he fancies.

          • BrianQTD

I suspect he runs a non-denominational church–that is not affiliated with an official Protestant denomination like Presbyterian or Methodist. It is called “Baptist” but if an American Baptist or even Southern Baptist said something like this, the response would be swift and condemnatory from the leaders of those denominations. The only way he could probably be removed is if the “elders” of the church (or whatever they call their leaders) removed him. Since they probably agree with his bigotry, that won’t be happening. The other problem with nondenominational churches is that they can be led by a pastor who has dictatorial control over the congregation. There is no accountability from higher-ups or board members.

    • Silver Badger

You haven’t been listening hard enough. Sad, but there is nothing new here.

There are some evil people who may call themselves Christians, but the LGBT communities adversary is not Christians, it is radical Islam, who want them all dead and will continue to act on that. The LGBT community is so blinded by their hatred for Christians, they are failing to see who their real adversary is. They are failing to see who it is, that will kill them, as was the case in Orlando.

BTW, if you want Christians killed, are you any different than the Orlando shooter?

ALL Mythology is the enemy of GLBT people. Reject Mythology and embrace Science.

We are afraid of people who embrace the hateful side of mythology as an excuse to hurt us because they ignore the loving side of mythology. Only believing in half of their mythology makes them NOT true believers. What about the people who do the opposite – embracing the loving side while ignoring the hateful side. That makes them also NOT true believers. Both sides are just using the Mythology as an excuse to justify their behavior, while not REALLY believing in the Mythology they are using as a guide for their lives. And both sides say they are treating us according to their Faith. Not by how people SHOULD treat each other – but how a text of myths demands that they do. Implying that if their faith in Mythology did not stand in the way that they would indeed be treating us differently than they are. Beware the Mythologist that spouts love – for their existence entitles the existence of the Mythologists who spout hate. BOTH must be rid from society.

          • marigrace

So you think all “Mythologists” must be gotten rid of? How do propose that be done? Are you suggesting killing them? If not killing them, how else would you propose it be done. What is the difference between the Islamic religion that says Infidels should be gotten rid of, versus the anti-mythologist who believes all Mythologists must be gotten rid of ?

Now it is a fast spreading cancer that can only be stopped with extreme measures of love and tolerance. We need to build walls of arms, and hearts to surround those who are targets of this hatred. This is NOT acceptable in a decent society. America has not been decent since we mass-acred the original Peoples living here, accepted humans into bondage, regulated women to less than human. Most people don’t read their bible and are brainwashed by the media, tv, Hollywood, movies, schools, etc. This is a man of God and one of the few that puts the bible above man. Homos, perverts, murderers, and rapists were put to death in this country at one time. Homosexuality was a felony until 1962 and was a crime until 2003. People have gone soft on the bible and are believing the matrix of television. God bless Pastor Jimenez and his preaching.

    • motordog

It’s ‘men of god’ who do most of the raping…fuck off, shitbag.

    • Delphini

Thank you for exposing the fact that your religion advocates murder. Incidentally, the bible only gives the death penalty to some rapists. Under the right conditions, a rapist only needs to pay 50 shekels and walk free, according to the bible. Another IFB church, the same denomination as Pastor Jimenez, specifically cited the Biblical teachings on rape when they shielded a rapist named Ernest Willis and moved his rape victim to another state so she could not press charges. John Matzko of the IFB affiliated Bob Jones University further confirmed that the church did the correct thing based on Biblical teachings. Isn’t it nice that fundamentalists actually follow the Bible and demonstrate that following it would actually mean allowing rapists to walk free while murdering people who have only ever engaged in sex with consenting adults? Also, the bible never once says that it’s wrong for adults to have sex with children, which may be one reason why pedophilia was once viewed as no big deal. So thank you, IFB churches and other fundamentalists. You are truly an inspiration. You have inspired so many of us to recognize the Bible for the flawed, bad book that it actually is and leave religion.

    • Mike in NC

Shove your bible up your ass with a splintery telephone pole!!!!!

    • The_Wretched

“No True Christian™” is a logical fallacy. Christians behave badly like all other humans. They are still christians. I hope you’ll also note that the strongest public voices calling the Orlando shooting a good thing and making that vile slander (gay=pedofile) are all christian pastors who look and sound much like every other christian pastor until the topic changes to gay people.

Until the ‘moderate’ christian own and push back on the extremist christians, we’ll keep seeing christian hate in spades.

You see, if somebody went into a room filled with Church leaders, and shot 50 of them dead, it is statistically likely that many (most?) would be pedophiles.

But those killed in the Pulse nightclub? Statistically, it is likely that none were pedophiles.

  • coram nobis

We really do need to start defining limits on the Free Exercise of Religion clause. This is not a Muslim problem, as Joe’s posts today and this week make clear, but a problem with religious extremists across the board. We can start by making it easier to pull the religious tax exemption on such places of worship — I presume this guy is their pastor.

Wouldn’t hurt to have uniform licensing standards for clergy as we do for lawyers and physicians.

A corollary to the public benefit principle is the requirement, long recognized in the law of trusts, that the purpose of a charitable trust may not be illegal or violate established public policy. … When the Government grants exemptions or allows deductions all taxpayers are affected; the very fact of the exemption or deduction for the donor means that other taxpayers can be said to be indirect and vicarious “donors.” Charitable exemptions are justified on the basis that the exempt entity confers a public benefit — a benefit which the society or the community may not itself choose or be able to provide, or which supplements and advances the work of public institutions already supported by tax revenues.History buttresses logic to make clear that, to warrant exemption under § 501(c)(3), an institution must fall within a category specified in that section and must demonstrably serve and be in harmony with the public interest. The institution’s purpose must not be so at odds with the common community conscience as to undermine any public benefit that might otherwise be conferred.

Yeah, the problem is that people and the government allow to saying things like this. There is only a solution for people that hate freedom, death. This person is against freedom and humanity, he’s teaching horrible things to weak minds, so the solution to have a better and clean place in the world is to eliminate people against freedom. Death by burning at the stake is the only solution. The government should protect people’s freedom, if you say things like this you’re for not equality, and unfortunately sometimes to get freedom you have to put fear inside the minds of people like him. • You know, since the Romans never released the lions onto the christians, let’s test their bullshit Daniel story now.

They’re close by Fry’s Electronics—where I was just going to go to get a new monitor (old desktop warrior here about to go). Gonna pay ’em a piece-of-my-mind visit…

It’s funny, but I’ve heard a lot less of the usual bleating about the First Amendment since the Pulse massacre. It’s almost as though some people are becoming dimly aware that hate speech has real-world consequences.

  • NZArtist

Hey, whaddaya know… Another crazy person. The world is so full of them. Where do you suppose these crazy people get their crazy ideas from?
Fuck all religions equally. Fuck them all.

  • Common Sense American

If he advocated such shootings, he should be arrested and incarcerated for
inciting rioting, violence, reckless endangerment, and whatever else can apply.
It is NOT free speech to advocate murder!!!!!

    The first amendment of the
Constitution reads, “Congress shall make no law
respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise
thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of
the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress
    of grievances.”

The court has also made numerous rulings mandating
the separation of the State and the Church.

Almost all laws and court rulings regarding the
freedom of religion focus on the key word of “FREEDOM” along with what is or IS
NOT a religion. Radical Islam is NOT a religion even if it’s practiced within a
    traditional mosque as a disguise.

When FREEDOM is the focus, can any group claim to
be a religion when it attempts or advocates imposing its views, laws, practices
and customs upon others? Could the KKK or the American Nazi party declare
itself to be a religion? Of course not! Why is it legal for anyone acting under
the color of religion to advocate murdering gay, bi-sexual, lesbian or transgender
people or to advocate the imposition of their views upon others via the use of
    force and intimidation?

We can, IF WE HAVE THE WILL, rescind the non-profit
status of any individual church, mosque, synagogue or other entity and to enact
harsh criminal penalties against any cleric or leader openly advocating or
inciting others toward violence or the utilization of physical force to impose
their views, customs and practices or beliefs upon others who do not share
    their beliefs or opinions.

    Islam is MORE than a religion. It has sharia law;
it has systems for imposing those laws; it has enforcement wings to impose its
laws upon others; it has punishments for violating those laws applied to both
    willing and unwilling followers alike.

In America, people have an absolute constitutional
right to voluntarily believe or not believe in any religion or ideology.

IF WE HAVE THE WILL, we can pass legislation making
it illegal, for religious reasons or otherwise, to advocate violence or
forcible imposition of any ideology designed to infringe upon those absolute
constitutional rights. We have the means; thus far WE LACK THE WILL.

Exactly how are the lgbt community and pedophiles in the same category you dumbass how about you kill yourself no one will miss you and you are not a pastor or a real man of God and you definitely aren’t a real christian either you are an extremist

  • grada3784

I got this from my brother when I posted a link to this story on Facebook:

And you seem to look for any excuse to blame Christians. Well, they are an easy target. Don’t want to sound Islamophobic, do we?

The irony is that my brother is on his 2nd wife and is covered by 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, so his divine fire insurance doesn’t cover him. Paul already said no to his sorry ass.

I just filled out a tip form on the website of the Sacramento FBI. I’ve no doubt nothing will come of it but these crazies have to learn that they cannot continue to call for the death and destruction of fellow citizens and not expect consequences.

  • jonfromcalifornia

What does Kevin Swanson, Steven Anderson and this cretin have in common? They are all Baptist “pastors”. Something about the Baptist denomination, here and abroad that brings out the evil in these people.

    • jmax

I was raised Baptist. I’m still recovering from the experience and I haven’t set foot in a church since my mother’s funeral in 1991.

  • Gianni

It’s probably safe to say that this “thing” also considers himself to be a loyal American who fully supports the Constitution of the USA. So how in his mind does the government get the authority to “round up” whole groups of citizens that this jerk doesn’t like and just wipe them out by blowing their heads off? How about as long as you are giving the government some sort of authority to do “round ups”, we have them round up asshole preachers like you (of which their seems to be more than a few) and blow your heads off?

  • Princess Lardass

Wow. What an angry, dick-craving closet case.

  • Stormie

As a minister in a very conservative denomination, I have to ask, exactly which “Jesus” do you follow, sir? It is surely not the one who said, “Love your enemies.”
Nor “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
No, the Christian Bible does not give a big thumbs up to gay relations. But I see nothing in Jesus’ words, or Paul’s for that matter, that justify anything you’ve said.

You are the reason people are leaving the church and running from the REAL Jesus. Here is a word from the Lord. If you cannot give the truth IN LOVE, you are in effect assaulting people.

  • zeliasgrand

I’m more sickened than outrage. Every Christian who reads this should be denouncing this man. Poor God. All his self-appointed PR reps turn out to be crazy, bigoted, arrogant, or all of the above.

Jiminez is an ISIS mutant right in our midst.

  • JR

I cannot believe this guy especially when so many priests have been labeled as pedophiles and charged. He most likely is one of those macho guys who goes home and beats his wife and kids. But that’s ok? Shame on his parents for raising such a close minded individual but that might just be culture. The same culture that trump plans to round up and send back to Mexico. May the lord take pity on your soul. May all of the souls lost Sunday rest in peace and the remaining make a quick recovery and continue to live and love however they choose.

  • janey

sounds more and more like the Nazis wanting to kill all the Jews. How did that work out??Jews are still here and Nazis are in history books. I for one straight person, am sick and tired of shooting aimed at people you just don’t agree with. Hate abortion? Don’t get one. Don’t shoot up a clinic. Hate gays? Accept that you are stupid. Don’t shoot up a gay night club. Hate women? Move to a desert island. Don’t rape and kill women.

    OhTheIrony.

This man purports a perverted version of Christianity the same way Daesh purports a perverted version of Islam.

  • unicorn 64

I am not Gay or any one who is in the LGBT community. Nor do I endorse that lifestyle but as Jesus said he who is without sin cast the first stone. So why does anyone think he is above God in judging anyone. Technically we should not even judge ourselves. God is the judge and how do we know he isn’t using a Gay person to teach us some lesson. We need to show the same mercy that he shows us. I am not above any other person. Neither is a Muslim.

  • zelgo

It seems many Christians are aligned well closely with ISIS’ views on gays.

  • MaryAnn Lovier Jackman

I want these preachers who favor killing LGBT people to be jailed as co-conspirators where these attacks happen. They are as culpable as the guy with the gun. They are committing murder by proxy. They need to be held accountable.

  • SkivMarine

Pastor; I’d tell you to blow your own brains out, but I don’t think you have any.

  • Jonathan Hansen

Who is this man to hand out death sentences? Sounds like Pharisees in Jesus time. This is what he said to them about another capital crime-John 8 : 1-11

1 but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Every single human being on the planet should be outraged by this misanthropes statements. He is NOT a Christian in any way shape or form, regardless of what he likes to call himself.

This man (being kind) is not at all what Christians stand for .I am so saddened at the loss of life in Orlando, My heart and prayers go to all the survivors and all the families involved .

  • Chazz Y

I posted about him of Facebook, and about his hate. There is a Pic with our thoughts posted with it. All are free to find me on there and to join me on this one. It is in the same name with the same picture too.

  • Geoff Ozzy

I live a long ways from there but I heard about this a bit ago, first off sent an angry email to the church, which I’m sure they just deleted… feels like a sad response but everyone showing them their hatred is deplorable is a small help I suppose… I hope people remember this the next time a religious wingnut is up for office and that they vote against them. We need to start fixing the tone set at official levels by getting religious (and otherwise) LGBT hatred and discrimination off the playing field. I have LGBT friends that I love very much, they are humans, citizens of my country (hey conservatives, they pay taxes too!), that do not deserve to have in question WHETHER THEY SHOULD BE PUT IN FRONT OF FIRING SQUADS! I support free speech with the only limit to free speech being openly advocating violence, I think: “If we lived in a righteous government, they should round them all up and put them up against a firing wall, and blow their brains out” very obviously crosses that line.

  • Ken Green

The little black boy (roger jiminez) has been out of the cotton field for too long. He’s forgotten what’s it’s like to be discriminated against, he’s forgotten what it’s like to be treated as a second class citizen as he’s placed himself in a position above others. He should read his Bible. He should remind himself of Leviticus 25:44-46, Ephesians 6:5, Titus 2:9-10 and many other versus about slaves. He speaks pretty boldly for someone (who according to the Bible) should still be serving his master. roger should also look up Matthew 7:12 and remind himself of the Golden Rule which reads: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Perhaps he’d like someone to line him up against a wall and blow his brains out.

  • eagle keeper

I am a Christian first and attend a Baptist church. Nowhere in the bible do I read where we are to call for anyone’s destruction. God is a God of love and not hate. This pastor clearly got things twisted in his way of thinking. John 3: 16 clearly says “whosoever” shall believe in me will have eternal life. Far as I understand this does not exclude anyone. Including folks in the LGBT community. Example, who am I a sinner to point a finger at anyone else? If I do, where are the other three pointing? Right back at me. Nope accusing anyone of wrongdoing is not our job as Christians. We are to love everybody. None are excluded. The pastor in question needs prayer and lots of it.
