Tea Party Group Endorses Debbie Wasserman Schultz: We’ve Thrived During Her Tenure As DNC Chair

Here’s a press release you don’t see every day:

The Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest tea party political action committee, has joined Karl Rove in endorsing Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s (D-Fla.) campaign for re-election to the House of Representatives.

Wasserman Schultz is being challenged in the Democratic Primary by a liberal extremist Tim Canova, who has been endorsed by Democrat/Socialist Bernie Sanders.

“While both Wasserman Schultz and Canova share extreme liberal views that are damaging to American prosperity, the scales tip for us to endorse Wasserman Schultz because conservatives and the Tea Party have thrived during her tenure as DNC Chairman,” said Tea Party Express Executive Director, Taylor Budowich.

  • Todd20036

Yup. Time for her to go.

    • MattM

      You’re not wrong 😕

She’s a distraction we don’t need right now and I wasn’t wild about her in the first place. Time to call it a day, Debbie.

      Way past time.

Finally, we agree on something!!!! I’m so excited!

    • Lawerence Collins

It was time for her to go when Hillary Clinton announced she was going to be President!
How no ones saw this as a conflict of interest baffles the mind.

      • torrentprime

Yes, because the head of the DNC supporting a Democrat is clearly a problem.

        • Bill_Perdue

          not responsive

        • Marti386

Yeah, it IS, when you’re endorsing ONE candidate over another. She should wait until the winner is announced in the primary, then endorse.

          • torrentprime

No, she is under no expectation to not support a Democrat over an outsider who has admitted he’d rather risk a Trump presidency than lose the nomination for a party he never cared about before. You’re inventing out of whole cloth this supposed obligation of the DNC chair.
As the head of the DNC, it’d be irresponsible of her not to back the strongest candidate in the general. Again, that’s Hillary, as the voters agree.

          • Marti386

“No, she is under no expectation to not support a Democrat over an
outsider who has admitted he’d rather risk a Trump presidency than lose
the nomination for a party he never cared about before.”

Yeah, she totally IS. It’s called being impartial. I don’t want the head of the fvcking DNC influencing who gets picked as our nominee.

          • torrentprime

Again, it’s necessary to remind Bernie supporters that fervor and intensity of feeling does not alter reality.
Just like “the number of people at a rally” or “a lot of Facebook likes” do not actually equate to democratic victories in elections. But I think some of that you all are starting to get.

        • Lawerence Collins

Billary’s no Democrat! Moderate Republican at best…
Bernie’s more true Democrat on his worst day, then she is on her best day of lying and manipulating.

You’ve probably no idea as to why Bernie Sanders originally registered as an independent.
I shouldn’t be so harsh. Till last July, I was still like you. Wake up and research both their records. Watch his C-Span speeches. All of them.
It may not happen soon, but one day you’ll realize what she’s really about. I hope you have someone to comfort you.

          • torrentprime

            Yeah, because, just like Hillary, moderate Republicans are pro-gay, pro-trans, pro-immigrant, pro-Obamacare, pro-environment, pro-choice, and pro-labor. Totally.

            LOL

Democrats and independents won’t believe the fake Bernie supporter lies you spread forever, kid.

          • Lawerence Collins

I love it!! At 53, I’m being called a kid🎉🎉🎉😜. This country’s teetering on the edge of destruction. People are fed up. So much that they’re willing to vote the 🍊Scourge into the office of the Presidency. Hillary’s not trusted or liked. I’m no fake. I’ve been posting here for years now.

          • torrentprime

I am sure you’ve been regurgitating GOP propaganda for quite a while now.

          • Lawerence Collins

I’ve never spouted propaganda! I’ve never had to. The facts and the truth are immutable. They stand alone on their own. You want to support Hillary, do so at your own responsibility. Don’t blame others when she fails.

          • torrentprime

She won’t fail. That’s the cool part. She’ll win, and all of the BernOut deadenders will vanish.

          • Lawerence Collins

This is no comic strip! This is real life. You want to cling to to the S.S. Billary as it takes truth bomb after truth bomb. Go right ahead.

          • torrentprime

Bernie bomb after Bernie lie, and she’s still standing. And winning. The will of the people chose her.

          • Lawerence Collins

Lying would be your fraud if a candidate! Do tell?! What lies has Bernie told?
His platform is well thought out and 100% paid for.
            Your with her.😒😳😦😣

            Pro-Establishment!

          • torrentprime

I forgot the BernOut term that pretends the other stuff doesn’t exist and that your “moderate Republican” slur is a lie? Horrors!

          • Lawerence Collins

            #NeverBillary
Regardless whether Bernie becomes the nominee. There’s no bernout here!
So how much is Billary paying? Or does that come directly from the company her campaign hired. Correct The Record?
            Later Astro Turf😉

          • torrentprime

So many pro-Trump / anti-Hillary trolls out there, Hillary had to get help. Fighting the GOP smear machine is something Hillary has experience with (and something else Bernie has never done); she’ll make it through the BernieBro attacks just fine.

          • Lawerence Collins

There may be many out there. However, I’m not one. I’d never vote the 🍊scourge for any office.
You’re such a Billary fan, how do you feel about the fact that she’s been caught lying? The fact that the DNC had been floating Joe Biden as a possible replacement for her. How about this fact. That she herself claims to have helped draft the TPP. Being on record 45 times being in support of it? Only claiming to be against it when her polls started dropping earlier this year?!
Odd, that I’ve been posting to this site for years and I don’t recognize your screen name?!
One day you’ll learn what I did last year about her. I hope you have someone to comfort you.

          • torrentprime

Quite a collection of unsourced lies and guesses and FOX news headlines you have there.

          • Lawerence Collins

Fraud News?! Fcuk that sh*t! Joe was on Good Morning America. just a few weeks ago.
Are you not even smart phone to glean what happened?! Do you follow the D.C. Beltway news. It’s the establishment Dinocrates that are spreading these rumors.

          • torrentprime

Interesting parallel on the best/worst day comment:

Sanders: “Yes, we do agree on a number of issues, and by the way, on her worst day, Hillary Clinton will be an infinitely better candidate and President than the Republican candidate on his best day.”

Or do you no longer support Bernie’s judgment?

        • Lawerence Collins

I’m glad you finally came to your senses.
DWS, Hillary’s campaign manager in 08 has done everything in her power to ensure Hillary’s win.

          • torrentprime

Pretending to misunderstand my sarcasm doesn’t make your position any less laughable.

Just as BernOuts’ impotent rage doesn’t change the fact that millions and millions more voters chose Hillary – she kicked Sanders’ behind fair and square.

          • Lawerence Collins

Keep telling yourself that. Now, I almost pity you.

  • Todd

Bernie Sanders responds – ‘ Well, you’re the only ones that have. Bah HUMMBUG ‘

  • bkmn

DWS has the same record as Nancy Pelosi’s pick (Steve Israel) to lead the DCCC during the 2010-2014 election years. Blue Dog Dems do not make good party leaders.

    • torrentprime

A shame we can’t just kick them all out of the party, hmm?

  • JT

Teabaggers lost ground in the last few years. And have managed almost to destroy the GOP. Keep up the good work, asswipes.

    • Sebastian

at least teabaggers have their priorities straight: in North Carolina the Republicans are allocating money to protect motorcycle riders from discrimination…. you can discriminate against lgbt human beings but not against motorcycles in NC!

        • Sebastian

    • bob

      Actually, Schultz is the asswipe.

      • JT

        Thanks for your concern, “Bob.”

  • MikeBx2

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but extremists of a political party don’t “endorse” someone of their opposing party because they actually like her. It’s because they want to get rid of her. Duh!

    • Capritaur

Typically that would be true, but given that her ousting is imminent, I think they’re just attempting at a bit of humor, and I’m shocked that, being the humorless RWNJs they are, it was actually mildly successful.

      • torrentprime

Why is her ousting “imminent”? Bernie fans’ fervor does not translate into primary wins, as this primary has shown us.

Clinton beat Bernie in her district by almost 40%, and the large number of Jewish and Hispanic voters there may not respond well to the BernieBro argument, “We white (Gentile) people know what’s best for you.”

This TeaParty instance is trying to capitalize on the Democratic primary fight to weaken and maybe defeat a Democrat. Just like the right-wing is trying to do to Hillary, nationwide.

@MikeBx2:disqus you’re right, of course. The sad thing is the number of real and fake Bernie supporters who will go along with it.

  • Octavio

You’d think this would wake up the Democrat base, but I’m not expecting it.

    • Friday

Obviously the Teabaggers are just trying to escalate the dissention, probably in hopes it’ll somehow retrench Democrats who are getting tired of the Bernie campaign getting ….led around by the nose by the bad guys. 🙂

    • Treant

This probably means I should dig deeper into DWS’ career. If they hate her enough to faux-endorse her with a poison kiss, I might be missing something positive about her.

I doubt it, but…well, you never do know.

      • BearEyes

do a google on DWS and pay day loans. you’ll quickly see how she’s playing both sides of the fence – and that’s just recently.

        • Treant

Given her district, I don’t blame her for that too much. A Sandersesque level of supposed “purity” would get her kicked out of office so fast her head would spin.

        • Lumpy Gaga

[Shrug] “My” party also loves telecomm and the Hollywood Content Cartel. The former in particular is pick-pocketing writ large.

Not excusing any of it. DWS definitely played her position for her paymasters dastardly well. Will not miss her, but, Florida…

        • unsavedheathen

Given the level of gerrymandering by the Republican-controlled Florida legislature, logic would dictate that any congressional seat currently held by a Democrat is a safe seat for a Democrat. Tim Canova, the “liberal extremist”, trying to oust her would most likely win easily in the general.

      • sherman

Her opponent is a strong progressive. Teabaggers are trying to ratfuck votes to him.

I know! When I read BernieBro-style comments about female Democratic politicians, I expect them to score BINGO across the Wall Street/establishment/munitions/voter suppression/whore categories of attacks. You only had greedy and inside and fracking and arms dealing; I guess the progressive puritans I usually encounter use more of the phrase list.

liberal extremist? a law professor and former aide to paul tsongas.
    wow. how about just LIBERAL.
god forbid someone call for campaign finance reform, banking reform, more taxes on the wealthy, a $15 minimum wage, the end of trade agreements that were sold as a why to calm and raise the third world but have only resulted in record global warring, mass migration, war, and juntaism. lets not talk about the costs of wars and particularly our war on drugs. that is SO outside the historic democratic mainstream.

    • JW Swift

Yeah, that’s what caught my eye, too. Granted, I don’t really know anything about this candidate, but to brand him with a “liberal extremist” label right out of the gate… Sheesh.

    • unsavedheathen

Well said. Democrats need to decide who they are. If they still claim to be the party of working and middle-class, they need to jettison this woman and her republican-lite clones in Congress.

      • torrentprime

Simple plan, easy to execute, and the fact that if carried out broadly would both destroy the Democratic Party as well as empower the Republicans is, I am sure, something that we can overlook/ignore, if we’re pure enough.

        • unsavedheathen

So, living up to its ideals rather than only giving lip service to them and actually doing a little bit of what is promised would destroy the Democratic party? You and others like you are the reason we have two national parties representing the interests of the USCOC and no one looking after the average citizen. I don’t believe you need fear any repercussions from excess purity.

          • torrentprime

“Me repeating the Bernie evangelicalism that the Democrats are also the enemy and should be destroyed in no way confuses Bernie’s candidacy to be their leader. We should be the head of this collection of undemocratic enemies, even though Bernie can’t seem to get elected their leader through votes and would instead have party insiders install him against the will of the voters.”

  • davewolfusa

Well, this should speed her ouster.

  • MikeBx2

If the Tea Party has “thrived” it’s due to gerrymandering and capitalizing on bigoted and racist attitudes in this country. They hate Wasserman Schultz. Don’t be fooled.

    • ultragreen

No, they love her. They think she is wrecking the Democratic party.

      • MikeBx2

No, I disagree. They want to get rid of her and replace her with a Tea Party Republican.

        • lymis

By primarying her out with someone they see as too liberal to be electable.

          • MikeBx2

            Exactly.

  • Rebecca Gardner

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone that supports usury and the pure evil bullshit, legal felony extortion companies, know as Pay Day Lenders is certainly not on our side.

DWS has annoyed me for a long time now. I used to love her but she’s gone off the rails.

    • Joseph Miceli

Why do you hate Dancing With the Stars and what do they have to do with payday lenders?

  • Ernest Endevor

    There’s the Judas kiss.

  • Extremely off topic…however Happy Towel Day!

  • Now that she’s rigged the system in favor of Hillary, she can be done away with. I am happy to see her go, but this is one more example of the Clintons throwing someone under the bus. I bet she gets a nice severence.

    • That_Looks_Delicious

Seriously? She “rigged” the system? The superdelegate system was instituted in 1982, when Wasserman Schultz was only 16 years old. And even with only pledged delegates, or just counting actual votes, Hillary leads by far. How can reasonable people keep spouting this Glenn-Beck-level conspiracy paranoia?

      • Part of why she’s leaving is because of her behavior towards Sanders so yeah she’s rigged things in HRC’s favor.

        • danolgb

Her “behavior towards Sanders” was just calling him out on his shit. The allegations of “rigging” are just people trying to excuse Sanders’ campaign poor organization.

          • That’s one opinion but many feel quite differently.

          • danolgb

“Feel” is the operative term. Yet no one can specifically say what this alleged rigging is. They only bring up the debate schedule, but the party isn’t responsible for the candidate getting name recognition. It’s just more excuses.

          • Exactly – you “feel” one way.

          • unsavedheathen

Know that this is pointless, but there’s no “feel” to this.

DWS scheduled the Democratic debates to minimize viewership. The only logical reason for the chair of the DNC to ratfuck her own party’s debates is to minimize the exposure of a preferred candidate who historically falls in polls after debates. I don’t know how else you can explain four out of nine national debates held on Saturday(2) or Sunday(2) nights and two others held within a week of the previous debate.

          • torrentprime

It’s a shock that DWS wasn’t more willing to help a non-Democrat attack and weaken the Democratic party.

Your feeling as to the “true intent” behind a primary debate schedule is just that – a feeling.

I do have to give credit, though – I am glad to see people admitting there have been 9 Democratic debates. When other Berners were attacking Clinton for not going along with the FOX/Sanders plan to hurt the Democrats, many of Bernie’s ppl kept pretending there had only been 3.

          • unsavedheathen

Thanks for the left-handed complement and the snarky delivery. Always appreciated in an adult conversation.

DWS admitted on national television that the point of some aspects of the Democratic primary process were implemented specifically to forestall an insurgent candidacy and give the party insiders the ultimate word in choosing a nominee. Of course, as soon as the words left her lips and reached her ears, she began to walk back the statement but she said it. Is there another explanation for the Democratic debate schedule seemingly created to minimize the number of voters ever seeing a debate? Is Wasserman-Schultz just stupid? Either there was a purpose to the schedule or there was not. Perfidy or incompetence? Either way she needs to go.

          • torrentprime

“Thanks for the left-handed complement and the snarky delivery. Always appreciated in an adult conversation.”
“My snark is as pure as the driven snow. Yours, however, is a sign of evil. And Establishment… Wall Street shill something something… criminal… triple word score?”
Yes, it is interesting to remember back when Bernie hated the superdelegates. Of course, now he actually wants the superdelegates to do what he and you decry: overthrow the democratically elected winner and install the loser. So much for Bernie’s standards.

          • unsavedheathen

You have misunderstood me.(and needlessly jumped down my throat. again!)

I’m not arguing who should be the nominee. I’m talking about the Democratic debates, how they were very, very badly scheduled, how the person responsible should be removed from her position of responsibility and how it should never be allowed to go down like this again.

          • torrentprime

So, because of your feeling that scheduling was sub-optimal, a party chair should lose her seat and primary oversight needs more regulations.

I am sorry that you’re pretending I’ve misunderstood you.

          • unsavedheathen

My mistake. I see now that you have not misunderstood me but rather are being deliberately obtuse.

I am sorry that you’re such an ass.

          • torrentprime

Moving from “my feelings are the same as proof” to personal insults? Shocker.

          • Treant

Feel in one hand, vote in the other, see which one gets elected.

      • studd55

Yes and Hillary plays by the rules.

Well except that email server thingie.

        • Todd20036

          Seriously?

        • lymis

As always, there’s more to that story. Did you watch Rachel Maddow last night, where she went over the actual rules that Hillary was “supposed” to follow with her emails?

Under the current rules, the only approved method of saving emails is to print every one of them out and store them as hardcopies in an unindexed filing system. The rules have never been updated to reflect even 1990’s technology, much less today’s. Good luck finding any documents you actually need to do your job.

The official review not only formally acknowledges that the current rules are utterly unworkable, but also that all her recent predecessors have done the same thing.

The official system simply does not work, and there ARE no rules for maintaining a system that actually works. It’s not Hillary (or Colin, or Condoleeza, or, likely, John Kerry) that’s the problem. It’s that the rules haven’t been updated since typewriters and carbon paper. Faced with actual serious real-world problems, a set of rules that are completely unworkable, and a Congress who sure as hell wouldn’t have approved any changes that might have made the Obama administration more streamlined, the only choice was to come up with another solution.

Whether it was ideal, or whether it was always the best way to organize, preserve, or safeguard the data, the fact is that they had to do SOMETHING, and there is no indication that the choices she made were anything other than to get the job done.

Get some 21st century rules in place, and THEN complain if someone doesn’t follow them.

      • ultragreen

Well, the superdelegates all lined up behind Hillary before the Democratic primary season even began, never mind what the voters think. But Debbie and Hillary didn’t have anything to do with that, I suppose.

        • lymis

Just because the superdelegates feel Hillary is a better choice for president does not automatically mean that Hillary rigged the system.

She’s certainly got a lot of extremely valid qualifications for the job.

And whatever anyone thinks of Bernie’s policies, it’s a simple fact that he hasn’t been a Democrat, and is already registered to run for reelection as an Independent again. It’s hardly a surprise that a high percentage of people who have strong reasons to keep the health and functioning of the party in mind are supporting a qualified candidate with a real history of supporting the party.

Even the fact that Hillary has been raising money and campaigning all along for down-ticket Democrats while Bernie has been raising money and campaigning only for himself is alone enough of a reason for superdelegates to pay attention.

The only way to describe this is a word that is considered misogynistic by many of our dear readers and allies, so I’ll pass.
    Hint … rhymes with “runty.”

    • Tempus Fuggit

I think we should come right out and say what’s on our mind: DWS is a cupid stunt.

    • perversatile

      See you next time?

  • Sam_Handwich

uh, the Tea Party is a cancer on the GOP and has nothing to do with the Democratic Party

    • David L. Caster

The compassionate thing for the DNC to do is place the GOP in palliative care. That Tea Party cancer is inoperable.

  • Kevin Perez

This is an example of teabagistan trying their hand at eleventy-dimensional chess, once again proving that they suck at eleventy-dimensional chess. DWS needs to go. She’s not looking out for the people. She’s a payday lender shill.

    • lymis

But she only needs to “go” in her congressional district in favor of a better candidate, and only if that candidate can actually beat the Republican.

Her role as DNC chair is not inherently tied to her seat in Congress. Let’s not confuse the two.

  • Silver Badger

I can’t think of a better reason for a change.

  • Mark

Well, when you take everything off and show them the big target on your ass – don’t think they won’t take a few pot shots at it. “Yep, I shot ‘im in the ass!”

  • Lumpy Gaga

Oh, look! Bernie bruhs and Teatards finding common ground!

    • jomicur

Except that the “Teatards” seem to love DWS and her bff Hillary.

      • torrentprime

Almost like they’re playing you, huh?

  • studd55

I almost didn’t recognize Debbie in that pic with her hair washed.

    • That_Looks_Delicious

I’m old so I don’t know exactly what that stuff is that the millenials put in their hair to make it look “unwashed,” but I know it’s popular with them right now. But yeah, Deb is a little too old for that look. Or distressed jeans.

  • kladinvt

Well, DWS has done a “bang up” job of driving Democrats out of the party, so why wouldn’t the baggers love her!

  • Ross

    The tea party has thrived?

I think putrified would be more accurate.

  • jomicur

    ‘Nuf said?

  • Secure

Oh okay – and thank you for helping to get Obama reelected.

  • Richard

We lost the Senate under her leadership, didn’t we ? It’s time for her to go !

  • Ninja0980

I won’t be sorry to see her go, as she was horrible DNC chair but she didn’t lose all those seats on her own.
Part of that also has to go to our base that forgets that midterms and local and state races are just as important as the presidency.
Until that changes, we will keep losing, again and again.

    • David L. Caster

We will certainly continue to lose if Democrats don’t vote.

      • torrentprime

Don’t imply that some people don’t turn out for midterm voting! Such a post wouldn’t feel the Bern!
        /s

  • Chuck in PA

Probably the only picture of her where she doesn’t look like she is obeying the “do not wash your hair within 24 hours of getting a perm rule.”

    • Tigernan Quinn

Thanks for commenting on her appearance. You of course did not offer the same opportunity for us to comment on yours.

      • Chuck in PA

        Your welcome.
Admittedly, I did use the same joke yesterday when someone posted a picture of Sammy Haggar on Facebook.

  • Tigernan Quinn

This is just like Trump telling Bernie that he should run. If the evil dipshits are telling you that something is good, then it is bad. The end.

  • chasmader

So two congressmen are overheard gossiping about DWS by a Capitol Hill blog and all of a sudden, she’s getting dumped.

  • Curieux Bleu

Debbie Dahling! You really MUST do something about that Gorgonian hair treatment you got going on there, gurl! Although it does match your face to perfection I must admit. Could turn flesh to stone, and stone to granite.

I know you’re pressed for time ‘Dahlling’, what with engineering Hilz’ ascendancy to the podium in July, and her subsequent death spiral match in November.

The thing is that the stakes here are probably just way way too high for little Debbie to delude herself that she could out manoeuvre the GOP professional sharks. You might turn to Bill Perdue however for tips on how to energize the base.

Problem is, a lotta folk out there know that little Debbie is in bed with her own set of sharks, the payday loan sharks. Well, just for the money of course. Nothing more personal ….

Oh well, no matter, Debbie’s got HERS either way, whether the Republic is lost or not.

    • ultragreen

She’s also in bed with the Wall Street sharks. However, I think she is leaving the DNC at the end of her term.

Debbie has an uncanny resemblance to the Medusa. Doesn’t she have any gay friends to give her advice?

      • Curieux Bleu

She’d have to Pay for Gay, though …. if she could afford it.

I guess she could get cheap TeaParty advice from ‘AFA Radio Shreiker’, Sandy Rios, Botox swollen ‘Queen of the RWNJ Dementors’ … Nice to see they support Deb’s efforts.

Here’s the good news “A new Economist/YouGov poll finds 50% of Bernie Sanders voters are not yet ready to support Hillary Clinton in a Clinton-Trump general election match up.

“In fact, the percentage of Sanders supporters willing to vote for Clinton has dropped in the last few weeks. At the end of April, 63% of Sanders supporters said they would vote for Clinton. Importantly, however, these supporters are not going directly to Trump; instead they are moving into the undecided category, going for a third candidate, or opting out of the race altogether.” https://today.yougov.com/news/

  • torrentprime

Some Berners and progressives are going to fall for this, aren’t they?

    • GreatLakeSailor

Help me understand what there is to “fall for”?
      1) No one cares who the TeaTypes endorse
      2) They are factually correct – DWS is a dismal failure to the TeaTypes measurable benefit.

Why she wasn’t gone after the 2014 disaster shows plainly she’s not in it to make a better life for us plebes, but rather all about her and amassing power and money. She’s trying to take down Senator Warren’s CFPB for her bribemasters in the payday loan scam industry.

      • torrentprime

You’ve done a better job of demonstrating than I could ever explain. Thank you for that.

        • GreatLakeSailor

          You’re a DWS supporter!? Ouch.

          • torrentprime

You make snap – and erroneous – assumptions like many BernieBros do? Ouch.
            (Shocker.)

          • GreatLakeSailor

Ah, the BernieBro slur. What if I used the mirror image of that slur – HillaryHag? It’s offensive, untrue, very poor taste – that’s why I don’t use it. Yet here you are throwing the slur BernieB*. Look in the mirror much?

And as for DWS, why defend her if you’re not a fan? Is it because TeaTypes said out loud what everyone already knows, but you’re just too into the “team sports” aspect of politics that when something true is said by the other side, you knee jerk and defend your team? That’s quite common in followers of authoritarian figures – to ignore policy and center on personality & tribe.

          • torrentprime

Criticism of your methods still doesn’t mean I’m a DWS supporter, as you admit you can’t prove and are just asserting.
Fortunately, the trend of fake insurgent candidates and their supporters using Republican-written terminology and GOP front groups to disrespect and erode the chances of the front-runner and the people’s choice is starting to receive some pushback. As all of Sanders true supporters know, intentionally handing over the nation to Donald Trump will deny Bernie’s movement from ever taking root in and steering the party leftward.

          • GreatLakeSailor

Honestly, I really can not follow your argument. Exactly what criticism of my methods have you offered? You wrote “You’ve done a better job of demonstrating than I could ever explain.” Please, take a swing at an explanation. For what, precisely, do you think I have fallen? The only thing discussed so far is that DWS’s strategy of backing & running milquetoast CorporaDems has failed miserably leaving a vacuum that makes it easier for fascist types (TeaBaggers) to fill the void she left. Please, be specific. Point out any inaccuracies.

          • torrentprime

And an encore performance. Helps drive home exactly what and who you represent. Thank you, again.

          • GreatLakeSailor

So you’re incapable of explaining yourself or considerably more likely you simply got nothing.

    • Bill_Perdue

No. But several of your fellow hilbot reactionaries already have. It’s because they’re desperate to make excuses for being hilbots.

“A new Economist/YouGov poll finds 50% of Bernie Sanders voters are not yet ready to support Hillary Clinton in a Clinton-Trump general election match up.

“In fact, the percentage of Sanders supporters willing to vote for Clinton has dropped in the last few weeks. At the end of April, 63% of Sanders supporters said they would vote for Clinton. • lymis

But that always happens. There will be a small, but real, percentage of people who cut off their nose to spite their face, but right now, saying you’d vote for Hillary feels like saying you’re giving up on Bernie.

The same thing happened 8 years ago when a huge number of Hillary supporters said that they “weren’t ready” to support Obama in the general. Once it actually WAS a race between Obama and McCain, most of them still voted Democrat, even if they were voting against the Republicans rather than for Obama.

        • Bill_Perdue

That does not always happen on a scale this big.

Voting for HRH Trump or The Empress Presumptive means about the same. It means voting against ENDA, for wars, for border racism and for the interests of the rich. No one who votes for either of those dues paying members of the bankster class will be cutting off their noses in spite.

The thing will play out against the background of The
Empress Presumptive and her increasingly rapid stampede to the right, the astounding drop in the numbers of Democrats and independents who mistrust her and her increasing difficult email server problems.

You’re wrong. Obama’s vote roughly one third of the of the potential electorate boycotted the election and by 2012 it had decreased to 57.5%. http://bipartisanpolicy.org/library/2012-voter-turnout/

          .

      • torrentprime

Yeah, Hillary had some dead-enders like that in ’08. Fortunately, most of them did in fact turn out to support Obama even though they threw a lot of similar temper tantrums claiming that they wouldn’t. Because, they knew that to not support Obama was to help elect Sarah Palin; similarly, true progressives and Bernie supporters will not give us to Trump despite some BernieBro-authored claims that they will.

        • Bill_Perdue

As usual you’e dead wrong. The numbers are much higher this time around in spite of what you boss at the DNC says.

          • torrentprime

No, see, we know the truth of the score: history has shown us that the loss feelings and butthurtness doesn’t last; true progressives wouldn’t harm their country and their children just because their preference in the Democratic primary couldn’t convince a majority of the Democratic voters that he was the guy.
They’re not going to sell out women, gays, Muslims, etc. just because democracy worked the way it’s supposed to.

          • Bill_Perdue

Democrats are not progressives and not part of the left. They’re right centrists. They whole history is an exercise in selling out.

          • torrentprime

            A) Does that include the handful of Democratic superdelegates, Democratic elected officials, and Democratic voters that support Bernie? Are they all not progressives?
            B) If Democrats and the Democratic Party are such sellouts, then why did Bernie join them? Do you think Bernie is a sellout too?
“I was for 16 years in the House Democratic Caucus, for nine years in the Senate Democratic Caucus… Of course I am a Democrat and running for the Democratic nomination.” Sanders, 2/3/16

Confused about whether you support Sanders!

          • Bill_Perdue

Yes and ask BS why he violated his principles.

“It would be hypocritical of me to run as a Democrat because of the things I have said about the party. …“Why should we work within the Democratic Party if we don’t agree with anything the Democratic Party says?” – Socialist Scholars Conference in New York City, April 1990. http://www.keywiki.org/Socialist_Scholars_Conference_1990

“The Democratic and Republican parties are tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum, they both adhere to an ideology of greed and vulgarity.” – Op-ed in the New York Times, January 1989. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/8/15/1409803/-Introducing-Bernie-Sanders-the-Hypocrite

No, I’m a socialist and don’t think much of any Democrat or Republican.

          • torrentprime

  • monkeyfrog987

    Yep, She’s got to go.

  • JustSayin’

More b.s. to churn lies and discord. Not surprising for the tea baggers

    • lymis

The Republicans, for well over a generation now, have shifted from seeing elections as a means to run a working country or position the US on the world stage, and more as a sports contest, where it’s all about making “our team” win, simply because they ARE “our team.”

Otherwise, there would be more issues where there was actually partisan support. Look at the Obamacare fiasco – everyone actually wants the actual provisions of it, but they can’t stand that Obama gets the credit for it. They want it to be their idea or nobody’s.

Why the hell else would the Republicans be fighting AGAINST veteran’s care and benefits?

  • Stubenville

    Who next; the KKK?

  • Brian

It makes total sense. The Democratic establishment are basically the moderate Republicans of only a few years ago. There is a center/center-right party (Democratic) and far-right party (Republicans).

If Trump doesn’t get his unity, then I predict a lot of GOP establishment endorses Hillary soon.

    • lymis

At the same time, a lot of the people who want to torpedo the Democrats are going to be endorsing the candidates they DON’T want to run against. Having an extreme liberal to run against will be seen as a definite plus to Tea Party extremists, who can then position themselves a the moderates.

There are a lot of behind the scenes think tanks and a lot of big money that are advising groups like this. I sure wouldn’t take anything like this at face value, especially when they position it as “The Democrat has been really good for us” when they have no interest in actually electing the Democrat.

  • davbee

Yeah, the tea party has thrived alright–thrived all the way to a Donald Trump candidacy.

  • HA! This is going to be a fun campaign.

  • DesertSun59

Um, no. They’re endorsing her solely because she supports Hillary. Their aim is to rile up Bernie supporters. Well, they were already riled up way before these endorsements.
