Trailer: Inferno

The Hollywood Reporter recaps:

Columbia Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have released a teaser trailer for Inferno. Tom Hanks is back as symbologist Robert Langdon in the third onscreen installment of Dan Brown’s best-selling series, alongside Felicity Jones, Ben Foster and Irrfan Khan.

In Inferno, Langdon wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia and teams up with Sienna Brooks (Jones), a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories, to stop a deadly global plot related to the medieval philosopher Dante.

Following 2006’s The Da Vinci Code and 2009’s Angels & Demons, Ron Howard again directs the adaptation, featuring a screenplay by David Koepp. Inferno hits theaters Oct. 28.

They were filming in Florence when I was there last year – I was wondering when it would finally come out.

We were there a couple of years ago and ran into folks at the Boboli Gardens that were shadowing the book. They were having great fun.

Place dropping, twice, in as many days. Can I carry your bags, daddy Ray?

Even though Dan Brown has his critics, I thought the first film was not as good as the book (but isn’t that usually the case?). I’ll probably wait till it’s on TV to watch this one.

Oh, yeah, the books are always better than the films. There are a few films that come close, but damn few.

But, these books are so….bad…. I realize it’s just my opinion but I thought his writing was sophomoric and he telegraphs his Big Endings way in advance.

        • SilasMarner

I was speaking of books vs. films in general, not specifically those books. Never read them.

Robert Langdon, making Art History cool!
And yes, the books are MUCH better than the films, but for my students, once they see the movie, they want to read the book. I finished the da Vinci Code in an evening, I couldn’t stop reading!
And, if you haven’t already, check out the annotated version of the da Vinci Code. Very cool.

I wholeheartedly support use of the “evil plot” in this book.

    It’s no “Lesbian Spank Inferno”

    ETA: It’s a comedy.

Amnesia? Really? It was a cute cliche when Rosanna Arquette got it in Desperately Seeking Susan. It’s not so cute on old men.

For the love of…digestion, please tell me there’s not a romantic link between (the characters of) Hanks and Jones! }-0<<<
