Her wispy vocals are perfect for the contrasting feathery flights over heavy trap-leaning R&B beats aesthetic that’s popular right now. And last year’s Unbreakable was an understated yet impressive quasi-return to form with an updated appeal. Her new video for Unbreakable standout “Dammn Baby” finds her in all black killing choreography, which instantly recalls her 1989 hit “Rhythm Nation.” It’s a glitchy black-and-white affair with women of all shapes, sizes, and colors destroying some choreo.
