JAPAN: US Embassy Tweets Marriage Equality Message From Evan Wolfson To Promote Rainbow Week [VIDEO]

Less than a month after last year’s landmark ruling from the Supreme Court, Freedom To Marry held its “going out of business” gala and has since closed its offices. But founder Evan Wolfson is far from retired from fighting for LGBT equality. From the US Embassy in Tokyo: “To mark the beginning of Tokyo Rainbow Week starting tomorrow, here’s a video message from Evan Wolfson, a same-sex marriage pioneer who founded the Freedom to Marry campaign in the U.S.” Watch below!

I like Evan. He worked hard for our cause and is entitled to tweet about its success. His organization had tangible success and after fulfilling their mission went on to other things.

    NOM and HRC take note

    • romanhans

“Like”? I want to suck on his face so hard light can’t escape.

      • IGotDibs

And you are completely free to do just that (and more) AFTER I’ve had my way with the handsome gentleman!

When one of the anti-LGBT trash make the claim (which I think they honestly believe) that gay couples are incapable of loving each other and are only together because of lust, this.

So many of the hetero friends that my hubby and I have have said that they way we look at each other and interact with each other radiates the most love that they have ever seen between two people. Even though we have gone through tons of challenges and sometimes it can be incredibly difficult, I don’t doubt our love or commitment to each other for a second and am very fortunate for our (nearly) 12 years of marriage.

      • Todd20036

Heck, my partner and I still care about each other after knowing each other for over 20 years.

My older sister is twice divorced.

My twin sister stays married to her dead beat husband solely for his pension.

But why spoil the haters’ rants with facts?

      • bkmn

Congrats on your first twelve years and here’s to many, many more years of love.

      • Bad Tom

My husband and I have gotten very similar comments.
& congratulations on the almost 12 years, with many more to come!

        • vorpal

Thanks, Bad Tom, and much love to you and your husband :-).

          • Bad Tom

            Merci bien!

Note how Wolfson and his organization, as well as other players like the ACLU and the Human Rights Campaign, got the job done here in the U.S. No wild theatrics. No indiscriminate people-of-faith bashing. No “them vs. us” rhetoric.

That’s how the adults in the LGBT room do the work.

    • Hank

Unlike the roach, Brian Brown and the rest of NOM, they just will NOT go away!!!…. Grifters!!!

        Well, that part is true.

    Interesting!

    Freedom to Marry closes shop!

NOM is still begging for money!

It’s almost like…rightwing “nonprofits” are just poorly disguised grifts!

    • Tor

      LOL. “Almost!”

  • Todd Allis

    よくできました! Well said, Mr. Wolfson!

    • TimCA

Up voted but have no idea what the characters mean or even what language they are.

(Hoping I haven’t just given my thumbs up to a terrorist threat or something.lol)

      • billbear1961

We are in this together, Tim!

        😀

        • TuuxKabin

          I’m with youse.

      • TuuxKabin

I ‘blocked’ よくできました, clicked on ‘search Google for よくできました and found. Translations are available.

        • TimCA

          “I blocked”

I don’t understand what that means. I’m not very computer savvy. 🙂

          • TimCA

Oh wait. I highlighted the phrase and from there followed your instructions and it made perfect sense. Very effective!!

One of these days, I’d really like to enroll in a class. There are so many aspects of basic day to day computer skill that I have no clue how to do.

          • TuuxKabin

            To ‘block:
            1. place the cursor at the front (or back) of the Japanese expression.
            2. right click
            3. drag the cursor across the word, which ‘blocks/highlights’ the word
            4. left click on the ‘blocked/highlighted’ word(s)
            5. right click on the ‘blocked/highlighted’ word
            6. click ‘search Google for’ (whatever is highlighted).

Easy peasy. It’s like copying and pasting. Hope that explained it. May take a bit of practice but can become second nature, like knowing how to graph an avocado tree, or something gardenie.

          • TimCA

It’s synonymous with the term copy and paste, right? I certainly know how to do that. 🙂

          • TuuxKabin

yes. it is the same. you’ve got it.

          • TimCA

            🙂

      • Bad Tom

        “Good job!”
        ——-
Google translate had no problem identifying the characters as Japanese, and rendering them into English.

      • B Snow

        It means “Well done!”

  • CCleverly

    Thanks Evan… you rock 🙂

  • Luis De California

Great week: Isle of Man’s bill was passed Tuesday, Colombia’s Court order should be finalized today and tomorrow the Faroe Islands votes on their marriage bill 🙂

  • Johnny Wyeknot

    One of our best.

Soo keeping my fingers crossed for Japan. I love Japan. They’ve got a ways to go on LGBT equality, but they’ve made some good progress, I have faith in them. Same goes for South Korea and China.

  • ManCrush

I’d love to have Evan Wolfson spray his load all over my furry face and then use his fingers to scoop up his juice and feed it to my hungry, grateful mouth.

    • Lindoro Almaviva

Maybe not that, but i would not throw him out of bed, ever (unless he accidentally falls as he is being manhandled)
