Tony Perkins: Stop Mocking Our PayPal Button [AUDIO]

Apparently I struck a hate-nerve yesterday as Tony Perkins last night took to his radio show to say, “Those of you on the left who have been trolling, take note – PayPal will not be on our site for much longer. Those of you who are foaming at the mouth can take it easy.” More from Right Wing Watch:

Perkins said that businesses who oppose the North Carolina law may have “Stockholm syndrome” when it comes to the LGBT community, expressing anger that the business community “has been hijacked” by LGBT rights advocates and has failed to stand with Religious Right activists who have strongly supported pro-corporate measures in the past. “I wouldn’t necessarily say they are being held hostage by the LGBT community, but they are certainly being used as puppets,” Perkins said.

  • Todd20036

Except Toni would probably HAVE left Paypal on his site if JMG didn’t call him out on it.

    Bummer, Perky

    • Chucktech

I’m not convinced that he won’t. This little foot-in-mouth incident with PayPal will blow over in one or two more news cycles and PayPal will still be a payment option for his grift site.

    • Harley

Too bad PayPal doesn’t just cut them off and close the account. Just call it “religous conviction” and PayPal’s covered from those pesky nondiscrimination laws.

  • Herald

My oh My, he sounds like the kid who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

    • Steverino

Or his buddy, the kid who got caught with his finger up his sister’s hoo-haw.

  • Peter

As opposed to being hijacked by right wing religious bigots, which I am sure you would prefer Toni.

  • Rex

“Certainly being used as puppets” said the Puppet Master.

  • bambinoitaliano

Good. Hit him with the Apple Iphone too. We will see how far he will compromise his “integrity”. He and his organization has always been a sell out to greed, money and power. Everything Jesus and God opposed.

    • Grimes

      Integrity. HA!

    • Marides48

      No!
As the true believers everywhere know, God/Jeebus created everything, including greed, money & power?

      • GC

If so, God/Jesus created people who are LGBTQI* as well, and meant it that way… so how dare Perkins et al. oppress fellow human beings made in God’s image?

        (But that’s logic… never mind…)

        • Harry Weaver

But God created them MALE and FEMALE. Therefore marriage is between male and female.

    • jimbo65

Yeah, always found it funny how they railed about Apple being run by a big ‘mo. But when it comes time to put their money where their mouth is, they wouldn’t dare part with their iphones and other Apple products. Same with Disney. Yeah good luck trying to boycott the big Mouse, whose tentacles are deeply rooted in the entertainment industry. “Sorry kids, can’t see that new Star Wars movie, because of da dirty gayz.

      • bambinoitaliano

That’s my point if he is going to start holier than thou on Paypal, let’s start getting him off every consumer products and services that have a strong support for the LBGT. We will see this hypocrite can live without them.

      • Harry Weaver

The little kids have got other worries about sex with adults. And that in time will backfire, I predict that they will form gangs, and the outcome will be beyond what any police department will be able to control. The 3% now, dribbles down to less and less to maybe 1% and then the rest of the gay blades hide in their closets.

    • Captain Jack

Maybe he can use a string and 2 tin cans to make a call.

    • Frostbite

Why stop at the iPhone? Android and Windows phones are produced by companies that support LGBT as well. So are Blackberries. Then there’s Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems. They should just give up technology and go back to their caves.

      • Rex

In many ways, they never left their caves.

      • bambinoitaliano

Not stopping at Iphone at all. Just cornering him and his organization one product at a time. We just need him to rant about the pro homo companies and pick it off one by one.

      • shrpblnd

They also need to give up their Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube accounts. What OS does their web servers run? Microsoft, Linux… sorry can’t use those. Who is hosting their servers, a cloud based provider, like Amazon, Google, or Microsoft? Sorry, no can do.

Giving up PayPal is just the start.

  • Bryan

We’ll stick with our biblical principals, but after we have a godly replacement for Paypal– we wouldn’t want to limit our donation options…

    • Gianni

You got that right. Will be interesting to see what replaces PayPal.

      • Exatron

It almost makes me wish I could start a similar company with a thin veneer of being friendly to them then give all the profits to groups that fight for LGBT rights.

        • Gianni

Would be a real hoot if a large enough gay organization would set up a dummy company to front a PayPal-like organization and convince Tony to use them instead. Then when it’s all well established and working, down the road, they can then reveal that Tony has be getting his funds through a gay setup. Not only would we be the reason he gets his money, but we’d also be the channel that gets it to him. He might even cry on camera asking God for forgiveness for his sin. “Boohoo, I have sinned against you, my Lord.”

          • Harry Weaver

That’s why there is a massive underground of hackers NOT gay friendly locating them.

      • Dan

        PrayPal?

        • oikos

          Preypal

        • Princess Lardass

I was thinking “HatePal” but that would make the FRC’s intentions too obvious(as if they weren’t already).

        • Todd20036

          Puppet Pal

      • james_from_cambridge

What can he do? He’ll have to ask the old ladies that visit his site to send envelopes full of cash.

          • oikos

She’s married? Holy FSM, who would want to live with that craziness?

          • Harley

Look at Kim Davis. She’s married…….FOUR TIMES.

          • Sporkfighter

And she found one pathetic fool who married her twice!

          • Harry Weaver

Good. At least they’re not gay.

          • Harry Weaver

Looks pretty lively to me. Go mamma!

        • Gianni

If he asked, they’d do it.

          • james_from_cambridge

*Sigh* I really need to start me a Christian cult like these folks. What a cash cow it would be! Of course, it’ll be an all-male cult and have penis size requirements.

At least when you’re presenting your want list to Santa you can sit on his lap.

Here’s a wikipedia list of Online Payment companies.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_online_payment_service_providers

Perkins can use Amazon…..oh no, they support LGBT so that’s no good.
Maybe Square, Inc? Oh, but they’re based in San Fran and you know that’s where all the Gays are…..
Maybe he can use a pyament company based in Russia or Southeast Asia….I’m sure they’re secure to process bigot dollars….
It’s hard to be a hater in 2016…….

  • JT

Will PerKKKins give back all the money he’s received via PayPal?

    • Gianni

Do let us know if that happens. (I won’t hold my breath. Being God’s agent against the gay only goes so far.)

  • Prion

    ..,

    • BobSF_94117

      * Exception: Mormonism, a scam from the very first day.

    • GC

In a religion, the leaders might have genuinely believed from the very beginning.

It wasn’t such a big stretch from “I will my hand to move, and it moves!” to “There must be spirits making the sun, wind, rain, etc. move”; then to “Maybe there’s one spirit in charge of everything.” (I forget where I read/heard that.)

There tends to be plenty of vagueness in gods’ promises, and plenty of room for confirmation bias. “You see?! My prayer worked!”

I’m sure many of the secular and skeptical readers here have encountered Marshall Brain’s video “The Best Optical Illusion in the World”; if “yes”, “no”, and “wait” are all equally acceptable as “answers” to prayer, praying to a jug of milk works just as well.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jk6ILZAaAMI

And as a formerly Neopagan friend pointed out, Christian prayers, magickal rituals, and other practices have in common that they can prepare a person to make other changes, such as being more open to new opportunities, treating a family member with more patience, taking a difficult but necessary step in one’s life. Dr. Stephen Uhl, former Catholic priest turned atheist and psychologist, attributes some of the perceived power of prayer to the self-hypnotic nature of some prayers and rituals, helping people do things they didn’t consciously think they could.

Then again, Powdermilk Biscuits are also known for “giving shy persons the strength to get up and do what needs to be done”! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyJAalspaKA

  • EdmondWherever

So he believes in a free market, but he also believes that these businesses are acting voluntarily. Cognitive dissonance, thy name is Christianity.

  • Prion

    .,.

    • Rebecca Gardner

      ^^^THIS^^^ is so awesome!

  • CB

    I found Perkkkins option:
PAYGOD–It’s so much more than a pal. It’s the service that lets you put your mammon where our mouth is. Donate, tithe or more with just a few quick clicks. Or choose the Holy Surrender option, which simply turns complete access to your bank accounts over to us. You’ll get through the eye of that pesky old needle in no time!

  • Blake Jordan

Pathetic little PerKKKins, scd is an option…

  • Silver Badger

Foaming at the mouth? Sounds like Mr. Perkins got scared by the mirror again.

  • another_steve

Oy, Tony bubbe shanala. The spigot is drying up for you. Hate-the-homosexuals is not the cash cow it once was.

    Move on, tatela.

Find another group to hate and raise money from.

    • Gianni

What other group could possibly bring in the funds that hating us does? He gives thanks to God each night for providing the gay. It’s top of the heap in money-making ploys.

      • another_steve

Not so much anymore. It’s increasingly less fashionable to hate the gays. Note how during the Republican Presidential debates the gays seldom came up.

The great unwashed masses know they have queer kids, queer nieces, queer nephews, queer co-workers. They watch girlfriend Ellen on TV everyday. They like her. She makes them smile.

No, they need to find another group to hate.

Single women over the age of 40, maybe.

        Or people with hangnails.

        • Harry Weaver

Is it hatred? NO it isn’t. It’s a hatred of the lifestyle that needs be outlawed for the health of the public, and for the safety of the children who are being used by gays as sex objects. Nambla, boy love, and Butterfly kisses, girl love. Both are pedophile organizations that are seeking legislation to legally have sex with children.

      • Harry Weaver

That’s what you think. The gays are getting a payback all right. It’s aids. That’s what GAY stands for: Got Aids Yet?

        • Gianni

Did I say something that isn’t true about how stirring up hating gay people brings in lots and lots of free money to all those lovely fanatical Christianista organizations? GAY = Got Aids Yet…..that’s semi-sort-of clever. Did you make that up?

          • Harry Weaver

The saying actually came from a drugged up person dying of aids. And GAY stands for Got Aids Yet. I wonder if that was a warning to others also going through the slow, painful death of aids? And once you have it, there is no getting rid of it. Now that my hackers have you, know you and your location. Thanks for the email, fool.

  • YellowSubroutine

If the button actually disappears, the only thing it’s a sign of is that no one ever used it. No Christian grifter gang would willingly discontinue a money funnel.

    • Gianni

He just might change that picture of the donation button, but it would actually still be PayPal. There are all those not-well-known ways to spoof addresses and create phony official looking emails; reroute things to your won site, etc.

  • Rex

Maybe Tony should start his own pay system – “GriftPal”

    • Rex

      Maybe “PrayPal”

      • Rex

        or “HatePal”

        • KCMC

          sounds like rough trade buddy

        • Harry Weaver

Hate for the gays who are always trying to get legislation passed to have sex with kids.

      • KCMC

        PreyPal. fixed it.

        • Rex

          Much better, thanks.

        • Gianni

  • LovesIrony

so, his 1/2 a brain will be reduced.

  • MikeBx2

Won’t be on your site much longer? Was it too complicated to remove it before you called them extremists and those who patronize them as half brained? Doesn’t take much brains at all to see blatant hypocrisy.

  • Tor

I for one, welcome our LGBT overlord puppet masters.

    • m_lp_ql_m

  • JoeMyGod

The PayPal option seen above is STILL on the FRC’s site today. They couldn’t even go without grifting for ONE DAY while they set up another option.

    • Rex

Easier for them to stop breathing for a day then to stop the cash flow.

      • Bad Tom

For them, it amounts to the same thing.

    • jmax

Yeah, that’s weird, isn’t it? Its almost as if they place money above their religious beliefs. And we all know that can’t be true, right?

These people only care about using hate to make money, that is their whole scam. They have no morals and are just hypocrites. I doubt they will get rid of PayPal. He will ended up like Franklin Graham moving out his money from one gay friendly bank to another.

    • Rebecca Gardner

If it actually does come off the site we should check back a couple of weeks later because they surely restore it once they think their self-generate conspiracy has blown over.

      • Snarkaholic

Especially since many people are (rightfully) reluctant to give their personal financial information to yet another pay site.

    • BlueberriesForMe

I guess the Lard is too busy to update the website for those poor little lambs.

    • Pollos Hermanos

Just like Franklin Graham. He calls PayPal “hypocrite of the year” yet he has PayPal buttons on TWO different ministry pages.

    • kelven

As someone mentioned, he is hoping it will blow over with a few news cycles. We’ll have to make sure it doesn’t! I’ll bet he whines about the persecution for a bit, then makes up some lame ass excuse why he should keep Paypal. Grift is stronger than Jesus in his world.

    • Gest2016

Is he going to stop using computers all together, because the makers are some of our most vocal advocates? Is he going to stop using Twitter and Google? Is he going to stop flying in planes or driving a car? Those industries are firmly in our corner. Is he going to stop eating? Food manufacturers are some of our biggest supporters, in both their hiring and advertising. Is he going to stop wearing clothes (please, god, no!!!) because we know there are 1 or 2 gays in th design industry?

If the ridiculous fool were to distance itself from anyone calling for equality for LGBTQs, he couldn’t survive (at least not in the opulence his bigotry pays for. )

    • Rex

It is a pleasant thought if all these bigots would just remove themselves from anything connected to the LGBT community, but they can’t. In fact, they’ve built a business on opposing us. If we went away, they couldn’t grift money to oppose us. They NEED us. They’re the ones wanting special rights, we just want equal rights. I never thought I’d see marriage equality in my lifetime, but I have; I hope I have the chance to also see the demise of these hate groups as well – it’s only a matter of time.

      • m_lp_ql_m

So essentially, it’s all our own fault. Damn that Alan Turing.

For someone who extols the free market principle, Tony sure cries when those principles of business don’t coincide with his narrow perverted world view.

  • sherman

Hey, we’re not foaming at the mouth. We’re just enjoying our semen lattes.

    • Joe in PA

      lip-smacking good. mmm mmm mmm

    • sherman

I searched the page to see if someone else had posted something similar. There were 5 hits on “semen”. Great minds I thought. Then I saw that the word advertisement contained semen.

Which reminds me, when I was in the seventh a grade a favorite teacher would write that week’s spelling words on the chalkboard. The room was divided into 2 teams, and one at a time we would go to the board and circle words contained in the words. I don’t recall if we had any “advertisement semen” situations, but it probably was unavoidable.

As was singing the Name Game on the band bus and using the name Chuck (actually a classmate). If we all hadn’t stopped singing right after the offensive word, the band director probably wouldn’t have looked back at us in horror.

      • GC

Well, the result could’ve been taken as a come-on… was Chuck cute and available? And did he feel similarly about any of his bandmates? 🙂

The best part of this is that we know for certain that Tonette and FRC keep an eye on JMG. It’s good to know that PerKKKins knows that, in some circles at least, his steady stream of hatred and bullshit does not go unchallenged.

    • TrollopeReader

it’d be nice if “major” media did the same … and learned a thing or two about their Tony ….the more they challenge with actual facts, the more he has to squirm, the more he has to look them in the eye and *not* lie … and the more he would be exposed for the frauding grifter he is …

      • Secure

        Oh yes you did!

      • Treant

Josh had to learn his finger puppetry from somebody.

      • I thought it was more of a whole fist/wrist/arm to elbow puppet.

How exactly is the LGBT community hijacking big business ? Tony and his friends are glad to point out that we’re (depending on who’s talking) 1-10% of the population. Christians are somewhere around 70% or more. So unless a whole lot of straight people are with us, we simply don’t have the numbers to force big business to do anything.

But that would mean that there are a whole lot of straight people who agree with the idea of treating LGBT people with equality and fairness… and that has to be absolutely terrifying to Tony and his friends. That the majority of people don’t agree with him and find his positions to be repugnant. Easier to pretend that somehow a very small percentage of people are forcing everyone else to agree with sin… must be Satan. Right?

    • Gustav2

Tony’s and his compatriots’ real desperation is Americans are going to church less and less. Less than 1 in 5 attend weekly services. They have to do something now before they start to lose their fake majority. The fact that more than half of self identified ‘Evangelicals’ are voting for Trump tells you how little they really care about religion. The label has been a fall back position for many white people.

    • boatboy_srq

“Christians” may be 70+% of the population, but Xtians – Perkins’ own special Blessed Elect variety – are far, far fewer. Which is part of the problem: Xtians fool Christians into thinking they want the same things, and that they’re under attack somehow, when what’s really happening is that Xtians are manipulating the rest and are seeking their own special privilege (and heresy, if truth be told).

  • mikensf74

Who is Tony even talking too? There are less than 1000 “followers” on Right Wing Watch? I had assumed it was a grand national program picked up on radio/tv outlets throughout. But really it’s just a small (and getting smaller) group of right wing extremists edging closer to the end of their very terrible life

    • KnownDonorDad

This was on his radio show, reported by RWW. I don’t know what kind of audience Perkins reaches.

  • m_lp_ql_m

I don’t think he quite gets the meaning of the term “Stockholm Syndrome.”

    • lymis

Well, Sweden does recognize same-sex couples. So there’s that.

  • David Walker

Congratulations, Joe. If we ever needed proof that PerKKKins reads JMG, this is it. I kind of wonder if there isn’t a bit of the old fap-fap-fap going on as he reads it.

  • Treant

When Pony Twerkins removes the Paypal link and returns–say–three months of donations received via Paypal, I shall cease to mock.

Until then, honey, we own your Paypal-accepting white ass. Don’t worry, your ass is completely, utterly, completely safe. We’re not interested in it.

  • Gianni

Apparently, CEO’s and governing bodies of big businesses can’t make their own decisions. We, the gay. make those decisions for them.

  • Necessitas

Why on earth did PayPal ever let a SPLC certified hate-group profit from there services in the first place? PayPal need to be consistent, and have some rules about who may not use their services. I realize they are good guys, but this is as much their fault as anyone’s.

  • The Professor

Hey Tony – have a gander at a few of the folks that will be walking into the women’s rooms under these fucking bigoted, bullshit, tax money-sucking, ass-holish laws you and your ilk are getting passed by those too ignorant to give them a thorough think. You want these dudes peeing next to your wife and little girl? Well here you go…

There you go again, Miss Tonette! We all know the truth about you, and you are desperate that you supporters don’t find out who the real Miss Tonette is. If I won the Powerball, I’d hire a nice PI to dig into your far from blameless life and expose you for the lying, hypocritical closet case you are.

  • 2patricius2

What is he going to replace it with? A PayPerkins app?

    • The Professor

He’ll use whatever Cottonelle and the Indiana Pizza People used.
      Christo-give? Jesus-Bucks?

      • lymis

        Desperation?

      KKKash.

          Seconded.

      • billbear1961

        lol

  • DenCo

Time to remove the tax breaks for religious “organizations”.

  • James

Your conviction isn’t very strong if you continue to give an organization you vehemently oppose even a single penny.

  • bkmn

What’s he going to do? Switch to Wells Fargo, USBank or any of the other banks that are firmly committed to LGBT equality? We know he wouldn’t be around for long if he wasn’t getting donations.

  • boatboy_srq

“I wouldn’t necessarily say they are being held hostage by the LGBT community, but they are certainly being used as puppets,”

Says the puppetmaster of the Xtian Reichwing who manipulates millions of gullible Christians into supporting his Xtian wingnuttery.

    • AJayne

Not to even mention the nice living he makes off those gullible puppets…

    • Harry Weaver

There are six major ways the gay community is leeching into society.
      Victim status
      Sympathetic media
      Confuse and neutralize the churches
      Slander and stereotype Christians
Bait and switch (hide their true nature
      Intimidation
I know about a church in my very city that attempted to disrupt a major denomination
conference, and the members were arrested by state police.
This sane church before had been paid a large sum of money from the gay community or simply bought their way into the church. Money talks, but the majority of the conference bulks, and had them jailed. HA

      • boatboy_srq

Did you really just go there?

Your list of ways “the gay community” leaches into society (your spelling, BTW, gives you away) could just as easily be used to describe the Prosperity Gospel, Dominionist Xtian fundamentalists and their relationship with Christendom.

Victim status: how many times has “assault on Christianity” or “repression of Christians” been used to dupe mainstream Christians into supporting some radical interpretation of Scripture that only helps Xtians? Please note: I use Xtian to describe those following fundamentally flawed interpretation of Scripture that insists on demonizing their neighbors, amassing personal wealth, and planning for their own specific denomination’s overall control of all Christendom – complete with all its wealth and property; whereas “Christians” and “Christendom” refer to the larger Body of Christ, which at last count was over 2 billion persons.

Sympathetic media: with Newscorp firmly in Xtians’ corner, and mainstream outlets from Christian Science Monitor through PBS and the remaining Big Four broadcasters unwilling to take a stand beyond “opinions differ,” consider how often Xtian misrepresentation of their perceived ills one encounters.

Confuse and neutralize the churches: frankly this one speaks for itself.

Slander and stereotype Christians: “slander” may be a stretch (although I have heard adherents to some more extreme sects refer to the rest of Christendom as “wogs”, which is hardly flattering), but stereotype is quite applicable – especially as “Christians” are ripe for alliance when Xtians are “oppressed”. And yet those Xtians are rarely to be found when Christendom at large calls on their assistance teaching things lik tolerance, peace, forgiveness and the hard-learned lesson of the Reformation that disagreements over Scriptural interpretation and liturgy aren’t worth killing millions to resolve.

Intimidation: Honestly, honey, if you feel intimidated by a bunch of bears, drag queens and leathermen just trying to survive, it sounds like you have deeper issues than we can address here. But as for intimidation of Christians by Xtians, it happens regularly – especially when Christendom stands between an Xtian and some mote of wealth or power. Intimidation also works on their own followers: consider how many tear-filled prayerful admonitions to the faithful to send donations for some specific need or agenda item – when the requestor has a 6000 sq ft home ten cars and two aircraft.

It’s not in your list, but Commitment to Hypocrisy is well up there: consider how Ted Haggard, Eddie Long, Jimmy Swaggert, Jim Bakker and other “leaders” among Xtians have denounced any and every social behavior besides committed monogamy and moderation (if not actual abstinence), only to be found out with different extramarital partners (frequently underage) and controlled substance habits. (We won’t even discuss the Roman Catholic endemic problem with priests and children.) The caterwauling to the faithful over the sins of others sounds a lot less forceful and a lot more defensive when the curtain is drawn back and the sins of the loudest shouters are laid bare. Yet these same people expect forgiveness, not merely from God, not merely from their own congregation, but from Christendom at large – the same Christendom they denounce as “Fallen,” “unSaved”, “unWashed” or whatever other slang for “not a True Xtian” when their comfort level is higher.

I doubt you would recognize any of these things: after all, Xtians are always Right, always Blessed, and always Guided by Scripture – except, perhaps, that time outside the opening of Last Temptation of Christ, where some of us who know The Book as well as they traded the protesters verse for verse for the five whole minutes it took the protest to pack up and depart in confusion. You can play Jeremiah all you want – but when your observance and doctrine have been rewritten so thoroughly that First Church of Mammon is an apt moniker for your congregation perhaps it’s not the LGBT community that needs to take a step back here.

        • boatboy_srq

It’s worth adding here that your words were used against African Americans 50 years ago; against Methodists 250 years ago; against Puritans 350 years ago; against Protestants 450 years ago; against Cathars 800 years ago; and against Christians 1800 years ago. Christendom has survived each of those moments.

  • Bruno

Mon Dieu, WHATEVER WILL PAYPAL DO without those huge funds coming in from the American Taliban and their interwebz?

    • lymis

      Party?

  • Wynter Marie Starr

Is there a christian version of PayPal? Pony Express?

    • teeveedub

I think that’s referred to as money changers in the temple.

      • Wynter Marie Starr

They don’t get it, do they? They can’t do business without those that support the LGBT community. It isn’t about being a puppet or being brainwashed; it’s about fairness toward our fellow Americans and the fact that most people have LGBT family or friends and want them treated fairly.

The business community isn’t about to discriminate. Not without losing a lot of their customers. There’s more allies now than haters and bigots and we speak with our wallets. The other side just can’t compete on that front.

        • Harry Weaver

So what? We have already lost a lot in our economy already in business. I didn’t hear anyplace where the housing business downturn was LGBT related. Now people having homes where they owe more than they used to be worth but not now. How about the big three car companies having to get bailed out by the feds? Not LGBT related. Hmm. Some people need to go back to school I think and study economics.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

I have apples and you have oranges. Try some reading comprehension. I was speaking about Toni and his KKK buddies, not the economy in general. Why not join a conversation that is taking place now and not from two days ago? There’s another story about PayPal. I’m sure your “insight” would be well received. Hmm, I think someone needs to find his balls.

      • Harry Weaver

Money changers in the temple? Right kick out the LGBT community and free people from their gripl

    • KnownDonorDad

Seriously, what are they going to use? Tech companies are typically gay-friendly.

      • Wynter Marie Starr

I know. It’s delicious, isn’t it? Normally I’m not one for gloating, but Toni and Co. really piss me off.

      • Harry Weaver

What is more people “go on a diet” and see how when in mass people resist the LGBT community and shove the militants into a frenzy and keep the others in the closet where their attitudes do not poison society.

    • Harry Weaver

Would that make a difference? So the threats of pulling business away from non friendly to LGBT? So what? Those are not the only non LGBT friendly businesses. It might just make room for non supportive LGBT business. Think about what that could mean? The more pressure against the LGBT the better the odds of turning legislation against them and banning all marriages, even making them all null and void. I would push that hard if I were president!

      • Wynter Marie Starr

Any business that is not for equality in every sense of the word will fail in the years to come. I’m a straight ally and I won’t support any business that discriminates.

You would push hard to ban all marriages? Or just the same sex ones?

As far as making a difference, people that are anti LGBT should hold on to their deeply held beliefs and not use any business that supports the LGBT community. Of course, that limits their choices, but they continue to use such services as PayPal, FB, Apple, and Microsoft. You know what that makes them? Hypocrites who have deeply held prejudices.

  • TimJ

And all this time I thought it was “PlayPal”. Disappointing to me, no doubt to Tony as well. (ps, love the tags you put on this story!)

  • TJay229

    Funny…
Tony mentions Texas, North Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana.. But skipped Georgia, I wonder why…. Georgia surely eats all those states Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner when it comes to Jobs. But, that would be asking him to acknowledge the truth.

    • TexasBoy

HA HA HA HA, Tony thinks Texas has a friendly tax environment. While we have no income tax (yet) our property and sales taxes are outrageous. What we do have is fairly cheap labor

  • TexasBoy

But Tony, I thought you said boycotts were financial terrorism…I guess it depends upon who is doing the boycotting, huh?

    • Harry Weaver

I think boycotting can be a good thing. Boycott all gay run businesses, before that, buy them for straight persons, the ones where the products are good and usable, then any business has the right to post a sign that states that they have the right to refuse service to anyone they please, and take the rule to the limit and declare it to be run by a religious organization that states it does not have to do business with LGBT on religious reasons. The religious that don’t agree with LGBT does have that right.

  • John Masters

Perhaps he can use “God’s Glamorous Girls” to collect his donations. They are on list of 334 businesses (supposedly), but part of the 82 or so willing to have their name displayed, that have signed up supporting HB2.

    • lymis

      The Holy Hookers?

      • John Masters

I am scared to think what that is, but so help me, it’s on the list of those that signed the letter of support. Their website link doesn’t work, but they have a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/GodsGlamorousGirls

  • WNY

So why is he using any Apple or Microsoft computers/programs since they are all so gay supportive?

    • lymis

Don’t leave out Linux. They’re on our side, too.

      • NZArtist

        And google/Android.

  • B

Christians are so devoted to man woman marriage, they don’t need PayPal. They will take all the time necessary for a check or money order because they are so faithful to God and family and the FRC. They are holy assholes.

  • Dale Snyder

Ah, newsflash Mr. PerKKKins: we are not foaming at the mouth. We are laughing at your 3,568,973rd example of sheer hypocrisy.

    • Bob Conti

Well, I did do a spit-take when I read Joe’s piece yesterday, but I wouldn’t say that constituted “foaming.”

  • lymis

yeah, Tony. Just like the people who supported the black Civil Rights movement were puppets being used “against their own race.”

  • Harry Underwood

I wonder if this is a sea change for the right wing. Now, all of a sudden, they’ve found themselves at odds with corporations when those corporations expose an inkling of giving a damn for their workers and customers’ safeties outside of religious confines.

This is apparently also what the Koch Brothers and Cato Institute, the pro-corp glibertarians who spearhead the undermining of unions and voting rights, are finding out: that their alliance with the religious right is poison when those corporations turn their backs on or undermine religious bulwarks.

To take off Deray McKeeson, “Watch religion work.”

    • lymis

I’ve been saying for years that the vast majority in the middle simply didn’t care, and believes more in not making waves and in going along. As long as the perception was that the majority was anti-gay, they didn’t mind going along with acting anti-gay and not calling out the bigots, but the moment that the tipping point hit, they’d all shift to not particularly caring and going along with the new perceived majority of pro-gay, or gay-unconcerned people.

We’ve hit that point in most of the country, and will hit it in the US South pretty damn quick.

Tony, you haven’t lost the majority and these people and companies haven’t changed their minds. They STILL have a priority of not making waves and going along with the prevailing sentiment. They’ve just stopped letting you get away with thinking they were at all on your side.

  • Bob Conti

Yes, because multi-billion dollar international corporations lack the wherewithall to make corporate policy decisions. Rather, it MUST be the amazing magical unicorn powers that we “THE GAYS” possess. This man becomes a bigger dipshit with every passing day.

  • lymis

    Is there a Grindr button?

  • Cuberly

Bigot wants to lecture about stockholm syndrome?

  • John

“they are certainly being used as puppets” said the man who is a puppet to his imaginary friend in the sky.

  • Justin

But, Tony. Everything about you inspires mockery. It cries for it.

  • Ninja0980

Funny thing, they want people to reject Paypal but only after they’ve used it to send them money.
Gawd would be very displeased with their greed.

    • Harry Weaver

tsk, tsk. I don’t use it anymore, for sure.

  • Mark

Oh CHURL! Isn’t this the scene where Perk-e-o drinks the poison? I have to watch!

  • Octavio

Joe: I’m certain you must get tired and that we, your devoted followers, often work your last good buddhist nerve — but it is a great thing you do for all of us and I, for one, am extremely grateful. May the Tony Perkins of the world writhe in cootie bites. You da’ man! 🙂

  • Mark

Oh perKKKY – just think of all that homosexual money flowing over the lines – getting all commingled upinya xtian boyz…..

  • Bullshit, it’ll never be removed. Perkins will do as he always does: Deflect for a while until people forget, then move on some new spittle-flecked hate-rage tantrum.

    • Harry Weaver

But the all the people will not forget, especially when people keep it stirring and resisting. I know of the six sick moves the LGBT community is using to seduce the public into feeling sorry for them. I can feel for the ones who have been seduced into the movement, but that is limited when the gays push themselves into every religion they can trying to make religious people feel sorry for them even when the gays overall don’t believe in anything but their right to their unnatural sex activity.

  • Johnny Wyeknot

I never thought I would live to see the day that Tony Perkins would admit that the Gays were so powerful as to be the puppeteers of big business!

    • AJayne

Aw, c’mon – this is a downgrade compared to controlling their god’s weather impulses…

    • Harry Weaver

Lots of monkey business? What happens to you and all your friends and to those who screw around and come down with aids? I’m surprised and don’t understand why you don’t declare war on the medical industry for not finding a cure. Monkey to man. Hm, was that sex with an animal that got it started? That’ s been rumored.

      • Johnny Wyeknot

        Nice try Harry.

  • billbear1961

You struck one of his nerves, did you, Joe?

    Strike it AGAIN!

    • Harry Weaver

Could the poor little “pity party” gays it looks like lots of your nerves have been hit!

  • billbear1961

    Strike the bastard another blow!

    https://youtu.be/BaE-kMCY-NA

  • JustSayin’

LGBT people did not hijack business, we just are smart enough to be the most desired category of employee…..the ones with an education that does NOT include being told Jeebus rode a dinosaur to school, that the universe is only 6000 years old, or the Jeebus was really walking the Desert around Utah with his blond hair blue eyed self.

  • StraightGrandmother

The poor right wing extreemist Christians, remember they called a boycott when Ellen was chosen as a spokesperson, remember the General Mills boycott when General Mills supported the fight in the State referndum in Minnesota? Oh yeah, Apple computer, so many they are all just sort of a blur.

  • Itsatarp

It would take all of half a minute to remove the button from their site. If they have not done it by now, they probably never will.

  • Tom (Winnipeg)

“Stockholm Syndrome”–who would have thought that those brains understood the concept? Aren’t they so indignant that LGBT rights are becoming a reality far beyond their expectations? We are far from the closet and I for one want it to stay that way. This religious stuff needs to be obliterated.

    • Harry Weaver

That will never be possible, not even for thousands of years it’s been tried. “To dream the impossible dream” becomes your theme song.

  • The Sentinel

Tony Perkins reads JOE.MY.GOD. daily. Fact.

  • shelleybear

    “My god mother…BLOOD”
Every damned time I see anything with Tony Perkins name on it.
