Caitlyn Jenner is ready to make nice. On Monday night, the reality star posted a photo of herself posing with presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton and a group of pals, including actress Candis Cayne, who already endorsed the Democrat.
A Clinton campaign source recalls for PEOPLE that the photo was taken in January in Iowa after Jenner waited in the lobby of Clinton’s hotel “with lots of other people” angling to get a picture with the candidate when she eventually passed through.
It’s a bit of a flip-flop for Jenner, a lifelong Republican, who previously voiced support for conservative Ted Cruz and suggested Donald Trump “would be very good for women’s issues” during an I Am Cait clip – much to the shock of her fellow transgender advocates.
Mediaite adds:
Jenner’s message might come as a surprise to some, considering her Republican preferences and her recent tirades against Clinton on her show. Jenner’s condemnations have included ranking Donald Trump above Clinton on women’s issues, and calling the former Secretary a “fucking liar” and a “political hack.”
