Silently Protesting Muslim Woman Booted From Trump Rally To Jeers And Insults From Crowd [VIDEO]

CNN reports:

A Muslim woman wearing a hijab was escorted out of Donald Trump’s campaign event on Friday by police after she stood up in silent protest during Trump’s speech.

Rose Hamid, a 56-year-old flight attendant sitting in the stands directly behind Trump, stood up Friday during Trump’s speech when the Republican front-runner suggested that Syrian refugees fleeing war in Syria were affiliated with ISIS.

Despite her silence, Trump supporters around her began chanting Trump’s name — as instructed by Trump campaign staff before the event in case of protests — and pointed at Hamid and Marty Rosenbluth, the man alongside her who stood up as well.

As they were escorted out, Trump supporters roared — booing the pair and shouting at them to “get out.” One person shouted, “You have a bomb, you have a bomb,” according to Hamid.

As you’d expect, right wing sites are claiming that the woman was “paid plant” by leftists/Obama/Clinton/Sanders/Soros.  In the second clip below, she recounts her ejection.

  • Blake Jordan

If it is even staged at all, it is far more likely that one of the other rethuglican candidates did this, in an attempt to cause “problems” for trump… and the added benefit of trump accusing democrats, possibly making them look bad too…

    • Drayfield

I thought the same thing or trump pays people to do this so he makes the news every time.

  • sw42

    That woman has balls.

    • DaddyRay

After seeing what they have done to other protesters at tRump rallies she certainly does.

    • Gustav2

Too bad she needed to be escorted out…for her own safety.

    • Gerry Fisher

      • sw42

        Love that!

    • She is really well spoken. She is a great face for American Muslims.

  • Michael Rush

That’s good protesting , if she was removed and non-disruptive it makes them look like …. what they are.

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

Yep, … they sure look like a bunch of fascist goons.

      • Michael Rush

I was just looking at the people sitting around her , white entitlement .

        • Dreaming Vertebrate

I was referring generally to the mindless Trump booster, not specific people in her vicinity. She herself has said that some of those sitting near her were quite supportive as she had struck up conversations with them earlier.

        • Bj Lincoln

He does draw an older white crowd. Much like most GOPers.

          • Michael Rush

Why do none of them understand that this isn’t working ? No ability to adapt to reality ?

    • Michael Abbett

They’re like people being ejected from a bar for being assholes but still continue to yell insults as the bouncer shoves them out the door. That generation can only make America better by taking a dirt nap.

  • Sam_Handwich

Of course she got the boot! This type of person is the biggest threat to Trump and the modern conservative movement – she completely dismantles the hysterical GOP narrative using only calm, rational words.

    • Todd20036

Actually, what she does is show anyone who’s not a trumpet that there is nothing but hate and bluster in Trump’s camp.

  • Brian in Valdosta

Imagine … a country in which differences and diversity were not only tolerated, but celebrated . Encouraged, even.

Imagine … a country in which people thought about their actions, measured their words, and considered others before speaking and acting.

Imagine … a country in which all candidates to political office were actually intelligent people who understood such things as economics, science, and sociology, and who did not engage in demagoguery to whip their voter base into a mindless frenzy.

Imagine … a country in which voters were actually well informed about and interested in the issues that affected them and their country.

Imagine … a country in which the almighty dollar was not almighty.

Imagine … a country in which education actually mattered on a large scale.

Sadly, that is not this country.

Imagine… a country without sharia law. Imagine… a country where Christians are not targeted by scum. Imagine… a country where children are not raped by muslims. Imagine… a country where women are not treated as slaves by muslims.

      • teeveedub

I defy you to demonstrate factually one single instance where sharia law has been implemented or is even remotely threatened to be implemented anywhere in the United States.

And as for that child rape allegation, if you’re truly concerned, you might want to look into the Roman Catholic Church. They don’t exactly have a stellar track record.

If you’re not willing to deal with the truth, my only assumption is that you’re merely parroting Faux News/Rush Limbaugh/Breitbart talking points that have no basis in reality.

        • Zack

bayman61 should take a look into the christian patriarchy/homeschool movement. Lots of kiddie-diddling going on there, too.

          • bayman61

Again, there will be NO sharia law here.

          • Zack

Indeed you are correct. Our constitution protects our nation from living under Sharia law. Just as our constitution protects our nation from living under Christian Law, Jewish Law, Pastafarian Law, Hindu Law, etc, etc, etc…

        • bayman61

There have been many demonstrations of muslims in America with signs saying sharia will come to America. Ok, numb nuts? Priests have no where near committed as many acts of rape, child rape, as muslims have. Plus do you see Christians going around killing people just because they are not Christian? You need to convert to Christianity. Reply if you want, I will not see it.

    • Todd20036

Dumb indeed. The objective of these rallies is supposed to be to convince fence sitters, or even opposing voters to vote for your candidate, not just to rally the base.

This woman’s protest, and subsequent result, tells me that Trump’s base is acting an awful lot like Hitler’s base did in the 1930s.

Trump is proving that Goodwin’s law does not apply in this election cycle.

      • bayman61

We just do not put up with such as her kind. You democrats sure are a violent kind when you do not get your way. Which is the wrong way. The right change is coming.

        • Zack

So silently expressing her right to protest is somehow violent. Is the sky purple in your world?

  • ceeenbee

The more of this that gets shown, and becomes known, the more afraid for this country the voters will become. Moderates, democrats, liberals, independents… whatever you Sanywant too call them, will not tolerate the rank racism, xenophobia, misogyny, and homophobia of the xtian right and of their disgusting candidates.

  • bryan

All the republican presidential candidates oppose freedom of religion for those who are not christian conservatives.

    • xixixi

The hipocricy is real. But do you really support the religion that condones execution of gays and atheists?

      • ceeenbee

There are many do-called xtian preachers who condone execution of gays and atheists. The xtian bible is very clear on the matter. So, do you support that?

        • xixixi

No, and I’m very clear about my disgust for any organized religion.

          • ceeenbee

Interesting then, why you chose to single out her and her religion in your statement. It appears you may harbor an irrational xenophobic bent that ou might want to explore.

          • fuow

Or, there’s the simple fact that Islam is even worse than Christianity when it comes to murdering us. I don’t like the christers who rape, beat and murder us, I don’t like the Muslims who do it, either. Right now, it’s the Islamic ruled parts of the earth which are worst about it.

          • ceeenbee

Given the opportunity, if this country were to become a xtian theocracy, you can rest assured that the religious zealots would be as bad or worse than the Muslim zealots. The only thing stopping them now are the laws in place and the people who would not stand for it. In an oppressive regime like in the Middle East, people are too afraid to speak up.

There are xtian religious zealots, Muslim religious zealots and any other number of zealots. They have nothing to do with the religions they espouse. They are all morally bankrupt.

          • ErikDC

The majority of Catholics in this country support same-sex marriage. Contrast that to the Islamic world and tell me where you’d rather live as a gay man or woman.

          • ceeenbee

I’m sorry you are missing the point.

The point is there are “religious” zealots (…and please understand, I do not view these people as “religious” in any form or fashion. They are sociopaths who use religion to excuse the psychopathology.) and those zealots do not represent the religions they espouse. Branding all muslims as American hating, gay-hating, jew-hating individuals because of a very small percentage of deviants is wrong. It is as wrong as branding all christians as the same based on the deviant actions of a small percentage of them.

You are correct. They are behind western civilizations on many issues but, i can assure you, the way to get them to change is not to belittle or attack them. It into treat them with respect and talk to them and help them understand. There are many muslims who adopt a live and let live attitude. Lumping them all in as terrorists who would gladly throw gays off roofs is demeaning and serves no purpose other than to alienate them.

We are on the same side. The enemy is radicals, whether they be muslim or christian or anyone else. Given the rhetoric from far right christians lately, and viewing “christian” countries like uganda, somalia, nigeria and russia and their treatment of gays, LGBTQs should feel very uncomfortable across the globe from any religious radicals.

          • ErikDC

            OK, Mr. Bleeding Heart.

#1. Look at the following poll numbers and tell me it’s just a few religious zealots. Because when I read those numbers, I see a small fraction of normal people amidst a sea of extraordinarily conservative, religious zealots.

            http://www.pewforum.org/2013/04/30/the-worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-morality/

#2. I’m not trying to “get them to change.” My only interest is to sequester that sort of crazy and keep it away from me.

          • bayman61

Christians who rape? In the name of their religion? Beat, murder? Wow, you need help.

          • xixixi

Did I not say I feel the same about Christians?

          • ceeenbee

You did, after the fact but, your initial statement singled out her and her religion, not the religion of those around her who acted despicably.

          • bayman61

xixixi, Then keep it to yourself and stay out of others face.

  • DaddyRay

It is surprising that she even made it into the Rally in the first place

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

My guess is Trump was eager to exploit her presence to “demonstrate” he has supporters of all types, … and then she stood up in the midst of one of his disturbing islamophobic rants, and that plan kind of back-fired smack in his face. Good for her. I respect and admire her.

      • Nax

        She is a classy lady.

        • teeveedub

Definitely. She’s also very brave (and perhaps a little naive) to go into a crowd like that, considering how much violence has been perpetrated against protesters at tRump’s rallies. The outcome could have been very different, and not in a good way.

          • bayman61

You mean like the way muslims treat Christians?

    • bayman61

Thats because they are normal people. If they had been muslims and she a Christian, she would have been attacked at the door. And ALL of you know that.

      … and mandatory jackboots.

    • Sam_Handwich

      no.

do you support what happened in Rock Hill, South Carolina, which is the topic of this post?

      • xixixi

I think both Christianity and Islam are equaly evil. I don’t know why you support someone who most likely wants you be stoned to death.

        • Sam_Handwich

What evidence do you have that Rose Hamid wants me stoned to death?

          • xixixi

Read her favourite book. Also find me a single muslim country where gays are not persecuted.

          • Sam_Handwich

The Bible says the very same thing

Do you believe that every Christian is out to stone you to death? Jews, too?

          • xixixi

Most muslim-majority countries have death penalty for homosexuality. While Christianity is equally repugnant the math is not the same.

          • Sam_Handwich

Which country is Rose Hamid a citizen of?

          • xixixi

Which country does she want? The one where gays are executed like in 99% of muslim countries.

          • Sam_Handwich

Again, you make broad claims about an individual without a shred of evidence to support them. dismissed. go vote for Hairhat.

          • xixixi

          • Silver Badger

At least Hillary has one more vote.

          • xixixi

If it was Hillary vs. Trump, i’d vote Hillary. If it was Trump vs. Muslim lady I’d vote Trump because I know that he doesn’t want to stone me.

          • Silver Badger

There is little difference between the American Republican Party and the Radical Muslims. If you are a same American you will vote Democrat.

          • People4Humanity

            There you go, again.

          • unsavedheathen

In countries where Christianity is the predominant religious belief and it is unrestrained by constitutional limits (think several nations in central Africa) homosexuals are persecuted and threatened with death at the hands of the state. Undeniable fact. Sadly most countries where Islam is the predominant religion are controlled politically by the religious. This doesn’t mean that Christianity is more evolved than Islam. It means that Christianity and its worst attributes have been, for the most part, defanged by western democracies. We’re lucky, that’s all.

          • xixixi

I don’t deny the evils of Christianity, but I don’t see countries like Poland executing gay people… or even attacking gay prides with water cannons (like in moderate muslim Turkey)

          • unsavedheathen

Russia? Have you heard of Russia? It’s a country.

          • xixixi

Yep, but there are far less Russia’s in Christian world, while even the most moderate Muslim countries are more hostile to gays than Russia.

          • unsavedheathen

I don’t think you could find a whole lot of difference between the recent history of Russia vis a vis LGBT and their political rights and the stances of nations like Turkey, Lebanon or Jordan. How many tens of millions of faithful ROC believers are you brushing aside here to make a point about the supposed greater evil of Islam?

          • xixixi

Turkey, Lebanon or Jordan still have worse gay rights record than Russia.

          • fuow

Having grown up in Germany and being home frequently, I can tell you that Poland fought against medical treatment for sufferers of Aids longer than any other Central European country. To this day, gay men leave the country for other parts of Europe at an enormous rate. It’s all documented.
If they don’t kill gays there openly, it’s only because they stop just short of it. There’s a strain of christer belief there which can match the worst of the African christer countries easily.

          • xixixi

I agree, Poland is horrible place for gay people. Still better than “moderate” Turkey where not only the state is persecuting gay people but “honor” killings are common.

          • Gerry Fisher

Dismantling the automatic, totally blind, and dangerous “respect” (license) that we give to religions is going to take time. It’ll happen in increments.

That being said, the main problem right now isn’t “muslim.” In your last statement, the problem is reflected in the term “muslim country.”

One step in the process is not giving religions civic authority.

This woman is not an agent of a muslim country.

          • xixixi

Muslims don’t respect civic authority. They have Sharia courts.

But if it further demonstrates the ugliness of Trump and his supporters her actions are well worth it.

      • CanuckDon

Well yeah…except that doesn’t appear to be her personal intent so while we find some dark pleasure with this situation’s demonstration of Trump ugliness (as if we need more), we aren’t really acknowledging her intention of trying to calm waters. Are we just as bloodthirsty as they for more drama?

  • Prion

    ,.,

tRump and his supporters will always stay ASSy.

    • KCMC

and not in a good way. Dirty bossy assy.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

Stand strong with with our good Muslim neighbors, friends and co-workers.
They are under a vicious right wing attack that seems on track to only get worse.
Trump, Cruz and the Breitbart trolls like Pam Geller just keep pouring gasoline on the flames of hatred. Stomp out islamophobia. Do not let it take root in your heart!

  • Ninja0980

Just more example of Trump supporters and the base of the Republican party showing what they are about…pure and utter hate.

    • Dreaming Vertebrate

… and fear and ignorance. They are masters of dehumanization.

  • shellback

Sounds like someone is a wannabe dictator. He’s such a delicate little snowflake.

  • goofy_joe

Trump’s supporters have to be among the dumbest, and most racist in America. The thing is, I’m pretty sure he knows this and is feeding that ignorance and animus in order to stay ahead in the polls. He isn’t doing this for the best of the country, or even for his own political career…he is doing it for the same reason he does everything else.

    The spectacle.

    • unsavedheathen

      The cash.

      • skeptical_inquirer

How can he milk them for cash? Unless he gets a reality show on TLC, I suppose.

        • unsavedheathen

His entire “empire” rests on his notoriety, his image as a mogul, a business juggernaut. Every word published or spoken about Trump in the media raises his visibility, makes his name more recognizable, more marketable. Without a doubt, there are plans to monopolize on this heightened level of public recognition when his candidacy implodes. I can’t imagine that Trump has any interest in or intent to run in the general election, let alone serve.

          My theory, anyway.

          • skeptical_inquirer

He has become more famous though the way he has run his campaign has made him toxic to a lot of corporations. If I were Apple or any company that depended on a diverse customer base, I think that he would be as unappealing as the Duggars in terms of spokesperson or putting commercials on any show he ever gets.

He could write another book and maybe do some paid speeches. Talk Radio? Fox News (though it hasn’t been a smooth relationship)?

As for the general election, I can see Trump doing it because he’s just THAT egotistic and it would hurt his pride to quit if he wins the nom. If he doesn’t win the nom, I’m sure he’ll do a third party run just to keep the attention train running.

  • xixixi

While Trump is horrible, the worst he can do is passing FADA.

Muslims, on other hand… have you looked at what’s happening to gays even in the most rich and progressive Muslim countries?

    • Sam_Handwich

….which has absolutely nothing to do with Rose Hamid, a US citizen, getting booted from a rally held by a candidate for the US presidency.

      • xixixi

a US citizen who believes in Sharia and death for gays and apostates.

        • Ninja0980

So do many of the Trump supporters.

          • xixixi

Yes. But Trump is not supporting that.

        • RainbowPhoenix

Just because she’s a muslim does not automatically mean she believes such a thing.

          • xixixi

Then she’s not a muslim because these are the core parts of Islam.

          • RainbowPhoenix

There is no appreciable difference between the core parts of Islam and the core parts of Christianity and Judaism, you racist piece of dreck.

          • xixixi

Yes, there’s no difference between Christianity and Islam. They’re both equally evil. But why when i point out the evils of Islam, i’m a “racist”?

          • RainbowPhoenix

Because you are making yourself look like a scared little boy, cowering in face of the Islamic boogeyman.

          • xixixi

Who are scared little boys? People who condone the mass rape of women in Europe because protecting them might hurt muslim feels?

          • RainbowPhoenix

No, people like you who have no understanding of the complexity of the world.

          • xixixi

So mass rapes is “complexity of the world” and we should ignore it because it’s their “culture”?

          • RainbowPhoenix

No, because you are so deluded that you think that just getting rid of all a certain group of people will stop such things. The causes of problems such as the ones you describe, are not exclusive to Islam.

          • TuuxKabin

            Oh, now it’s ‘mass rapes’.

          • xixixi

What? I thought it was universally accepted that penetration is not necessary to consider sexual assault a “rape”

    • Ninja0980

So we should accept being treated as second class citizens and be grateful we aren’t being jailed or murdered?
      Fuck that.

      • xixixi

No we shouldn’t. I’m just siding with lesser of evils.

        • Ninja0980

I’ll side with none, thank you very much.

          • xixixi

I mean in this debate I side with Trump. But generally speaking, they’re both horrible.

    • Michael Rush

Do you understand the difference between a Muslim and an Islamic Militant ?

      • xixixi

Can you show me a single Muslim country that doesn’t persecute gay people?

        • Michael Rush

Is the answer to that to persecute all Muslims ?

          • xixixi

The answer is to make them accept the norms of civilized world or be deported to their “moderate” countries.

          • Michael Rush

OK good luck with that .

          • xixixi

Good luck to hundered of raped oops I mean culturally enriched ladies in Europe…

          • Michael Rush

you need to sell your special mix of BS somewhere else .

          • xixixi

Are you still denying the rapes that happened on NYE all across the Europe?

          • unsavedheathen

By “rapes that happened on NYE all across Europe” I suppose you are referring to the alleged rape(singular) and reports of assaults(dozens) that occurred in the Cologne’s central square.

No, no one is denying that these terrible things occurred. These men need to be found and prosecuted. This behavior has been roundly condemned by German authorities. Sexually repressed muslim men emigrating to the West need to discard their misogyny and leapfrog into the 21st century. But they have nothing to do with this woman, the fact that she was ejected from a rally for a candidate for POTUS for no apparent reason or the rational statement she made to the press after the fact.

            Try to stay on point.

          • xixixi

“alleged rape”??? Only in Cologne? Didn’t you actually read the news?

That kind of denial is what fuels the rise of people like Trump.

          • unsavedheathen

Really? Words like mine have led to the rise of Trump? Not the fear mongering and intellectual dishonesty and baseless logical fallacies spread by people like you?

OK. Learn something new every day.

            Later.

          • xixixi

Facts are “fear mongering” and “intellectual dishonesty”?

Keep denying the reality and see people like Trump and FN coming to power and bringong the dark ages for everyone including gay people.

          • RainbowPhoenix

Shame you have shared any facts.

          • Octavio

He’s like the sweet spirits during WWI who insisted that the Germans were eating captured English, French, and Dutch children. There’s no reasoning with that kind of mind set.

          • RainbowPhoenix

And the really sad thing is that such bleatings make it more difficult to believe it when real atrocities are reported, as we saw when the first reports of the concentration camps started appearing. Even Jewish American leaders were decrying that as propaganda.

          • What is intellectually dishonest is that you keep claiming to know the intentions of anyone who calls themselves a Muslim based on your observation of horrible crimes by people who call themselves Muslims. To say all Muslims hold to a secret hatred of gays is as silly as saying all Christians do. It is fear mongering to use examples of individuals to condemn groups. It is not logical or rational, and hate begets hate. Watch the second tape of her speaking. You really just need to get to know an individual Muslim, it will ease your fear considerably.

          • Daveed_WOW

Are you still denying that you belong here, in this discussion? You are a classic troll. We’re gay, honey. We know a troll when we see one.

          • xixixi

Yes, I’m a gay man. And I belong here in the discussion about the threats to gays coming from Islam.

          • RainbowPhoenix

And you are an example of how even our community is not exempt from the occasional idiotic bigot.

          • Octavio

Wel, for a gay man you’re certainly an embarrassment to gay men everywhere.

          • DaddyRay

there were about 3.3 million Muslims of all ages living in the United States – you can now go hide under your bed

          • Octavio

Personally, that’s what I’m hoping to happen — that his paranoia and general nastiness will destroy him/it. There’s no reasoning with a sick mind like that. Although there is medication to quell it, it needs to be taken for a lifetime.

          • Anastasia Beaverhousen

This guy and BP in one thread. Did we piss off the weather gods again and they sent us a plaques for assholes?

          • Daveed_WOW

Fair enough. You have a point. But we are all failing to see why you would bring it up other than to attack the character of all Muslims. Name that logical fallacy!

          • zhera

Can we also deport the non-muslims who don’t accept the norms of a civilized world? Does it matter if the deported are citizens, maybe even naturally born in the country?

Your idea of clivilized is a bit fascist. “You’re free to believe whatever you want, as long as you believe what I tell you to believe.”

    • Brian

I fear the gay community is so ‘married’ to the democratic party, most dare not speak out against what Islam is doing to fellow gays in the Middle East. The democratic party is silent on what Islam is doing. Look at what is happening to women in Europe. This isn’t going to end well and I believe our community has its head in the sand.

(Children in NewTown in Grade 1 mowed down by a white deranged Xian type. “Deranged” is the operative word in both massacres. Plus guns. )

America is probably doomed due to all the hundreds of millions of guns which guarantees there will be at least 1 million or more deranged to various degrees Americans with the potential to kill.

People in Canada don’t buy guns very much and are heavily screened for back ground checks. There are no open or concealed carry provisions beyond for persons who have been given a specific licence for a very specific reason, and that might be 1 person in 10,000 as far as citizens go. We have had massacres in Canada, but by proportion they are rare. In the US they are daily, but less than 4 victims are not even reported in the national press, but probably do make the 6 o’clock news.

      • MichaelJ

On what basis are you able to say that “her God” wants gay people thrown from rooftops? The Muslims of ISIS, the Iranian theocracy and others believe God wants that. But it doesn’t follow that her or any other person who is Muslim believes in a God that supports what radical Islamists do. My own Evangelical relatives, who are very progressive about most things (support gay rights and marriage, pro-choice, anti-war, support socialized health care, etc.), make clear to other Evangelicals their belief that Westboro Baptist Church and others like it worship a false God. I don’t know what exactly this woman believes in her heart of hearts and neither do you.

PS For the record, I’m an atheist, support separation of church and state, believe that religious institutions should be taxed and appreciate evidence-based knowledge far more than faith-based beliefs.

      • Curieux Bleu

I’m 100% sure Rose does not endorse throwing gay people from rooftops. You are fear mongering according to stereotype xixixi.

        Just sayin’

I am also 100% sure her God does not endorse throwing gay people from rooftops. A lot of religious leaders are bigoted and hateful but it is quite clear that Rose and her God are NOT.

    America under Trump:

No dissent allowed. No differing opinions allowed. No peaceful protests allowed. No blacks allowed. No browns allowed. Only white christians allowed. No newspapers criticizing the dictator allowed. Brown shirts worn by the elite are required. All others will be beaten and/or thrown out under threat of or with actual violence. Those committing the violence are praised. Bigots are elevated. Jim Crow laws in full force.

    It’s a fucking nightmare.

    • skeptical_inquirer

I’m actually surprised the rest of the GOP establishment MIND, instead of just going “Hurrah, our utopia is coming!” It’s not like they’ve tried to stop any of this before Trump came.

      • Wynter Marie Starr

No, they haven’t tried to stop it and it seems like they would welcome it. All their sick dreams come to fruition; anyone not of their faith silenced, gays silenced, the educated silenced, dissenters silenced. And if you can’t silence them through intimidation, violence is acceptable and applauded. They truly sicken me and I have more difficulty every day even being civil to such people.

  • Baby Dave

The irony is, Islam is a fundamentally conservative Right wing religion. Muslims have much more in common with the GOP than these idiots realize. Whether it comes to homophobia, sexism, misogyny, racism, capitalism or autocracy, the GOP and Islam ought to be bedfellows, not enemies.

The Left is championing their equality based entirely on principle, the idea that all humans ought to be treated fairly. they do this in spite of Islam’s opposition to just about everything the Left stands for. Which is a bit like a Black police officer protecting Klansmen at a hate rally. He may dislike that part of his job, but at the end of the day, his badge and shield mean something to him that transcends his individual opinions.

The Right, on the other hand, is attacking them for political expediency. There aren’t very m,any Muslims in the United States, and the majority of terrorist strikes against our country and its allies have been based in variants of Islamic ideology. Which is a bit like Putin’s Russia attacking the ultranationalist Right wing government in Ukraine. It’s nothing personal – its just business and opportunism.

    • Octavio

All valid points. But look at the men yelling at her. Check out their general demeanor. It really doesn’t matter that she’s Muslim. Those troglodytes are typical ‘Merikuns, as dumb and stupid as they wanna be. I remember the same faces on crowds in Little Rock, Arkansas in the 50s and the inbred fuckwads drooling in Alabama in the 60s. You’d think we could get rid of that part of humanity, but it keeps rearing up. I don’t know what can be done about it. But they’re just as likely to come after us if we let our guard down.

      • Baby Dave

Which is why they make such easy prey for the Right.

These same people will be hurt the worst by Trump’s policies. The only jobs they’ll be able to find will keep them locked in poverty and debt forever. No social safety net will catch them when they inevitably fall. Once they enter the Corrections system after seeking diversions from their dreary lives that are illegal, they will never get out of that system.

But a woman standing behind them quietly wearing unusual clothing is a threat, not the man on the stage in front of them

      • Piernudo15

Those are the images that came to mind for me too, especially the one of crowds yelling and spitting at black students trying to enter schools as part of desegration in the South.

  • Queequeg

This is not the kind of country in which I want to live. It is absolutely critical that we elect a Democratic president and congress this year.

  • Nychta

I was curious about who these folks are. Hamid is the president of Muslim Women of the Carolinas, and writes articles for The Charlotte Observer.

Rosenbluth is a North Carolina-based immigration attorney.

I doubt they are plants, and suspect they took it upon themselves to show the world how vile the Trump campaign/supporters are.

Someone here is UNAMERICAN, and it sure as hell isn’t the woman in the hijab! >:-(

Meantime, Disqus is still crashing my OS (not just Firefox)

    • Good Shot Green

JMG crashes all the time on both my iPhone and -Pad. It’s the only site I go to that does that regularly.

      • Phillip in L.A.

        Interesting, that.

  • Mark Cross

WHY the hell was Elton’s “Rocketman” playing at a Trump rally?!?!

    • skeptical_inquirer

Politicians always use music without asking. They only stop if the musician catches them and complains about it publicly and threatens to use a lawyer.

  • Rockola404

As an aside, I hate that brown shirts are associated with Hitler and fascism. Make earth tones polically neutral again! I have a brown Duluth Trading company shirt that I wear because I think it looks nifty.

  • dcurlee

    I really like this woman.

  • leastyebejudged

Something about going to a Trump rally to protest just seems kind of idiotic to me.

You just energize his supporters more and give him the opportunity to do what is expected of him. I don’t see how it impresses anyone. But I feel the same way when a conservative goes and disrupts a democrats rally. It’s theater that detracts from the issues.

  • Max_1

Rose Hamid is the Rosa Parks of Trumpf’s bus…

  • SilasMarner

Ya know, I’m just waiting for the moment when at these Trump rallies Trump gives the Nazi salute and the frenzied crowd goes wild and returns the salute and scream, “Sieg Heil”!

  • zhera

It’s not enough for them to have her thrown out. Big, white men have to shout in her face as well, because they’re so damn macho and entitled.

    These are scary times.

  • Ginger Snap

What a brave woman you are Rose. Keep standing up for your rights and never let bigotry win.

  • lynden55

    ..

    • Upvote because it’s true! (Except maybe that he said those true words.)

  • houstonray

Shameful. Disgusting. Embarrassing. To sane, tolerant, fellow Americans of course.

  • houstonray

And you know what else? So what if she WAS a plant? I don’t believe she was of course but let’s say she was…um, and their point? Plant or not, she still proved the point of showing the hate fomented by Donald Trump and his teabagger pandering.

  • Acronym Jim

It looks like she was part of an overall group of silent protesters there. Does anybody know the group that conducted the protest? I’m assuming Marty Rosenbluth isn’t a muslim (though I could certainly be wrong), but it appeared to be similar to an “we are all [fill in the blank]” type of protest.

  • Rocco

What a lovely and well spoken woman. More of her and less of the brownshirts please.

  • Hue-Man

“North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un should be given “credit” for quickly
consolidating his power by executing other elites, Republican
presidential frontrunner Donald Trump said at a rally in Iowa on Saturday.”

I hope the other TeaParty/GOP candidates’ life insurance policies are up to date! Who knew the Republican leadership campaign was a blood-sport…

    • Stev84

A last man standing death fight would be a lot more effective than the current theater.

  • I’ll just leave this here. More than a few of us have noticed some striking similarities.

One classy protest; and I don’t believe the majority of Americans believe/act as Trump’s neo-fascist, sheep do — hope she knows that. I’m impressed and awed by her actions, here’s to more of the same.

These nasty fucks will fight tooth and nail to not share the world.

I know this if off topic but i’m curious. I am a 52 year old gay man who comes from a Christian background but became atheist 10 years ago. I’ve been a democrat all of my life. Is there something wrong with me being concerned with bringing in a lot of Middle Eastern Muslims to the United States? I’m uncomfortable with agreeing with republicans on this but I do. I’m sorry but I agree with Trump on ending the immigration of Middle Eastern Muslims. I’ll be honest with you all here on JMG, it scares and concerns me. Please don’t equate how we are treated here in the US by Christians with being gay in a Muslim country. It truly insults the gay people who have to endure life in the Islamic world. I don’t understand the gay community’s apparent support for more immigration from this group. Under Islam, under Sharia, marriage rights will be the least of our problems.

    • Quadrillion

Nothing that you said, which is all based in fear, has any basis in reality, government policy (which does not discriminate), or constitutional rationale. Accordingly, there is no “apparent support” for immigration for any group from the “gay community” save individual concerns for LGBT persons experiencing life-threatening situations in non-progressive nations. Also, if you truly did care about LGBT people in the Middle East you would reconsider your comment.
Finally, as a Christian you are failing badly.

      • Brian

Absolutely what I am saying is based in fear. Is it irrational for a gay man to fear Islam coming to the US? Would you want to move to any of the Muslim countries? I would not. I fear the treatment of women, gays, and other minorities in Islamic countries, which is based on Islam, would come here. Have you seen what has been going on in Germany? Have you heard of Sharia? Your comment that i am possibly a racist is confusing since Muslim is not a race. Importing people who come from countries where I would be put to death because of Islam scares me, so be it. As for my concern for LGBT in “non-progressive nations” as you put it, I would totally agree that any gay person in a Muslim country is a refugee as is any Christian living in those countries and should be welcome here. Please don’t lecture me with your holier than thou attitude. I have a right to be concerned.

        • Quadrillion

You specified Middle Eastern muslims in your original comment. The Tribeca neighborhood in Manhattan was once called Little Syria actually from the late 19th century until the 1940s.

You seem to be irrational and ignorant so it’s not surprising you think the way you do about this. I will not be replying further.

          Good luck !

Another muslim that did not get their way. Assimilate or leave. NO SHARIA in America.

    • RainbowPhoenix

That’s strange, I didn’t see a single thing indicating that she wants Sharia law in America.

The Hitler card was played very well by Rose in the form of an identifying badge. I believe it’s essential that those of us outside of this “group mentality” of hate, keep in mind thant for the most part Germans were human beings.

I grew up at a time when WWII vets were abundant. I heard on a very regular basis that “it” couldn’t happen here. I believed that then, but not any more. What was it about 1920’s and 1930’s Gernmany that allowed Nazism to rise to power? I’d say it was an ability to embrace the concept of “other”

Rose hits the nail on the head. Trump supporters, Republicans, Christians, aren’t “other” they are us, as in U.S. citizens. We won’t change their hearts by calling them names, or by deriding them. We must engage them as ourselves, show them our humanity, open their eyes that the people they are targeting as “other” are us, also U.S. Citizens – their freinds and families. “They” outnumber us, and unless we want to end up badged and camped – we damned well better start having rational conversations with our drunk uncles that back politicians that seek to divide America rather than making all of us great.
