    • sw42

Gold. Honestly half the time I scan the comments just to see what oikos has put up.

      • oikos

It made me LOL when I saw it so I had to post.

        • Chucktech

You do tremendous work, oikos, we thank you!

      • charemor

Oikos, Pickypecker, JalapeñoBusiness – and there are a couple of others. This site is just GREAT!

  • ColdDesert

Joseph Stalin and Adolf Hitler (as well as Pierre Laval) also hold that distinction…so….yeah…

    • Jeffg166

      You beat me to it.

      • ColdDesert

And looking at the Wiki list, Ayatollah Kohmenei, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon (2x), William Westmoreland, Newt Gingrich, John Paul II, Ken Starr, and Dubya (also 2x).

        • JW Swift

          Let’s nominate Kim Jong-un while we’re at it…

          • Christopher

Two Kims for the price of one!

          • YeahNo

            Kim Jong-Dos?

        • Jeffg166

She would be in appropriate company.

    • Todd20036

Even when Time picked someone evil, it was always someone who affected history in a big way.

Davis is a footnote, a loser, a hypocrite, and irrelevant.

      So, no.

      • Robincho

        Quim isn’t even an asterisk. She’s a half-asterisk…

        • Strepsi

        • Dagoril

I thought Sarah Palin was the resident half-asterisk? 😉

          • David Walker

            They make a lovely couple.

        • prjoe

Quim – I haven’t heard that word in 40 years. Thanks for the laugh.

      • MonochromeMouse

she’s not even that, by this time next year no one, not even the assholes at liberty council, will remember who she is

      • ColdDesert

See my original comment – Laval is also very much a footnote.

    • Cousin Bleh

They haven’t picked a villain as Person of the Year in a long time because hillbillies across America can’t understand that it’s not an award.

    • YeahNo

There’s a major difference between “Evil Greatness” and “Pissy Bitch”.

    • Stubenville
  • Yalma Cuder-Zicci

    Trump has this sewn up.

    • Gustav2

Who has dominated the news more than Trump?

      • LovesIrony

        Mass shooters

        • MichaelJ

I disagree. Mass shooters come and go, which Trump has dominated the news most of the year.

      • Cousin Bleh

I think it’s going to be refugees. Time loves to do broad categories for this story, and they may be the only group that has dominated global news coverage this year.

    • If it were based on people’s votes (I voted yes or no on all the political leaders) I think it would be Bernie. He’s WAY out in front.

    • MichaelJ

If you are talking about who Time’s editors will choose, as opposed to the preferences of readers who vote on line which don’t count, I suspect you’re right. The media loves having Trump, giving him more attention and airtime than he ever deserves.
I’m not on Facebook or Twitter, so I couldn’t vote for my choice of Person of the Year, which would be “Refugees.”

  • BearEyes

Don’t use twitter or facebook – so can’t vote No against Kimmie.

  • Nexus1

I think I almost pulled something from guffawing so hard when I read this.

    • FAEN

      Right LOL?

    • SpiderPIG

ROTFL I’ve forgotten about this ridiculous Brendan Fraser moment.

  • geoffalnutt

I wouldn’t cross the street to spit in her hair. (besides, I excel at long-distance loogies, anyway).

  • bkmn

ABKD – anyone but Kim Davis.

  • Gustav2

    *expletive deleted*

  • j.martindale

A horse as person of the year? I remember when they made the PC a “person,” too. I suggest we make corporations persons of the year.

    • oikos

      “They are people, my friend.”

      • Lars De

But Time is not People. Think about that.

    • Dramphooey

With American Pharoah and Kim Davis in the running this will be the first year we’ll have a horse running against a horse’s ass.

    • Cousin Bleh

It’s always dumb when they do some gimmick like the PC or in 2006 when they did “You.”

  • Celloman G

    Are they FUCKING kidding?

    • JW Swift

No, that’s their reality. Just for giggles, I wonder what color THEIR sky is, in their world…

    • YeahNo

Yes… but only if that “fucking kidding” is heterosexual fucking.

  • pickypecker
    • oikos

I hope if she’s picked, she’ll wear her Sunday finery.

      • YeahNo

…only the finest of sackcloth for m’lady!

        *tips fedora*

      • Rebecca Gardner

I don’t know, that looks like mixed fabrics. Leviticus 19:19 makes the baby Jebus cry.

        • Sk3ptic

Ugh. All that noise…I guess we could just put him out on the back porch.

          • Boo Hoo

Or eat him. I bet he tastes divine.

        • D. J.

But she’s saved, bless the lard and her heart. Them rules don’t apply to her ’cause she re-pinted. I don’t know how she pinted the first time around, but she did it agin’ and joined the GOP to make shore.

          • glass

Why she were warshed clean by bathing in a trough of de lordy jeezzuss blud.
Can I get an amen up in here?

      • Joe knows who I am.

The elephant is a nice touch.

      • Dagoril

Tragic in so many different ways!

    • b

She uwanted her conscience to be the law of her land, For that, she gets nothing.

  • chris james

Idiot of the year perhaps…they must be joking.

  • Blake Jordan

Person of the Year can be for a negative reason, right?

    • Dramphooey

Yes, but she still doesn’t deserve it. She didn’t do squat.

      • JW Swift

Yeah, she’s getting nominated for NOT doing her job. Had I known the bar for being nominated was so low…

        • Strepsi

…you would be person of the decade!

          • Oh’behr

Hmm, that could be G. W. Bush. (speaking softly, you know, that person the G.O.P. doesn’t talk about, that one).

      • Chucktech

Well, she DID manage to turn Fox News against her as well as momentarily making our nation of lazy, incurious dopes look askance at Liberty Counsel…

    • pickypecker

Perhaps the Advocate will put her on the cover this year?

    • Dramphooey

If it’s someone negative Donald Trump is a strong contender as much as I hate to say that.

      • Cousin Bleh

I have to agree. He represents a sea change in American politics, the exact moment that Palin-esque characters aren’t merely a sideshow but taking center stage.

If he shows up on the cover, I will use it to wipe my ass.

        • Oh’behr

Makes me wish I had a pet bird who liked to poop often and copiously.

  • Patrick Thomas

Al-Baghdadi, the ISIL leader is getting more “yes” votes than Jeb!

  • FancyThat

I think she’s better suited as a RAID spokesperson/supermodel. That would make more sense. She’s effective! I put her sexy ‘clerk’ photo under my fridge last fall and haven’t had a single cockroach since.

    • Dramphooey

Your graphic looks like the Republican field reacting to a CNBC moderator!

  • Lars De

The power of Christ does NOT compel me!

  • Cackalaquiano

I’d vote for my spleen over Kim Davis.

    • FAEN

Hey I’D vote for your spleen over that attention whore.

      • Cackalaquiano

Unfortunately, my spleen’s not gonna sign your marriage license either, so there’s still that…

        • FAEN

But your spleen isn’t a bigot. The same cannot be said for Davis.

  • FAEN

    ROFL-bitch please!!

  • Dramphooey

Kim Davis should absolutely not be the Time’s Person of the Year. It is supposed to be who had the largest effect on the events of the year. She was the face of the impotent and futile resistance to the most important event of year.

    • jomicur

Remember James Bond’s description of Dr. No? “A minnow who thinks it’s a whale.”

    • Cousin Bleh

Here’s who I suspect they are actually considering:
      The refugees
      Donald Trump
      Anthony Kennedy
      Elon Musk

      • Joe knows who I am.

Yes but, she might make it for their sexiest man alive.

    • Michael Rush

Are there others categories , such as
Insufferable Asshole Of The Year ?

      • Joe in PA

good grief, just try to narrow THAT field down. Wow.

    • sw42

Yeah, if we’re going to make the field about making gay marriage legal, then make it Chief Justice Anthony Kennedy and his vote – it arguably affected more people’s lives in a direct way that Dim Kavis.

    • OdieDenCO

      Kim should be everybody’s PotY.

  • Steverino

    Jim Obergefell.

    • ChrisInKansas

I went over to Time’s site and out of 59 nominees you can vote for, he’s not one of them. Seriously?

      • David Walker

I’m sure they just forgot. Or didn’t have space. Or merely an oops.

        • Oh’behr

Hmm, rather reconfirms for me that TIME is conservative.

    • James Obergefell was seeking justice not notoriety. The Supreme Court decision that bears his name followed a few weeks after the the vote of the Irish People to legalized same sex marriage. A catholic country gave a affirmative majority vote on this question. The Supreme Court followed with their decision. For me that’s news, that’s history. I nominate James Obergefell as Time’s Man of the Year.

  • Menergy

Really? Get OVER yourselves! Despicable bigot not performing her job she’s paid well for, she’s a discriminatory turd. NOT admirable or constitutional at all. Ptui!

  • shellback

Let’s all celebrate anarchy and disobey any laws that we find inconvenient. It’s the new Merican way.

  • b

She wanted her conscience to be the law’s conscience. For that she get thrown down the shit hole.

  • BudClark

Liberty Counsel owes me a keyboard.

  • delk

Who more than Kim Davis has influenced the news in the past year? Kim Davis inspired a nation and the world to fight for religious liberty when she chose a prison cell rather than sacrificing her conscience to see the hypocrisy of her so-called religion and the hateful bigots that support her.

  • Octavio

I’m starting a campaign to make Flo, from the Progressive Insurance commercials, Person of the Year. She’s done so much more for humanity than Kimmy Poo.

    • Robincho

      Stephanie Courtney rocks it totally!…

  • “… scroll to Kim Davis and vote ‘Yes'” because a Time Magazine article about her would, obviously, be very flattering and not make her seem at all like the kind of obstinate, self-righteous, bible-thumping dinosaur who should have gone extinct in the Age of Eisenhower. And I’m totally positive none of the magazine’s fine journalists would dare speak to anyone who (shudder!) doesn’t share her opinion of same-sex marriage and could enumerate, in illuminating detail, all the reasons why she deserved to have her ass thrown in jail. That would be so rude. You go clicky-clicky, Liberty Counsel. It can only work out well for you.

  • Michael

Tolerance of Counterfeit Christianity is one thing; glorification is another. Just say NO!

  • Michael Smith

Well she’s at 95% no. Obviously their dozens of followers voted yes already.

  • Bob from CT

The headline looks like something from “The Onion.” Sadly, it is not.

  • Rex

Thanks, Joe. The LAST thing I needed to see today was Kim Davis face.
Haven’t we suffered enough this week?

  • Queequeg

She could win for most stupid and lazy person of the year. I was going to add hateful, but that competition is pretty fierce.

  • HZ81

It’s person of the year, LC. Not blobish rube of the year.

  • Cousin Bleh

Person of the Year is chosen by Time’s editors. So I’m confused as fuck about why they’re pushing a poll.

Also, if Taylor Swift is being considered, then it’s all bullshit anyways.

    • Todd Allis

I came here to post that quote, then figured maybe someone else had. I’m happy to see Malala Yousafzai is in 2nd place.

      • Cousin Bleh

I think Malala has been a frontrunner the last several years, which really speaks to the strength of her character and her longevity.

  • LovesIrony

bigoted hypocrite of the year, perhaps but there are so many deserving candidates

  • Amanda B. Rekendwith

    I’m sure she’ll be a shoe-in for The Advocate’s POTY.
After all, wasn’t her bestie their choice last year?

  • Ian

Love that they have to give detailed instructions on how to cast a vote in an online poll. They should have started explaining how to connect to the internet through their followers 56k modems.

    • jmax

First they have to find their AOL “1000 hours of free internet” CD.

      • Oh’behr

Oh I remember the good old days of that horse and buggy sound of the modem connecting to AOL. Sigh, 1990s nostalgia. Lol.

        • jmax

Funny, until you mentioned the 90s and I realized how old I am 😬

  • She doesn’t even win as the Villon of the year. If they wanted to make a category for most pathetic fake victim ever then she might be in the running but otherwise no.

  • franklinb23

You know you’re in the wrong when even Westboro tells you to do your job or resign.

    • Chucktech

      Fox News, too.

  • Michael

I really can’t stand to look at that face. She really takes victim to the next level.

    • Larry in Oklahoma

I can just imagine that you have that same look that Fred Sanford used to give to Aunt Esther when he would see her (Esther).

  • Larry in Oklahoma

All Kim Davis did was to show the world that she is a stubborn ass, multiple married, kids outta wedlock, and being a belligerent lawbreaker, now ex-con. Please, by the time this issue comes out, she will be more forgotten than that Palin thang that also thinks SHE is God’s messenger, too. They both are losers.

  • Nicholas Rostov

The horse gets my vote. No, not Fiorina.

  • Rjd Omaha

An idea for a threesome: Picture this porn industry…Kim Davis with JoeMyGod and Joe the Plumber. Crackpot, cracked and butt crack all under the same covers.

    • oikos

Your trolling is sorely lacking. Try harder.

      • Rjd Omaha

Well well…aren’t you the hero. lol

        • oikos

          • Rjd Omaha

When I see that yawn…I know I’ve done my job. You’re welcome. I’m sorry if you feel threatened…well…not really.

          • Larry in Oklahoma

Christian Post is missing your much needed comments over there. So is 🙂

          • Rjd Omaha

            I’m an atheist…they banned me

          • oikos

So disappointing. We used to have a much higher caliber of trolls on JMG. Sadly they are all, like yourself, dull and boring and lacking any critical thinking skills.

          • Rjd Omaha

Maybe they left because they realized that you didn’t deserve, nor comprehend their high quality trollishness. I’m thinking your comment is more indicative of your underwhelming mindset. You should take a look at that.

          • oikos

            You continue to disappoint, sadly.

          • Rjd Omaha

So you think that saying it louder makes a difference?

          • Sk3ptic

Now he’s getting audio hallucinations. Uh-oh!

          • Rjd Omaha

            No…that’s audio “emissions”

          • Sk3ptic

          • oikos

          • Sk3ptic

Yeah, oikos surely feels threatened by your feeble commentary! No, really!

          • Rjd Omaha

            Well thanks for sharing, hon.

          • Sk3ptic

You’re welcome, sunshine. And please keep em coming. I can see you’re trying.

          • Rjd Omaha

            Stop staring at my ass.

          • Sk3ptic

Nope. I’m taking you under my wing. I feel that way about lots of pitiful creatures.

          • Lumpy Gaga

        • Sk3ptic

Hero? I don’t think that means what you think it means in this context.

    • Sk3ptic

HAHAHAHAHA! We have another troll from the bottom of the troll barrel!
Seriously–what happened to all the decent trolls? Who were at the very least CHALLENGING? We must have brought them to the light.
Time to improve your game. You’re fun to knock around for a little bit, but man, after a while it just gets tedious.

      • Rjd Omaha

Now, now, don’t be mad, girlfriend!

        • Sk3ptic

Mad? How does laughter read as anger, unless you’re woefully undersocialized? Hmmm. Just answered my own question.

          • Rjd Omaha

Your lips say Ha! But your aura says whaa.

          • Sk3ptic

My aura? Hahahahaha! You are a delight. You know who sees auras? Here’s a hint: they aren’t sane.

          • Rjd Omaha

When did I ever describe myself as sane? And you all say I need to up my game? lol

          • Sk3ptic

When did I say you described yourself as sane? Yes, for all our sakes, PLEASE up your game. Please.

          • Rjd Omaha

Holy hell. Why don’t you just say “I know you are…but what am I?”…and be done with it? No wonder all the high quality trollers don’t give you the attention you desire anymore. Very sad

          • Sk3ptic

            It’s a technique that works!

          • Rjd Omaha

Well…at least you can admit your dullness

          • Sk3ptic

Only with the likes of you, babycakes.

          • Rjd Omaha

            You had me at “only”

    • Jimmie Z

      It’s quite obvious to °me.°

  • David in Palm Springs

Speaks volumes when Liberty Counsel is giving their religious thumbs-up to someone whose been married four times, and is a two-time adulterous whore. Such high standards. Praise Jebus! Amen.

  • MikeBx2

She couldn’t even win “worst person of the year”. She’s a nobody whose only place is in forgotten bigot history. Buh-bye.

    • Oh’behr

Please let the door hit her on the way out.

  • teeveedub

Just in case you needed more evidence of how delusional these folks are …

  • Rusty Redfield

Well, a petty criminal will make a nice change from all those Nobel Peace Prize winners and world leaders and suchlike.

  • Bj Lincoln

There are so many who don’t belong on this list and so many who are missing from it. I would vote for Jim Obergefell.

  • StraightGrandmother

We are able to Vote NO, ckick on Kim Davis and then you can vote NO.
At Noon Eastern Time Kim has 5% Yes votes and 95% NO votes.

I voted FOR Justice Kennedy as having the Courts say that banning sexual minorities from Civil Marriage is Discrimination.
This is a decision that will impact many other countries, some sooner and some later. So that is why I picked him.

  • MikeBx2

How about they give it to that murdered Police Officer in Colorado, who did his job in spite of his personal beliefs.

  • Please, vote! She deserves the Ebony Dildo Award!

    • Joe knows who I am.

      Doesn’t she already have three?

      • Tor

She’s on her fourth one, but she used her first one twice, or something like that.

        • Darth Darth Binks

Isn’t there something in Leviticus about using a dildo more than once?

    • Stubenville

OT – I think I dated a drag queen named “Glitter Delight” for a while.

  • jomicur

Seriously? Now if MAD had a Person of the Year…

  • SockMikey

    How about Josh Duggar? 🙂

In a similar league with Kim Davis.

Not that I’d wish to see either one on the cover…

  • Rebecca Gardner

I voted for the best one on the list, Malala Yousafzai.

    • Yes, yes and yes!!

    • Oh’behr

Thanks for sharing the link. I also said YES for Malala.

  • Beto

I would love to have her grabbing that spot because you all know how Time will portray her as exactly what she is: a hack.

  • camel54

Imagine if she won? “And now, live from the Kentucky Governor’s official residence………..

    • Chucktech

LOL! LOVE the penthouse unit! What, no elevator??

      • David L. Caster

“Lovely 4-story walk-up, situated in a garden setting, features panoramic views and eclectic design.”

  • Arkansan

    LOL @ Liberty Counsel

  • D. J.

Heifer of the year? THOT of the year?

  • Lumpy Gaga

She has a better shot over at The Advocate.

  • DirtyPierre

I just went and voted NO. Just because.

  • Michael Rush

    I didn’t look at everyone , but
Kim Davis is at 95 % NO votes ,
Trump at 83 % NO votes
Hillary Clinton at 82 % NO votes .
    Obama 62 % NO votes ,
Jeb Bush beat Kim Davis at 97 % NO votes .

    and surprise :
Bernie Sanders at 78 % YES votes

  • sword

Wasn’t Hitler Time’s Man of the Year in the ’30s? Kim Davis certainly qualifies in the same category!

    • Stubenville

  • TuuxKabin

the most handsome, intelligent man of the year for me: Jorge Ramos. Dreamboat.

  • thevofl

Please do. Then Time can point out that Person of the Year isn’t necessarily a positive one. Hitler and Stalin were both Person of the Year.

  • tomfromthenews

If she were voted P of the Y, it wouldn’t be for reasons she thinks! (Remember, Hitler was P of the Y once.)

  • Marides48

    No way!

  • Tor

Is there a category for Most Horrible Person of the Year?

  • prjoe

Liberty Council is not totally wrong: ” Kim Davis inspired a nation and the world to fight … for equality and against religious bigotry”.

  • Silver Badger

You have to be a Facebook or a twitter member to vote. I guess I’ll have to abstain.

  • Gene Perry

Why vote for Kim Davis? I’d bet that there are very few in her trailer park that subscribe to TIME.

    • Silver Badger

You subscribe to Time and TV Guide when you enter the Publisher’s Clearing House Sweepstakes. They say no purchase is required, but just in case it doesn’t hurt to hedge your bets.

  • Larry Larson

Wouldn’t the “Person of the Year” title qualify Mrs. Kimberly “Kim” Bailey Wallace Davis McIntyre Davis as a false idol to her God?

  • Cherry

Has Trump urged his supporters to vote for him?

  • Queequeg

Ther are a lot of good, deserving people on the list, like Bernie Sanders and Barack Obama. Absurd choices like Kim Kardashian and, of course the repugnat Kim Davis. I was going to vote for Sanders, but I refuse to join Facebook. In the big picture, the whole thing is meaningless.

  • Michael Senesac

I vote for Jim Obergefell. That would piss them off.

  • Dreaming Vertebrate

    She is eminently qualified for
    and certainly deserves the reward
for DogNapping DumbAss Bigot of the Year.
    Got my vote.

  • James

Don’t you have to be human to qualify as “person” of the year?

  • bambinoitaliano

    Was a turnip not available?

  • Silver_Witch

Oh please like Davis would ever get the time cover as most “whatever” person in america…let alone the world. She is a hateful soul…clearly just a money raise and to get crazies to go the site can skew the results.

  • Michael Hampton

    No thanks.

Well, Hitler, Stalin, the Ayatollah, and Nixon all got it, so it’s not out of the question.

  • A rabid shit weasil? He does realize this is a popularity contest, not the world’s ugliest dog?

  • Happy Dance

Malala Yousafzai is in the lead, and Kim has about as much chance as a turd resurrecting itself into God himself!

  • nocadrummer

Wow. Even Kim Kardashian has her beat. Nevertheless… Crazy Fundamentalists might just be able to push her up some. I just voted “NO” for her and the anti-gay & anti-choice nutjobs who are running for President.

  • Galvestonian

    Is there a “SKANK” magazine ? She’d certainly qualify…

  • glass

I nominate her for best supporting actress in a religious money scam. And possibly best method actor for crying in public, but she may be tied with Boner. She gets an honorable mention for rick rolling the pope.

  • Homo Erectus

Why would you pick a criminal bigot for person of the year? Oh, they did pick the pope – nevermind.

  • Paige Turner

    Kim Davis?

Yeah – Mickey Mouse has done more that this shrew

    I vote for Mickey Mouse

  • Gianni

I’d vote for her if the title was Christian Qunt Of The Year.

  • Traxley Launderette

  • Ninja0980

Why would the bigots want someone who showed the religious freedom farce for what it was back in the spotlight?

  • Ronald Reagan is Dead!

I have the perfect Times cover for her.

  • Jerry Kopp

To nominate a bigot for person of the year is INSANE! How dare Time Magazine do this? This sends an evil message that your faith beliefs are to be accepted. That’s nuts. Religious faith is a chosen affliction no different than pedophilia. We do not accept the beliefs or actions od pedophiles so why accept the beliefs or actions of those afflicted with religious faith. I didn’t see Jerry Sandusky or Jared Fogel on the cover for persons of the year so why put that Bigot on it. If there has ever been a case for the use of “Don’t ask Don’t Tell” religious faith should fall under that category. It is offensive to the sane and offensive to reality. Putting your faith beliefs out in public Is as offensive as rape , peeing in the street or any other thing that is simply not socially acceptable. Why do people think that people should be accepted for BELIEFS.

  • Darth Darth Binks

Nice. She is inthe running with a horse. This award is useless, just like Davis.
