Mike Huckabee: The Anti-Abortion Movement Has No Responsibility For “Domestic Terrorism” [VIDEO]

Mike Huckabee appeared on CNN this morning where he denounced the “domestic terrorism” in Colorado, adding, “I don’t know any pro-life leader, any––if you can tell me one, please correct me––but I don’t know of anybody who has suggested violence toward Planned Parenthood personnel.” Anti-abortion leaders may not condone violence, but Huckabee needs to visit the comments section on just about any right wing site.

Huckabee blames the SPLC for “domestic terrorism” against the Family Research Council because a crazy man saw the FRC listed as a hate group on the SPLC’s site. But OH NO, there’s NO link to THIS instance of “domestic terrorism” according to the man who has literally compared Planned Parenthood to ISIS. Watch below.

    • Well GOP “thinkers” your Trump-pregnancy is older than 20 weeks, you are stuck with this fetus until your delivery date, enjoy!

      • TampaDink

But take heart, you & your party can disrespect that life as much as you want, once it has ended the sacred birthing process.

    • Platos_Redhaired_Stepchild
      • Bj Lincoln

        No doubt!

        • Steve Teeter

No doubt. There was a scene in the Star Trek blooper reel from a show when Capt. Kirk’s body has been hijacked by a woman, using mysterious alien technology. Kirk (or whoever) has just been give a physical by Dr. McCoy who tells him, in all seriousness, “Captain. You’re pregnant.” William Shatner doubles up with laughter and rolls off the exam table to go crash on the floor.

But you did attend a hatefest where a preacher explicitly called for death to gays. Are you going to denounce that terrorist ?

    • Queequeg

Oh course not, because that preacher, like Huckabee, loves Jesus.

      • David Walker

More like “Huckafuck loves Jeebus, because of the money he brings in.”

    • Joseph Miceli

And just why didn’t the news drone at CNN ask that fucking question?

    When you call doctors murderers…

  • Comixbear

Well, I don’t know of any mainstream Muslim leader who has suggested a jihad against the United States. Ball back in your court, Fuckabee.

  • In a country where half the population believe in the
death penalty for murder, calling medical providers ‘baby-killers’ is
tantamount to calling for their execution.

    End of story.

  • Remember when Bill O’Reilly spent weeks denouncing Doctor Tiller the Baby-Killer to an audience of millions on FOX?

Doctor Tiller was then murdered. Bill O’Reilly denied any wrongdoing.

Because he didn’t pull the trigger himself.

    That’s how they work.

    • Michael Rush

Cheryl Deann Sullenger is a direct link to anti-abortion terrorism :

The anti-choice group Operation Rescue has been consulting with the Center for Medical Progress to attack Planned Parenthood with deceptively edited footage. Operation Rescue attempts to stop the “Abortion Holocaust” by “systematically harassing” abortion clinic workers.

Operation Rescue’s Senior Policy Advisor Was Jailed For Attempting To Bomb An Abortion Clinic :

Cheryl Deann Sullenger (born 1955) is an American anti-abortion terrorist and convicted federal felon. She pleaded guilty to conspiring to blow up an abortion clinic in 1988. She also provided the scheduled court dates of physician George Tiller to Scott Roeder, who assassinated him in 2009. Sullenger is currently the senior policy advisor for Kansas-based anti-abortion group Operation Rescue.

By referring to the work Planned Parenthood do as the murder of babies, Huckabee is encouraging the next christian terrorist to shoot up their clinics. In reality he must see, like many of his supporters, Robert Lewis Dear as a Kim Davis. Shame on him.

    • Queequeg

Lies and deceit are part and parcel of the Huckabee universe.

  • Queequeg

Huckabee does not accept responsibility for anything, yet spouts incendiary rhetoric constantly. His denial of responsibility extends to his family, in letting his son get away with torturing and killing a dog.

I am starting to rethink my opposition to waterboarding.

    • skeptical_inquirer

http://thinkprogress.org/security/2013/01/31/1518741/sean-hannity-waterboard/ Sean Hannity once said he’d undergo one just to prove it wasn’t torture but then didn’t. When someone asked when he was going to follow through, he threw a tantrum.

      • PLAINTOM

        Bullies are all talk.

      • David Walker

Reminds me of the preacher earlier this year he promised he’d set himself on fire if we gained marriage equality. We did; he didn’t, saying, if I recall, he didn’t really mean it.

        • Ed Burrow

I think he claimed it was taken out of context. Uh huh ok.

        • Now that winter’s coming he should follow through and make himself useful.

      • IamM

Christopher Hitchens did get voluntarily waterboarded. He didn’t last long and was emphatic that it was torture. I’m sure you can find the video on YouTube.

        • skeptical_inquirer

Yes, I’ve seen it. It was a matter of seconds. I can’t imagine Sean Hannity lasting any longer and I suspect he knows that too.

    • UrsusArctos

This is SO going to be “shared” with fundie family members.

  • Soren456

As a “moral leader,” when you speak viciously on any topic—abortion, gay citizens, refugees—you grant tacit permission to your listeners and followers to turn your words into action.

You can’t even plausibly deny that. It’s pure truth. It’s how this works.

    • RoFaWh

The phrase “moral leader” does not apply to Huckabee. Never has, never will.

      ITYM “immoral leader”.

The GOP and the parasites sucking the life out of it are like a long freight train out of control on a downward slope.

    • Homo Erectus

      Onward christian soldiers!

  • Robincho

Whoa. The yeggs can’t scramble fast enough on this one…

  • stevendrowe

If the GOP valued life they wouldn’t be licking the arse holes of the NRA who don’t care about life, they care about profits from gun sales. If they are pro-life then they need to do something about access to guns for those who are hard of thinking and who are easily taken in by GOP and other rhetoric such as anti-abortion, anti-LGBT etc who threaten if not actually go ahead and be violent towards those groups of citizens.

    • zhera

If they valued life they would ALL be against the death penalty. Even Dems aren’t all against that, and it’s fucking crazy!

      • stevendrowe

Ugh, death penalty, don’t get me started on that. That’s why this is called the Middle East of America.

    • Steven Leahy

They don’t give a shit about life after you pop out.

      • Silver Badger

The do care about their OWN lives. Just no one else’s.

      • Wynter Marie Starr

That’s because they are pro birth and not pro life. If they were pro life, they wouldn’t get their panties twisted at birth control (babies would be wanted if women had that control), prenatal care would be available and affordable, all babies would have proper nutrition and healthcare, and daycare would be more readily available and affordable.

        • yetanotherLaura

Preach it, sister! They only want to restrict women’s right to choice over their own bodies, and couldn’t give a flying fuck what happens after they give birth. They’ve proven that over and over and over and over again.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

It’s about control, Laura. It’s what it’s always been about. Women’s sexuality must be controlled. Women themselves need to have every area of their lives controlled. I’m actually amazed that we ever got the right to vote!

          • David Walker

Only as long as you have 8 different forms of ID. Or even one government-approved.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

That’s only for black women, David. White women are good to go.

(I went to vote in the election this month and they couldn’t find my name. I lost it for a few minutes. They eventually found me once they looked in the right book, but I was really concerned that I wouldn’t be able to vote. It’s a really horrible feeling.)

          • yetanotherLaura

Not just black women. I saw an immigrant woman in a hijab turned away at my former polling place in Virginia. Needless to say, I was outraged, but there was nothing I could do at that point. I really hope she went and got a state ID so she could vote thereafter — if she’d gone to the trouble of becoming a US citizen, turning her away from the polls was an appalling violation of decency and fairness!

          • Wynter Marie Starr

Muslim is even worse than black to these folks.

I have a friend who wears a hijab and she came over to sell some of her stuff when I was having a garage sale. Most people were very nice to her, but one woman made a nasty comment under her breath, which I heard. She wanted something I had for sale and I quoted an outrageous price for it. She got angry and I just said that sometimes you have to pay for bigotry.

Americans come in all different shapes, colors, cultures, faiths, etc. Even if you don’t like it.

          • yetanotherLaura

Good for you! The only way to deal with bigots is to stand up to them. It may not change their mind, but it will at least usually make them shut up.

The poll workers were very apologetic; this neighborhood was very mixed, with folks from all over the world, and she was far from the only Muslim woman in there to vote. But their hands were tied by the RWNJ legislature. Which makes voting in state legislative elections at least as important as national elections, because they’re the ones who make these racist laws barring American citizens from exercising their citizenship rights.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

The poll workers must follow the rules set forth no matter how they feel about things. Your point is very well taken and illustrates why every election is important and why we can’t sit out any of them.

          • yetanotherLaura

Yup. And they’d even deny the right to abortion in cases of incest and rape. Let’s allow unrestricted violence against women, then blame them, and then make them live with the consequences for the rest of their lives! Oh boy, such fun!

Seriously, this patriarchal shit has me scared for the future of this country. I just hope that sensible, intelligent people can somehow find a way to grab the narrative back from these crazies and reinstitute ALL the protections of the Constitution, ESPECIALLY freedom of (and from) religion! If that’s their idea of religion, I don’t want it anywhere near me!

          • Wynter Marie Starr

I agree completely, Laura. About every single point. Anyone who would force a woman to have a baby conceived by rape or incest is an absolute monster.

          • Eric in Oakland

And the same people are opposed to HPV vaccines and sex education. They are afraid of female sexuality and want to punish women for being sexually active.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

If they were really pro life, they’d be all for sex-ed. Teaching young people to have sex responsibly can save their lives and their futures. Hep C, HIV, and other sexually transmitted diseases would be significantly reduced, accidental pregnancies would be reduced and reduce the number of abortions as a side benefit. The only thing sex ed doesn’t do is encourage kids to have sex since they are going to have sex regardless. Just who do these people think boys are having sex with? They not only want to control female sexuality, they want to shame the women that do have sex. And, of course, punish them as you noted.

          • yetanotherLaura

But it’s okay for boys to have sex! They’re “sowing their wild oats!” And any girl that would have sex with them is OBVIOUSLY a slut! The hypocrisy is mind-blowing.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

I guess it never occurs to them that the boys have to have sex with someone. Unless they’d be happy if all the girls remained virgins and the boys sowed their wild oats with each other? One thing for sure, it’s always someone else’s fault.

          • Homo Erectus

When I was in high school none of the boys were virgins, but all of the girls were except for one. Can you imagine?

          • Wynter Marie Starr

No, I really can’t. Unless three quarters of the boys and one quarter of the girls were lying.

          • Homo Erectus

Jaynie James was one busy little girl 😉

          • Steve Teeter

Oh, I wasn’t lying. I was a virgin in high school and my close friends knew it (they weren’t) and I wasn’t very happy about it. All it took was going to college and meeting the man I would spend the rest of my life with.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

Oh, boys don’t say they are virgins when they aren’t, but girls do. Boys will say they aren’t virgins when they are, so I have no doubt you were telling the truth. Everyone one else is suspect given the numbers involved. Unless every boy was with the young lady who admitted to not being a virgin. And, if that is the case, I wonder how she is today. Girls aren’t generally that promiscuous without other factors coming into play and none of those factors are good things.

          • Chucktech

No, no, it’s the Dear LORD who will punish those women.

          • Eric in Oakland

Isn’t it funny how easy it is to thwart the almighty with a simple vaccine? I guess it’s because the needles are made of ferrous metal. Yahweh is just like faeries being unable to touch iron.

          • JW Swift

Sure. That’ll be their reward eventually,(snark) but in the meantime, all the self-righteous types feel entitled to shame the sluts in order to make their lives a “hell on earth”.

          • IamM

If only they would be satisfied with leaving punishment to God.

          • Homo Erectus

          • Wynter Marie Starr

I’m sorry to say that if there were a way to check for a gay fetus, the anti choice folks would trample each other to justify the one exception to their rule. And, that is just sick, but I’m also sure that’s exactly what would happen.

          • fuzzybits

Linda Harvy would probably have a party.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

Yes, but her guests would be poorly dressed and no fun at all.

          • And just think…Linda Harvey is the result of the sperm that WON.

          • IamM

Yep. It’s really noticeable how they work to make abortion unavailable rather than unnecessary.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

Yet, if we attempted to control the flow of Viagra, there’d be hell to pay. Whatever your beliefs, follow them, but don’t impose them on people whose circumstances you know nothing about.

Sex ed really would go a long way to cutting down on abortion. Also easy access to free condoms in schools and drugstores across the country. No questions asked and no lectures given.

          • Steve Teeter

In the early 90s I volunteered in New Orleans at N.O./AIDS Task Force. At the time it was sort of a store front operation on Frenchmen Street, and anyone could walk in. There was a big fishbowl full of condoms on the counter, and it was common for boys as young as fourteen or so to come in, grab a handful, and rush out. We never said anything.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

And a giant fishbowl of condoms should be in every drugstore and HS in the country. No matter the cost, it will be cheaper than what we are doing now. In two years or less it wouldn’t be a big deal and just be part of the American landscape.

        • canoebum

And they’d abolish the death penalty. Sure, in some cases it feels like its justified, but society’s desire for revenge is not worth the life of a single innocent person. We all know innocent people have been put to death by the State. The death penalty cannot be fairly applied, so it shouldn’t be applied at all.

      • They don’t give a shit about the fetus before birth, or they would provide free prenatal care and food stamps to assure a healthy baby is born.

      • Homo Erectus

But don’t you dare use the umbilical cord to help others.

      • Steve Teeter

Oh, I think they care about you when you’re old enough to buy a gun.

  • LonelyLiberal

See the little rats and cockroaches scurry from the scrutiny.

  • Steven Leahy

Well then Huck probably not much different from many on the right wing equating all muslims to terrorists

  • Wynter Marie Starr

    From Kathleen Turner’s Blog:

“Last week, Ted Cruz promoted the endorsement of Troy Newman, an anti-choice leader who has gone so far as to say that a perfectly biblical society would execute its abortion providers.”

    What’s that you said, huckster?

    • Joseph Miceli

Shame on You!!! Facts are from the Devil!

      • Wynter Marie Starr

          • Joseph Miceli

I was just in Starbucks and told them how much I loved the “Satan Sipper.”

            Everybody fell out laughing!

          • Wynter Marie Starr

I love my bunny slippers and my slipper pumps w/feathers that I rarely wear. But I really love my slipper booties.

        • Joseph Miceli

Hah! In religion class back in Catholic Grammar school, I was known as “the Devil’s Advocate.”

I wish I had a badge saying that!

          • Wynter Marie Starr

When a new pope is elected, the “Devil’s Advocate” actually plays quite a vital role. Being the devil’s advocate is a vital role in any society.

(Check ETSY. I bet you could get a pretty nice custom badge saying just that!)

          • Joseph Miceli

I wear it in my heart, proudly! (wink)

          • MaryOGrady

The devil’s advocate is actually the official charged with making the strongest case *against* sainthood for a dead Catholic who has been proposed for canonization, i.e., inclusion in the official list of saints. There is no role for a devil’s advocate in a papal election.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

You’re right. This was something I’d read about years ago and confused the two. Not being a catholic, it’s not something I’d know offhand. Thanks for the correction.

          • MaryOGrady

You are welcome. Believe me, I wish that I were not a survivor of Catholic school who has this information at my fingertips after 50 years of dedicated apostasy.

          • Wynter Marie Starr

I’m truly lucky that I wasn’t raised with religion. My parents flirted with Buddhism and I got some of that and my grandfather was nominally Catholic, but never went to church and didn’t follow any of the rules. My grandmother came from a long tradition of paganism, but was also non practicing as far as I know. I do know that my grandfather was afraid of both her and her mother and treated them both like royalty.

Reading lone gunman Floyd McCorckle and his one man mini-rampage-Etta at FRC, which you and your ilk used to attack gay people:

“I don’t know any gay rights leader, any––if you can tell me one, please correct me––but I don’t know of anybody who has suggested violence toward FRC or church personnel.”

  • skeptical_inquirer

Ilse Hogue said it best in her tweet:

Sorry, David Daleiden. You don’t get to create fake videos and accuse

and act shocked when someone shoots to kill in those same facilities the

So his and others’ crazy rhetoric doesn’t incite violence but let someone utter anything that Jesus followers can deem as anti-christian and they say it’s leading to the criminalization of their religion and to internment camps. Words only matter to them when they disagree with those words. Got it.

OK Huckabee, I’ll give you that, if you’ll give the Islamic religion the same courtesy…Hello? Huckster? You there? Hello?

  • Jan Wesselius

What a Goddamned bald face liar! He says he doesn’t condone violence just after attending and speaking as a guest speaker at a kill the gays forum hosted by Rev Swanson in Iowa.

According to the Huckster, when a Muslim kills it’s terrorism, when a Christian kills it’s a tragedy.

Huckabee you truly are a nasty, sleazy hypocrite.

    • Chucktech

The ONLY props I’d give this slimy piece of christianist garbage is that he did use the term “domestic terrorism.” I’m, frankly, a bit shocked by that.

  • skeptical_inquirer

I think incidents like this are what drive more and more younger people away from religion. The hypocrisy, the violence, the psychopathic indifference to suffering . . .

Here’s one for you Huck, Mark Howick pastor Spirit One Center Wichita KS.

  • Raymond Arsenault

according to Huckabee everyone else is to blame. He needs to look in the mirror.

  • billbear1961

You lying son of a bitch, your insane and hateful rhetoric is directly responsible for provoking the demented into violence like this!

You KNOW what you’re doing, fascist politicians like YOU and your allies in the 24/7 right-wing propaganda machine!!

You’ve got BLOOD on your hands, for encouraging this AND for allowing NOTHING to be done to rein in the deplorable GUN VIOLENCE in this backwards country!!

And YOU are guilty, too, “journalists,” for refusing to hold these MONSTERS accountable for their endless LIES and extremist views!!

ALL the OBVIOUS evidence is there–in their repeated and relentless VILE words and actions–but you LET them get away with it!

You LET them make you FEARFUL of using the TRUTH and FACTS to do your JOBS to EXPOSE them for the fascist GANGSTERS they ARE!!

By remaining silent, you AID AND ABET THEM!!

YOU have BLOOD on your hands, as well!!

Is it your intention to allow the irresponsible CIRCUS you’ve encouraged for YEARS to now degenerate into an arena of blood and DEATH–IS IT?!

It THAT the DEPRAVED game you’re playing?! Will it get you the ratings you crave over all else?! Will you sacrifice all human DECENCY to achieve that?!

    Have you sunk THAT low?!

Do your goddamned JOBS or STEP ASIDE and decent human beings will do that VITAL work FOR you!!

There are still MANY in this country who CARE about this democracy, about the TRUTH and about preserving a CIVILIZED SOCIETY!!

      November 29th, 2015

      Dear Bill,

I absolutely agree with what you outlined above. As a journalist and a 37 year veteran of political reporting, I cannot disagree with your pointed critique that many in my profession are absolute failures in best serving the interests of the greater whole by not calling these extremists out and shining a spotlight on their hateful rhetoric and bigotry.

But, I’d like you consider that the left is just as culpable for not directly and forcefully countering this. There’s been way too much talk of compromise. Your society is now at a point where the lines are drawn, the culture and atmosphere is so toxic, that I fear the results will continue to be worse, way worse.

The hearts and minds can only be countered by a disciplined approach and bright pinpointing of these types which sadly the left oft times does not. The right is much better at messaging than the left and this is one reason why.

I think that voices like yours, not moderated, should be given much more ink/airtime so that others whom themselves are just as angry as you can be heard.

My profession needs to sharply curtail the Huckabee types and maybe spend more time focusing on where the blame lies and making sure folks get that.

I can only however just hope. Thanks for listening eh?

      • billbear1961

I am extremely frustrated with the Democratic Party’s spineless incompetence.

It’s often SO bad–and inexplicable–that I’ve begun to wonder, is it incompetence, cowardice, or, at least in SOME cases, COMPLICITY??

Thank you for your very thoughtful post, BL (and for not taking me to task for too many all-caps!).

    • yetanotherLaura

The answers to your three questions, Billbear, are yes, yes, and yes. And yes to infinity.

      • billbear1961

I fear you’re right, dear Laura.

        • yetanotherLaura

Human decency is no longer a desirable trait if you want to be the Republican nominee — or, indeed, Republican candidate at ANY level, from what I can tell. The situation in the various state legislatures is equally appalling, the result of all the blatant gerrymandering.

I can only hope that the nonpartisan commissions redrawing congressional districts in several states catch on nationwide, allowing the decent people to have a say in their own government again. Because there are a LOT of decent people out there who no longer bother to vote because they know their candidates are going to lose because their support has been gerrymandered out from underneath them.

The Republicans may be imploding at the national level, but I truly fear for what they’re doing at the state level. The only hope we have is to MAKE SURE a Democrat is elected president so that SCOTUS doesn’t end up shifting even farther to the (religious) right. WE HAVE TO GET OUT THE DECENT HUMAN VOTE AGAIN! And it’s up to ALL of us to do that!

  • Eric in Oakland

This just proves that he (and most of the anti-choice crowd) don’t really believe their “abortion is murder” rhetoric. If they did, then they would have to consider acts like this to be morally justified and praiseworthy.

  • Who Me?

Just as Huckabee doesn’t bear any responsibility for his son’s being a psycopathic animal torturer and murderer.

Just as Jeb! bears no responsibility for his daughter’s drug addiction, or Fiorina for her stepdaughter’s drug addiction and death.

Just as Rubio bears no responsibility for misappropriating state party funds for his own personal use.

Just as Trump bears no responsiblity for his business bankruptcies.

Just as Perry bore no responsibility for racist signage at his family’s hunting compound.

Juat as Walker bore no responsibliity for his failure to finish school.

Just as Jindal bears no responsiblity for Lousiana’s budget crisis.

This is one of the most irresponsible Republican fields in history.

    • Robert Adams

And let us not forget that every time a guy like this has his company do good, he gets all the praise and a bonus, but when things go bad, it is all the fault of the employees who actually do the job.

    • Who? Her?

Fiorina just about wrecked HP too. But it wasn’t her fault. Just ask her.

    • Helen Damnation

      That’s my boy!

  • Isn’t this exactly what we expected? The Christian Terrorists expound their lying rhetoric on their followers and when those followers actually take it upon themselves to murder the Christian Terrorists scream “It wasn’t us! You can’t blame us!”

Christian Terrorists = Christian ISIS alive and well in America.

  • Joe knows who I am.

I hope his lies cause a heart attack.

    • Maybe once the wizard gives him a heart….but since the wizard is now Queen Latifah, the odds of that happening are extremely slim.

      • billbear1961

He wouldn’t know what to do with it!

  • ExGayTherapyKills

That is the problem, Christians are not responsible.

  • Robert Adams

Not acknowledging responsibility doesn’t make one not responsible.

Typical type of thinking for these folks — all good things are the result of their herculean efforts, all bad things are everyone else’s fault.

  • Mark

Why the fuck do I feel like we are screaming at an empty bucket?

  • oikos

Members of the Nazi party had no responsibility for the Holocaust nor did KKK members bear any responsibility in the lynching of black Americans in the south.

      • oikos

Sorry. Will there be a counter rally?

        • Yes. We had one of these hate rallies this Saturday, though this time not sponsored by the KKK. This time it was a Tea Thing event. Masked gunmen showed up to protest the fact that there’s a mosque in Irving. This shit is being driven by our mayor Beth Van Duyne.

Boy, the conservative movement is in an all-out war against the SPLC.

We can’t let them do this: these people are terrorists, and conservatism is highly dangerous.

Please, people, if you’re going to make a donation this Xmas season, give money to the SPLC. It’s definitely worthwhile.

Mike Huckabee proves that when it comes to politics, he’s from the Pontius Pilate school.of leadership.

  • tomfromthenews

The shooter in Colo Springs was not an “anti abortion leader” but I feel sure he was absolutely enabled by the rhetoric of people like Huckabee and Fiorina. They need to share blame in this.

    • Sure As Shootin’

It’s not about “shaing blame”, it’s about acknowledging responsibility for having created a toxic rhetorical environment over a personal, private, legitimate and LEGAL healthcare matter, with said toxic envirnment encouraging and inciting extremists (only SOME of whom are mentally ill) to act out violently.

Mike Huckabee has the blood of that born-again, pro-life pastor on his hands. Sure as shootin’.

  • Homo Erectus

Even though we have a strong disagreement with the people that engage in dismembering human babies, we would never incite violence. WTF was that?

    • ultragreen

It’s yet another example of the inflammatory rhetoric that triggers violent attacks against Planned Parenthood by right-wing wingnuts. It’s ironic that Huckabee is STILL spouting inflammatory rhetoric while claiming that he is appalled by the most recent violent attack.

  • Traxley Launderette

I am bracing for news tomorrow that the other two murdered civilians were patients, women seeking assistance from PP. The shitstorm will explode to level 11. Think Huckabee (who, again, appears to be constraining a monstrous rage dump), Fiorina, and Trump sound like sociopathic liars right now? This week will MUCH worse.

I’m going outside for a while.

  • Octavio

Uugh . . . I refuse to let this ass wipe ruin my day because he’s such a fountain of human puss. Huckabee is a liar. He is dishonest. He’s a grifter. And if there were a gawd, the imaginary gawd would be advised to pick better friends.

  • Hucksterbee is vile repugnant scum.

He should be shunned from civilized society.

  • What makes me so mad about all this abortion rhetoric is that they don’t care a single whit about fetuses. Hellz, they don’t care about any human who has the audacity to stand between them and elected office. They want power, they know how to push the buttons on a wide swath of voters and keep on pushing those buttons like a monkey on coke until they are elected. So what if it causes some innocent lives to perish? They most likely wouldn’t vote for them.

    • ultragreen

In the majority of cases, I think the hostility of pro-life people toward, not only abortion, but family planning services in general is being driven by the desire to exercise power and authority over women, rather than any genuine concern about the life of a fetus. If they were really as pro-life as they claim, then they would be concerned not only about the fetus in the womb, but they would also care about what happens to children after they are born. And yet, the typical pro-lifer is hostile toward social service programs that benefit children.

    • Clive Johnson

      Dear biki, for your consideration:

In it the author advocates for large number of ways that we can avoid reductions to and also enhance IQ. IQ is far from the whole picture of human capacity, but it’s a key component.

It seems to me that if the “pro-life” forces were actually in support of life, they would have been all over this kind of research a long time ago. On the contrary, they resist most efforts to enhance the lives of, as you noted, everything from the pre-natal to well into later childhood.

I remember reading about early in the 70s a legislative proposal to fully address childhood abuse and neglect. The bill was substantially watered down by conservatives at the time out of an all-too-typical fear of “socialism.” We’ve had generations of kids that would be in a better place now if that original law had passed. We’ve all paid a heavy price for the conservatism in our midst.

      • I’ve read this before, and was amazed by the mostly simple “fixes” to ensure an ever smarter population for tomorrow. But the right doesnt care for any human, except for the white male xtian voter. It took me a while before I understood their love of the xtian voters, and its because they are used to bowing to the judgment of a higher power, their minister firstly and their trilogy of gods.

        Thanks for sending that along!!

  • ultragreen

Huckabee denies that the Pro-Life Movement supports acts of terrorism against abortion clinics. In fact, such acts of domestic terrorism have been occurring for a long time in the United States. Here are some statistics from Wikipedia on the violence that has been directed at abortion clinics, staff, and clients since 1977 in the United States:

Murders: At least 8 people killed (now at least 11 people killed)
    Attempted Murder: 17 incidents
    Death Threats: 383 incidents
    Assault or Battery: 153 incidents
    Miscellaneous Injuries: 13 incidents
    Stink Bomb Attacks: 100 incidents
    Conventional Bombings: 41 incidents
Physical Invasion of Clinic Buildings: 373 incidents
    Anthrax Letter Threats: 655 incidents
    Kidnappings: 3 incidents
    Bomb Threats: 619 incidents
    Arson Attacks: 173 incidents
Attempted Bombings or Arson: 91 incidents
    Vandalism: 1264 incidents
    Trespassing: 1630 incidents

  • rednekokie

When the members of Congress who fight to kill Planned Parenthood, the preachers who constantly promote the killing of gays, or of any physician who performs abortions, and the ignorant masses who listen to these people and go out and willingly do their bidding, come to the realization that their preachments are simply hateful and full of death wishes for anyone who disagrees with them, then I might – perhaps – take what Mr. Huckabee says with more than a partial grain of salt.
Until then, every syllable which spews forth from his hateful tongue is seed from the devil he so loudly denies, but so willingly promotes.
    He is incredibly evil!

  • fuzzybits

Will not watch him today. Isn’t he late though for the buffet at Golden Corral ?

  • Michael Dann

No True Anti-Abortionist (TM) would murder.

  • Gianni

He wouldn’t look the other way at something like this? My ass, you lying sack of shit. These bastards never, ever, in their anti-abortion diatribes make any effort to insist to their listeners/followers/believers that violence of any kind against clinics, personnel, and doctors is being suggested or encouraged or will be acceptable. No! They just get them angry and turn them loose. I should think that “Pro-Life” would also include those of us who are already here and living in the world. He creeps me out.

“…especially us in the pro-life movement? WTF is that supposed to mean!? Because we believe it is the womens right to choose and she may choose abortion, we don’t care as much about life?! FUCK YOU!
They may not have ‘suggested’ attacking but they sure as shit have implied it! Same shit we have had to put up with. “We have never told anyone to kill queers. We just call them everything in the book and compare them to the worst of humanity.”
