Virginia Mayor On Muslim Refugees: Maybe Those Japanese Internment Camps Were A Good Idea

Democratic Roanoke Mayor David Bowers today issued a press release which suggests that those WWII-era Japanese internment camps were not only a good idea then, they might be the way to go now with Muslim refugees. Who he totally doesn’t want in his town. “Better safe than sorry.”

Bowers: “I’m reminded that President Franklin D. Roosevelt felt compelled to sequester Japanese foreign nationals after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, and it appears that the threat of harm to America from ISIS now is just as real and serious as that from our enemies then.”

In 1991 President George H. W. Bush formally apologized for the camps on behalf of the United States, saying, “The internment of Americans of Japanese ancestry was a great injustice, and it will never be repeated.”bowers2
