HOUSTON: Hate Group Issues Another Offensive Ad In Campaign To Repeal LGBT Rights Law [VIDEO]

Early voting begins today in the battle to retain Houston’s LGBT rights ordinance and Texas Values has issued yet another douchetastic “bathroom bill” scare ad. They write:

On Tuesday, November 3rd, Houston voters will finally have a chance to vote for or against the controversial LGBT “Equal Rights” Bathroom Ordinance (or HERO), known as Proposition 1 on the ballot. The election is already drawing national attention as it will have a tremendous impact on future religious freedom battles across the country. All eyes will be on Houston. The vote comes after a more than yearlong campaign by Houston Mayor Annise Parker to illegally disenfranchise voters and intimidate opponents, including efforts to silence Houston pastors by attempting to subpoena their sermons and private church communications. A unanimous Texas Supreme Court ruled against the Mayor in July, ordering the Council to stop enforcement of the ordinance and “comply with its duties” to allow Houstonians to vote on the issue.

What they don’t mention, of course, is that the current law also protects veterans and other groups when it comes to housing, employment, and public accommodation protections.

Notice how even in the ad the “man” is just minding his own business in the changing room, which he’s using for…changing? Also, isn’t this just a copy of the an ad that was used previously in Alaska?

    • oikos

How dare someone use the changing room for its intended purpose? I demand an investigation. Benghazi!!!!!!!

      • bsinps

        LOL ! ! !

      • GC

        Hahaha!

      • GC

Maybe the two changing rooms should be relabeled and repurposed, not “Women” and “Men”, but “Orgy” and “Just Changing”.

        • oikos

These bigots can’t help themselves obsessing about their changing room sex fantasies.

  • Sean

    ..

    • MarkOH

      That TRULY says it all

    • Herald

This really needs to be run as an ad for this campaign. Plus more on what this ordinance really does.

    • Bruno

The problem is, the guy on the left probably won’t get to use the women’s restrooms either. They don’t want transgendered people using any bathroom at all, even if they can only legislate against them using half of them.

    • Bj Lincoln

Ms Laverne can share my bathroom anytime she wants.

      • GanymedeRenard

Haha! I was thinking the same thing about Mr. Aydian Dowling!

        • Todd20036

          You two are both sluts.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, mind you….

          • GanymedeRenard

Can’t speak for BJ. Now, regarding myself… You, my friend, have no idea *grins mischievously*

        • Friday

          Likely not, actually. :)

    • Jack M.

But their appearance is irrelevant under the proposed law. All that matters is their declaration as to what gender they identify with. So you could have just as easily put up the pre-transition photos of Amy Dowling and Roderick Cox. The proposed law would allow a fully female-appearing Amy to use the men’s room and a fully male-appearing Roderick to use the women’s bathroom. I suppose that makes sense to you. Further, the law would allow a non-trans male to access the women’s bathroom simply by declaring himself a “transwoman.” He might be dressed like a Hell’s Angel, have a full beard, and might be grinning when he says it, but the declaration is all that it takes, and everyone else will have to accept it and hope that women aren’t harmed.

      • Sean

Women are going to be harmed whether it is legal for a transgender MTF to use the public restroom or locker room or not. One who intends to rape is going to do it no matter what. Transgender MTF have been raped & violently attacked by heterosexual male savages while using the mens room they were forced to use also. Transgender tax payers have rights also & those rights will be respected, protected, & accepted by all if they want to keep theirs. This is not negotiable.

        • noni

I think this video is instructive about how the transphobes are using the same argument that was used against gay people in the military. Former Rep. Patrick Murphy (the one from Pennsylvania) explains exactly how this issue should be viewed when he put famous homophobe and hater Elaine Donnelly in her place when she tried to claim lesbians attacked women in the military as a reason to disallow gay people in the military. She does this at 2:55. I recommend listening to this whole video, it’s only 5 minutes but very powerful.

How I wish Rep Patrick Murphy (Pennsylvania) was still in the US House. He’s a hero to the LGBT Community although I’m not sure that is understood or appreciated for what he did to remove DADT. Murphy was defeated by Republican nominee and former U.S. Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick as part of the Tea Party Wave that knocked 64 Democrats out of office.

      • Priya Lynn

There are no instances of transwomen assaulting genetic females in bathrooms. This is a fake concern.

        • Ryan Conrad

So the game is perform dumbness so you can avoid addressing women’s concerns? The issue isn’t whether transwomen will assault women. The problem is that women are put at greater risk when anyone can go into women’s spaces just by saying that they identify as a woman. Here in Toronto, that is what allowed a rapist to enter and roam about a women’s shelter last year and that is what got voyeurs into the women’s bathroom at a university a few months ago. Please cut the privilege kabuki act and just admit that you don’t actually care about women’s safety.

          • marti386

So basically, your argument is that trans women don’t assault women in restrooms, but we must be denied access because you cis people can’t be trusted in the restrooms long enough to do your damn business.

See, that doesn’t work for me. Because it’s not us that’s doing the crimes. It’s YOU.

STOP expecting trans women to take the fall for crimes that aren’t committed by us. STOP expecting our needs to be left unaddressed because you cis people can’t stop molesting yourselves in the restrooms. That ain’t our problem. It’s YOURS.

You want to make women safe? Fine. But from here on in, you can’t just take the lazy way out anymore, and block trans people. That’s not going to fly.

So if you’re REALLY concerned, put your thinking cap on and get cracking.

      • RaygunsGoZap

You’re confusing this with religious freedom laws where one only has to claim to believe something in order to justify harming others. Or maybe the Pledge of Allegiance – where you can just mouth the words with no real respect for liberty and justice for all.

Your arguments are smokescreens for ignorance. These laws have existed for years around the country without the people they were designed to serve and protect committing the kinds of actions bigots want to scare folks with. And there haven’t been any cases where a cisgender person oogles the opposite gender in the mens or ladies room and then argues “situational transgender” status to justify their presence in the opposite sex’s restroom.

        • Ian

Exactly, all those trans people out there spending so much money, blood, and tears to just oogle some straight christers in a locker room… THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE!

    • JB

Cool! The next time I see an effeminate looking gay guy with makeup and eyeliner, I’ll tell him he’s not a real man and should use the ladies room. Cuz transgender ideology taught me that being a man or being a woman means looking the “right way.” #ReactionaryPretends2BProgressive

  • oikos
    • Todd20036

I don’t know about the bigots, but I wouldn’t mind seeing him in my bathroom.

That is the point you were trying to make, right?

      • oikos

Bigots have no idea about anything but their own prejudices. If this man went into a women’s locker room they would be freaking out. He is pretty hot.

      • Friday

No, that’s not the point, the point was that claiming ‘birth sex’ is protecting anyone from being ‘uncomfortable’ is total BS. You seem to be the one bringing up wanting to have sex here, like the Fundies.

    • GanymedeRenard

This dude could use my bathroom any time he wants. :-)

    • popebuck1

Is it transphobic of me to be vaguely resentful that most of the transmen I see “present” as more masculine than I do?

      • oikos

I don’t know that it is transphobic at all, just normal human behavior.

      • Ginger Snap

Society has programed envy into us all so no you are not any sort of phobic just human Darling.

    • Donna

Her name is Amy. And yes, she should proudly use the women’s locker. i wonder if you would tell really butch lesbians that they should use the men’s locker because of how they look.

      • wineflask

That’s not a butch lesbian. His name is Aydian, and he’s a man. Not because he has hair on his chest or belly (some women, including some ciswomen, have them!) or because of the scars on his chest where a breast would be (ditto) but because he says he’s a man.

        • Donna

Oh, so now it doesn’t have to do with what the person looks like? Then why does Oikos post a photograph? Why do several others post photos here of the “manliest” transmen they can find and ask “Is this what you want in the women’s bathroom”?

      • oikos

His name is Aydian Dowling and no he shouldn’t use the women’s room. He is a proud trans man. pay attention.

  • Todd20036

Because so many transgendered youths are merely horny boys trying to get into the women’s locker rooms.

Meanwhile, any transgendered, even pre-op, is going to use the women’s bathroom only when she passes as a women in appearance precisely so she doesn’t cause a scene.

But really, why use logic here when dealing with bigots?

    • Ed Burrow

Very similar points to what I had made in the previous post.
Logic makes their argument fall apart.

      • Herald

Which is exactly why they stoke up the fear and leave out all rational thought.

    • Priya Lynn

“Meanwhile, any transgendered, even pre-op, is going to use the women’s bathroom only when she passes as a women in appearance precisely so she doesn’t cause a scene.”.
Exactly. When I began transitioning I continued to use the men’s bathroom until I started regularly seeing heads snap back in surprise when men would see me in there. At that point I decided I had to start using the women’s bathroom as the risk of assault in the men’s room seemed pretty high.

  • Kevin Perez

HERO is currently in effect, no? Where are all the real-life tales of women’s locker rooms being invaded by balding trans-women who don’t shave their legs?

    • Htowndude

It was suspended after the bigots (who don’t live in the city) filed a lawsuit to place the ordinance on the ballot. We (lgbt) currently have no protections in Houston Texas.

  • Sam_Handwich

i’m gonna send this to Saenz, i think it’s more effective

    • kevin vincent

Well funny they still have anything since their utter failure to stop gay marriage in Texas

    • http://facebook.com/djlorenc Stogiebear

If you could photoshop Saenz’s face onto the guy that would be even better.

EDIT: And be sure to remind him his ex-wife is STILL getting more pussy than he is.

    • noni

Guess she’s not into rim jobs.

  • pj

classy ad. tells me a lot about houston.

    • CJAS

They think it’s “already a tolerate city.”

  • Dagoril

Christ can we just convert to unisex restrooms already. Everyone in one restroom and everyone gets a stall with a door. Faux problem solved.

    • Lance Thrustwell

This!! The most pleasant bathroom I’ve ever been in had exactly this design. With a little imagination, you could design a locker room along the same lines. ‘Problem’ solved – and everyone benefits!

    • StraightGrandmother

      I wouldn’t like that.

I totally am on board with people who are transgender being able to use their appropriate bathroom or locker room.
But I like separate bathrooms for men and women. It’s probably because of my age. It is not something I think I would get used to. I would avoid using a unisex bathroom.

      • CottonBlimp

Would you feel differently if there were actually private stalls instead of the weird “voyeur’s delight” stalls that are currently standard?

  • oikos

“Houston is already a tolerant city-vote no.” I think that sums it up nicely. Kind of like the pre-civil rights era. “We like Negroes, but we just don’t want them living here.”

    • Friday

Yeah, I’m thinking that cartoon shown here is some compelling evidence otherwise. That’ll be shown like racist cartoons as how ridiculous bigotry was in a decade or two. (if not now. :) )

    • http://thegardenbear.weebly.com/ Roger Mann

Did they really say “Negroes” or a more, um, colloquial word?

      • oikos

Depends upon whether they were on camera or not.

  • Lance Thrustwell

The only thing that’s even close to a reasonable point in that disgusting ad is the argument that “Steve will lose customers.” But the point fails, because the relatively few customers (presumably women) who would actually leave “Steve’s” gym as a result of the policy would discover, to their bigoted horror, that every other gym in the vicinity had the same policy! They would either go back to “Steve’s”, or a few bigots would stop exercising and start gaining weight. They’ll die earlier, and Steve’s business will survive.

    Next argument! Next, I say!

  • Bruno

Not holding my breath on this vote. These unhinged, hysterical ads coupled with strident preachers will surely push dimwits to the polls en masse in an off-year election. Houston is showing its true colors of injustice.

    • MickinDetroit

sort of sad that the unhinged hysterical ads coupled with strident preacher histrionics doesn’t motivate anyone but the dimwits. Once in a while it’d be nice to see that penetrate the rest of the electorate’s apathy and have them show up en mass and shut this shit down in a landslide. but nah…doesn’t really affect most people, so not their fight and not worth the effort.

      • GC

Maybe we need to keep spreading this meme:

the worst part are the pathetic gay males who side with the bigots on this issue. here’s reality: gender is between the ears, not the legs.

    • GC

      …gender is between the ears…

      …and it’s a neurological fact.
Young trans kids consistently and innately identify with their gender exactly as cisgender kids do, in implicit (unconscious) associations as well as in explicit tests. The study’s authors didn’t expect that; they thought that the years of a trans girl being seen as a boy would affect her.

      http://medicalxpress.com/news/2015-01-transgender-kids-gender-identity.html

(Related: another recent study showed that it’s safe for young people to delay or block puberty with hormone treatments. “This process allows the young person to continue to explore and make sense of their identity before committing to a full transition and life as a transgender adult.” http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2014/09/16/3567886/transgender-puberty-suppression-study/

What I don’t understand about our society is when a child says they are trans or gay, they are told that there is no way they could know that, as they are to young to know. However, if a child does something terrible, murder, robbery, etc, they are most often tried as an adult, because they are old enough to know better…..

  • http://gothrykke.tumblr.com GuestStop

That poor woman, she’s pissed on the floor. Incontinence is no laughing matter, unless your laughing, then it can become a serious question of ‘am I wearing a panty liner?’. As women age, especially those that give birth, their bladders droop and the muscles weaken. Leakage becomes common.

    Act now, do your kegels!

  • Spongebob CrankyPants

I find it interesting that the concern is ALWAYS men in women’s restroom or showers.

    • Bj Lincoln

They like the idea of women in the mens room ’cause it either turns them on or they are butch enough to throw them out.

  • Bj Lincoln

We have seen all the lies and shit the bad guys are doing. What are the good guys doing to combat this?

  • Ed Burrow

Does anyone remember in Jurassic Park (the first one), all the dinosaurs were supposed to be females. Later on in the story, they found hatched eggs. Mother Nature found a way.
Same thing with the marriage battle, with this, with any advancement with civil rights. There will be opposition. There will be screams, there will be all sorts of bitching.
    We will win.

    • RoFaWh

There are parthenogenetic lizards, so to presume that a dinosaur could do the same isn’t much of a stretch.

      • Ed Burrow

Sorry for not being the smartest person in the group. I bow down.

    Clueless assholes every one…

    • RoFaWh

      What is it?

I’m convinced it’s all due to improper toilet training in infancy.

    • GanymedeRenard

Not only that. Their thoughts are bewitched, almost exclusively, by trans women – trans men are apparently, a) either too neglectful, or b) unfathomable. I’m inclined to think that they view trans women as the epitomized version of gay men, whom these bonkers abhor the most.

  • 41PC

As much as I loathe saying this, I wish Beyonce would educate herself and step out in front of this as a HERO supporter. We need all the help we can get.

    • Octavio

Not meaning to dog you, but why? Is Beyonce transgendered? (I really don’t know about these things. So pardon my lack of knowledge regarding Beyonce.)

      • Priya Lynn

Beyonce is not transgendered. However, all people who believe in justice and fairness should be supporters of this sort of legislation.

      • Circ09

Houston native. LGBT friendly. And could be a help getting people to listen to someone other than their preacher man especially in the black churches.

    • Circ09

There are a lot of bigtime actors and entertainers originally from Houston. I’m a little surprised by the lack of public support from some of them about this. I’ve wondered about this myself.

  • TheManicMechanic

It’s been my observation for quite a while that the transwomen tend to look far more elegant and ladylike than many of the stretchpant-wearing, Walmart-shopping. broads that wander in and out of there.

  • David

Conservative Christians are such a bunch of fucking perverts.

    • Todd20036

You left out racist, misogynist, gay basher, etc.

  • Raising_Rlyeh

Who knew that being protected from being fired because of your gender identity or sexual orientation was the same thing as mandating that a company hires a gay, lesbian, or transgender person.

  • GanymedeRenard

They seem to bear a meager hostility towards us, don’t they? And their campaigns aren’t terrible classy, if I may say.

On the other hand, how is equating race to “sexual conduct” different from equating race to religious conduct, given that religious people are already a protected class? I’m intrigued.

  • Circ09

How is our side’s media play? Is it weak-tea middle road crap like what was ran for Prop. 8 or is HoustonUnites coming out with some hard-hitting real stuff to combat this garbage?

  • Jack M.

Unfortunately, although the ad is paid for by bigots, it raises a real concern, since there would be no requirement that any individual submit proof that he is transgender nor would there be any way to screen someone out based on genitalia or physical appearance. Anyone could use any facility based on a “declaration” of gender and inevitably this increases the risk to women. That’s why both the YWCA in Washington and the University of Toronto recently rolled back their “gender identity” rules for bathrooms. The latter came after multiple incidents of voyeurism by men who freely accessed the women’s bathroom. You didn’t read about that on JMG. Of course, none of this bathroom crap has the slightest thing to do with gay people or with the anti-discrimination protections relating to sexual orientation. Sexual orientation and gender identity are are 2 different issues that are deliberately lumped together so that LGB equality will be held hostage to transgender demands. We will probably lose because of this trans hegemony over LGBs, just as we lost in Michigan, Anchorage, Alaska, and Salina and Hutchinson, KS.

    • Priya Lynn

Quite simply a lie. There are no instanes of transgender women assaulting genetic females in bathrooms. Transpeople and gays and lesbians are natural allies. You should be ashamed of yourself for seeking to create division where there is overwhelming mutual support. Your opposition to transpeople is a mental health issue, you need to seek help.

      • Friday

It’s also extremely stupid to think that if there is a carveout to oppress trans people that the haters won’t use that to claim they can oppress LGB people on the basis of ‘not obeying Christian gender roles.’

    • StraightGrandmother

Then we will lose. And we keep coming back again and again fighting until we win.

I think this train has left the station, no longer do gay rights organizations or the vast majority of people who are LGB support throwing Ts off the bus so that they can get ahead without them.

      • Jack M.

Thanks privileged cisgender, heterosexual woman for explaining it all to us! What would we do without you? The fact is that you don’t have a clue what LGB public opinion is on this topic, nor are you aware of the substantial T opposition to LGBT. You make sh*t up. Further, you assume your conclusion, i.e., that LGBs and Ts are naturally one, and that advocating for LGB equality is somehow a violation of the way things are meant to be. That’s a religious belief you are pushing, not a logical argument. Lastly, there’s no rational limit on your position. If it is wrong for LGBs to make progress without Ts, then why is it OK to throw sex workers off the bus? Perhaps we should insist that no gay rights bill ever pass unless it simultaneously provides non-discrimination protection for prostitutes and their customers. And polyamorists. And sex addicts. And we should demand that every gay rights bill contain a rider abolishing prison sentences for soft drugs. And providing affordable housing for all. And single payer. No gay rights bill is acceptable unless everything is addressed in full because nothing is of less importance than LGB equality.

        • noni

          really ugly.

        • KnownDonorDad

I’m going to make a confident guess that StraightGrandmother has done more for gay equality in the real world than you have. But what do I know, I’m a privileged, cisgender, heterosexual dude.

        • Homo Erectus

Your argument smacks of “Man on Dog”.

      • Lynn Treuber

dont usually comment but this is very offensive to me. u are not a lesbian and you are not from Houston so you have no f*cking right to sit there as a straight woman and tell us what is important and what we think and how we do things u say whats the big deal, we’ll keep coming back again and again but since u aint gay and u aint here its easy for u to say lets just keep it going for years. srsly f*ck urself and ur hetero arrogance we decide our fate!!

        • Friday

Frankly, if you think it’s ‘important to lesbians’ for all LGBT people to deny ourselves civil rights protections in order to hurt trans people over things you fear straight men doing but which never happen anyway…. You’ve kind of lost the plot here.

And if any actual lunatic thinks he can get away with crimes by saying ‘I felt like a woman today’ then you’ve only yourselves and the Fundies you choose to believe to blame, …cause that’ll mean someone else believed you, too.

But that’s simply not what this is.

      • Ken Trieber

I work on immigration and a few years ago I was one of maybe 3 white people in a big room of Latino activists. They argued over different versions of the law and what could get passed. I couldn’t imagine talking to them the way you are talking to these people, telling them “This is what you’re gonna do. This is what Latinos believe. The train has left the station.” Allies need to know when they have a right to speak and when to STFU.

        • StraightGrandmother

I actually didn’t reply back to any of the comments that gave me push back because I wanted to take the time and reflect and consider maybe they are right. I have taken that time but I still stand by my comment. I didn’t come up with this. I commented on what I see around me and what I see around me is that the mainstream Gay Rights organization stright and and down the line say that the train has left the station and that they will no longer throw people who are Transgender off the bus in order to advance LGB rights.

You don’t remember Chad Griffin President of the Human Rights Campaign attending Southern Comfort and offering a full throated apology to people who are transgender? I remember that.

HRC has done wrong by the transgender community in the past, and I am here to formally apologize.
I am sorry for the times when we stood apart when we should have been standing together.

But I want to say something here today. Whenever the inevitable chant about “bathrooms” begins, they’re not just attacking you, they’re attacking me, they’re attacking us. We can’t let them win. We must hold the line. We will tell the truth. Because these are our lives, and this is the moral thing to do.

          http://www.advocate.com/politics/transgender/2014/09/05/transcript-hrc-president-chad-griffin-apologizes-trans-people-speech

In some sense the criticism of me at first blush may look justified. However I only repeated what every major Gay Rights organization has stated, the train HAS left the station, no longer will they throw people who are transgender off of the bus in an effort to advance LGB rights because it is easier for them to leave trans people behind.

I do not recognize any of the commenters who left negative comments in reply to my comment, I do not recognize any of you as regular or even occasional contributors to Joe My God, I contend that my view is mainstream. And I AM a proud member of the Rainbow Alliance which includes not just sexual minorities but also straight people, of which I am one who are supporters. Maybe if you would hang around Joe My God more often you wouldn’t have taken offense? I think it is a fragile ledge to stand on when supporters voices who express the mainstream Gay Rights view is criticized for being straight when they are stating those same views.

In your example of the Latinos there appears by the way you wrote it, it was a discussion of many divergent views, in the gay rights movement today there are not many divergent views, there is the consensus (of which i repeated in my comment) and a few outliers. I don’t see the situations as being similar but I always appreciate constructive criticism nevertheless. Looking at it from a populist perspective I got up votes none of my critics did so people agreed with my views and didn’t seem to care that it was coming from a straight person.

    • JCF

      FFS, this shite again?!

  • RLK2

The Gay community’s response to this has been pathetic. No national level campaign to assist the measure allowing the bigots to control the narrative.

    • StraightGrandmother

I seem to recall that HRC is out in Houston helping.

    • Vista-Cruiser

I understand your frustration, and in most cases, I would agree. But we’re talking about Texas, where most residents are bigots and proud of it. A national level campaign would probably be money down the drain.

In my view, anyone LGBT who is really concerned about their own civil rights shouldn’t be living in Texas to begin with.

  • Time Warper

Just goes to prove they are holding us back and always have. Drop the T. Most of them are homophobes anyway.

    • Priya Lynn

That’s a lie as I’m sure you know. The vast majority of transpeople are very supportive of gays and lesbians as the vast majority of gays and lesbians are supportive of transpeople. You should be ashamed of yourself for seeking to creat division where there is overwhelming mutual support.

      • Porkie

It isn’t even just about mutual support, if we as a minority can not see the justice in the claims of another oppressed group we really need to examine our collective conscience. We haven’t got as far as we have without other people sticking their own necks out for what is right regardless of their own orientation.

        • StraightGrandmother

Absolutely porkie, absolutely. Selfish people say, “Well I’ve got mine now you can go off on your own and get yours”

Nice people say, “I’ve got mine, now who else can use a hand to get theirs?”

    • noni

Go back to DailyKos where you’ll be welcomed.

      • KnownDonorDad

Is that a thing at Daily Kos? Honest question; haven’t read it in a really long time.

        • noni

I don’t post over there anymore, however I still do peruse their diaries mainly because they seem to be quickest to note topics earlier than other site. My problem with Dailykos now is what I call the swarms. Coordinated efforts by some busybodies to swarm together to HR comments they don’t agree with. They literally call each other to come “swarm” a comment and try to get the commenter thrown off the site. They spend a lot of time tattling to the moderators and seem to get their way. The site has become like junior high. Anyway the site has it’s groups one of which trolls for transgender diaries and comments and much like “Time Warper” here, it’s a theme. Another group shuts down any and all disagreement concerning the topic of Christians. Breath anything less than adoration and you’re had. It’s a whole group of organized NALTs “we’re not all like that” busybodies. I was one of the original members of Dailykos and it was a good website for many years. Now it pretty much sucks. Sad to see the degradation.

    • MattM

If by drop the “T” you mean let trolls fall by the wayside, then I agree. People like you should be shunned and mocked as often as possible. Losers like you don’t matter.

This is almost an exact copy of the ad they ran in Anchorage Ak a few years ago when they were trying to pass the LGBT anti-discrimination law.

  • kaydenpat

These people are shameless and such liars.

  • KnownDonorDad

Let’s tune into to Jonathan Saenz’ inner monologue…

*SOB* I’ll show her! I’LL SHOW HER! *SOB*

  • Ninja0980

If people want to see why many trans people feel left out of the LGBT, some of the posts here can sadly show why.
The idea anyone can even suggest we throw Trans people overboard in our fight for equality sickens me even more then some of these ads do.

  • fuzzybits

It;s a youtube video. I’d be more concerned if it were a tv ad.

    • kevin vincent

One that failed drastically look at the comments and dislikes

  • Ginger Snap

Odd as all the teams chicks I know look like chicks not balding men with ponytails. Besides if they did wear wigs they would never be seen without it on in a public setting. I’m so tired of the hate humanity has for itself.

“Houston is a tolerant city, so let’s not bother extending that tolerance to other groups of people we think it shouldn’t extend to. Vote No on Prop 1”

  • http://parkandbark.wordpress.com/ Houndentenor

*fingers crossed* I’m hoping that most voters will see the ugliness of the bigots as what it is. They used to speak in code and try to sugar-coat their vile hatred of lbgt people. No more. Now they are just out in the open with it. My concern is turnout as the bigots are generally more likely to show up tot he polls than more progressive people, especially when it’s not a presidential race.

  • nocadrummer

I’m in Houston seeing my father, and the only ad I’ve seen so far makes it sound like Prop 1 is intended to protect jobs for veterans.

  • Luke Taylor

I hate to say it but this proposition will never pass. I live in Houston and people are way too freaked out about the bathroom issue. I think if the focus was just on equality for gays/women/vets etc. it might have a chance. Houston is not a very progressive place.
