Video Game: Condemn Kim Davis

JMG reader Andrea points us to a just-launched game for smartphones:

Fight Kim, Defeat Kim, Condemn Her. Battle against bigotry and achieve equality for all. Join us in a battle for the ages. On one side of this virtual battle field littered with shredded paper and sadness, festers Kim – an agent of civil discrimination. On the other side, the warriors of love, the soldiers of acceptance, and the army of equality. Features – Become a soldier for equality, toss marriage applications to damage Kim, bring her HP all the way down and send her to jail, build an army of supporters with each game played and increase the damage you can inflict, earn power ups to defeat Kim’s bigotry agenda, some add time to do damage, others give you a higher damage multiplier, hurl divorce papers at Kim resulting in a Critical Hit. Each Critical hit gives you extra time on the counter and 10x damage.

It looks like the game is free in the Google Play store with 50% of in-app purchases going to “LGBT charities.”

Well, I’ll be. This will certainly get Kim’s jumper in a twist.

    • Gustav2

She will jump for joy at the martyrdom, “See how the worldly world is picking on me!”

      • abel

Yes this is a bad idea even if it is funny.

  • bkmn

Watch for Kim and her buds at Liberty Counsel to sue to for a portion of the proceeds.

    • Soren456

As a publicly elected official, she will find that battle hard to win.

But Liberty Counsel is nothing if not relentless.

    • MarkOH

It’s parody. Course Liberty Counsel probably doesn’t understand that part of law either.

    • Watkikns

What are their grounds for suing for anything, especially when this absurd debacle is rooted in her intolerance and exclusion

Megan can’t get any time on the Donald’s calendar for an interview with him?

Megyn on GMA didn’t sound right:

Kentucky clerk Kim Davis will sit down for her first interview this week with none other than Fox News’ Megyn Kelly.

Davis has been battling to not have to issue marriage licenses to gay couples because of her religious beliefs. Her refusal landed her in jail before a judge ordered her release, with the understanding that she stop violating the law. But she’s still fighting and may be in violation of a judge’s order.

Fox News announced today Kelly will be speaking to Davis this Wednesday, and she’s expected to press Davis on whether she actually violated that judge’s order.

Check back on Mediaite Wednesday for full coverage of that interview.

UPDATE — 3:22 p.m. ET: On the broadcast network end, Good Morning America weekend anchorPaula Faris interviewed Davis on Monday afternoon. A portion of the conversation will air tonight at 6:30pm ET during World News Tonight with David Muir; and the full interview will air on GMA Tuesday morning.

And somehow, no matter how many meteor-worthy people are in a room, space refuses to cooperate.

In other words: “Oh look, one moronic idiot is going talk to another moronic idiot”

      Sounds about right.

  • teeveedub

How about an “Ignore Kim” option? The more attention that gets paid to her, the less superfluous she believes herself to be.

    • Watkikns

Because, they are contributing half of their resources to assist young LGBT communities; I cannot think of a demographic more deserving, yet overlooked by society.

The other game alternative is the Kim Davis bikini modeling simulator. That’s scary!

      Just in time for Halloween

The problem with this is that I now have to break a personal rule and buy something from an app store. Damn that Kim Davis!

  • Michael Senesac

Slap her with attys. fees $50,000 at a time. Make her go bankrupt and have to sell her trailer. Earn points when K-Mart discontinues her clothing line.

A spiteful beat-up-somebody-unpopular game? No thanks.

I don’t have any use for someone like her, but none of this was about her. She’s just a pothole on the road to equality, not somebody worth talking about in and of herself, let alone targeting.

If this needs to be in game form, let it be something like this: have a game where you need to build up sympathy and awareness in a community. You do this by having various members of your group that you can send around to different houses. The key is to send the right members to the right houses; you want to send people in your group as similar as possible to the people in the houses so that they see that your people are like them.

And then there’d be bigger things, like rallies and marches and, yes, confronting bigots. These would be gambles; you might be able to pull big chunks of the community with you or you might annoy and offend them. Again, picking the right time and place to make a splash would be critical.

The win state would be rallying enough support to either put it on the ballot and get it passed or else impressing a weathervane judge enough to act in your favor.

Because as viscerally satisfying as it would be to throw crap at Kim, it’d be a lot more useful to put a useful tool in people’s hands. If they’ve got time to play Farmville, they’ve got time to play Community Organizer.

Pity that my phone can’t play it presently. The resolution seems off and then I get a common, per reviews, crash. But at least it was crashing before the start of the stage.
Reviews are mostly positive about the moral content of the game rather than the game play. One reviewer did say that it’s boring after a while since it’s blandly repetitive.

Seeing the IAP store, their available purchases appear very honorable. There’s a 2$ one for killing ads and then being able to buy items at 1$ each. Hopefully there’s a way to acquire items in game so that purchases really are just for speed rather than progress.
For an issue game made during the issue is active, it is probably bog standard. The fact that it’s an app is probably its most unique point versus being flash historically.
