GLAAD today announced its participation in the second annual Bisexual Awareness Week 2015 (BiWeek) in conjunction with BiNet USA, America’s oldest advocacy organization for bisexual, pansexual, fluid, queer-identified and unlabeled people. BiWeek takes place from September 20th – 26th with the 23rd as official ‘Celebrate Bisexuality Day.’ GLAAD co-led BiWeek with BiNet USA in 2014 to raise awareness of the issues faced by the bisexual community, including visibility. BiWeek will kick off with a bisexual community policy briefing at the White House on Monday, September 21, attended by GLAAD, which will include updates from administration officials and community leaders. “Bisexual Awareness Week is a wonderful tool to increase the visibility of an often overlooked community,” said Sarah Kate Ellis, CEO and President of GLAAD. “By taking time to focus on issues that this community faces, we can further accelerate acceptance of bisexuality.”
