Breitbart: Trump Is Right To Mock Fiorina’s Face

Over at Trump World Headquarters, Breitbart columnist John Nolte says that because he is a sexist, he considers it ungentlemanly to mock the appearance of Carly Fiorina. (In the very next sentence he makes an exception for mocking Rosie O’Donnell’s looks.) But, Nolte declares, Trump is right to make fun of Carly Fiorina, because the only way to get attention from the lamestream media is to “fight like a leftist.” Which means calling ugly people ugly. He writes:

When it comes to the corrupt mainstream media and his political opponents (I think I just repeated myself), Trump’s entire campaign gameplan is to keep his opponents unbalanced, unfocused, on their back foot and on defense. And like Obama and Reid and the mainstream media, he is willing to do this by any means necessary. And yes, if Trump believes mocking an opponent’s looks will get him under her skin (a place where many campaigns are won), he’s willing to go there. Bill Clinton once said, “It’s better to be strong and wrong than right and weak.” Let me put it another way: No matter how nasty and underhanded the bully fights, nobody respects a punk. Nobody votes for punks. People respect strength. And the guy getting beat while he’s crybabying about the other guy not fighting fair is always the punk. Crybabying and moral outrage won’t change it.Fight or die. This is Thunderdome. Those afraid of their shadow need not apply.

The top rated comment on this article: “Great collumn. This is something that Andrew Breitbart was great at. Use the left’s tatics against them. Dirty politics works.”

  • And conservatives find yet another new low. Congrats.

  • Michael Smith

Because if there’s one thing I associate with the left, it’s attacking women for the way they look.

    • MacCrocodile

Have you ever read the comments here on any post about Kim Davis? It’s not our proudest moment as progressives.

      • Joe knows who I am.

        That’s totally different.

        Because it fits my narrative.

      • TampaDink

I’d never heard of Kim Davis until earlier this summer. Up until that time, I had no reason to deride her appearance or life choices. She has made a household name of herself on the national stage…which is how I’ve come to loathe her.

Theocratic fascist PIG Kim Davis should never be elevated to being labeled a woman.

She should never be elevated to being labelled human.

      • Lamb Urgini

Because there is NOW WAY to get through to these people sometimes you just have to laugh . if you can talk sense to Kim Davis or her supporters let us know .

        • Toasterlad

          Please.

Really? That’s your argument? That calling Kim Davis a fat pig or Pam Bondi a filthy skank is okay because there’s no way to change their minds about the evil they do?

          • EDinMCO

Pam Bondi is a filthy skank, by definition. But I see your point about Kim Davis.

          • Lamb Urgini

did you just call Kim Davis a fat pig and Pam Bondi a filthy skank ?

      • TominDC

Which nationally-prominent progressive made fun of her looks?

        • MacCrocodile

Well I guess as long as we’re all nobodies, it’s okay.

Although, how often does Joe remind us that our comments here are being monitored and screencapped by the right wing nutters, who delight in any case of hypocrisy or violent comments?

But no, none of us are responsible for our comments as long as we’re not “nationally prominent”.

Also, Kim Davis wasn’t nationally prominent until a few weeks ago.

      • BobSF_94117

And if we were all running for president, it would be scandalous behavior!

        But we’re not.

        • MacCrocodile

Scandalous or not, it’s still the behavior of an asshole.

          • And you’re the type of person who gives us the stereotype of being the people who get walked over.

It’s the type of behavior that leads to trigger warnings and other forms of coddling.

The activists of 50 years ago would ralph at it.

          • Toasterlad

The activists of 50 years ago would have told you that pushing for same-sex marriage was a pipe dream, and that you should stop stirring up straight people against us.

Times change. People in 2015 generally try to remember that women, while no better or worse than men, are more than their physical appearance or sexual history.

It’s nice that you’re so proud of being a misogynistic ass. The people the activists were fighting 50 years ago would love it.

      • The woman hates gays, is a screaming hypocrite in a glass house with a bag of stones and she looks like Dick Cheney in drag. You’d have to be super-human to avoid taking a progressive jab or two. We are mere mortals.

      • It may be Lookist, but I’ll never stop talking about Ted Cruz’s Urinal Cake Face!

      • The rule is, and will be:

          • As StSean said: you live by the bible, you die by the bible.

You make aspersions based on your book, I’ll fire back using the same medium.

Don’t like it? TOUGH. I’ll still be using it, and I’ll be DAMN proud to do so.

      • agcons

As much as I dislike and mistrust Fiorina, she hasn’t done what Kim Davis has done (at least not yet).

        • MacCrocodile

What does Carly Fiorina have to do to deserve attacks on her appearance?

          • agcons

I don’t know that she has to do anything specific to warrant personal appearance criticism. If she were to behave as Davis has done, I would expect Open Season to be declared, just as we did with Davis. We’ve slagged off Davis for a lot more than just her appearance.

          • MacCrocodile

And those other attacks are fine. I’m just saying it makes us look bad when the first line of attack is “LOL look at her stupid clothes!” She’s not an awful excuse for a human being because of her looks. It’s irrelevant and petty, and it contributes to the notion that a woman’s first job is to be pretty for us.

      • Toasterlad

You’re completely right, of course. Liberals, even gay liberals, are no strangers to hypocrisy. The same people that tsk-tsk over Trump’s comments on Fiorina or Megyn Kelly will turn around and post pictures of Kim Davis or Maggie Gallagher with a pig’s body, and then claim it’s okay because THEY’RE evil.

Fat and slut-shaming don’t become automatically good when WE do it. Breitbart is absolutely right that attacking people for their looks is a leftist tactic, and this blog is exhibit A. The only thing he neglected to mention is that the right wallows in such tactics, too. Which only goes to show that we, as a society, have a lot of fucking growing up to do.

      • StSean

according to the bible, she is a whore, so….

        • MacCrocodile

Well good. Wouldn’t want a woman going a few days without being reminded that everyone is judging her sexual activity or non-activity. Or desirability, or non-desirability.

          • StSean

just saying, live by the bible, die by the bible.

          • StSean

and i should say, i’m not disagreeing with your basic premise about attacking her on her looks.

however, using her own yardstick as a measurement of her behavior, she’s a whore. even paul says so.

      • I try to be mindful about personal attacks, even the joking ones about how she’s mad at the gays because they won’t do her hair. I do try to focus on the issues at hand. I have been critical about her marriages not because I disagree with divorce and remarriage but because how it directly relates to the hypocrisy her. But I have endeavored to not say anything personal about her appearance, as much of a struggle as it is. I think it makes us look petty and there are so many other things wrong here to focus on.

      • …this is exactly why we get called “milquetoasts.” RIGHT’ERE.

        Exhibit Freaking A.

Do you think we would have taken the moral high ground 40 years ago if we were in Act-Up? I fuckin’ think NOT. These fuckers don’t UNDERSTAND nuance. Some of yas are trying to act like they do. The only thing they get is when the shit is thrown right back in their face, and in THEIR parlance. Anything else, and it flies straight over ’em.

Yank your big girl’s panties up and figure it out. #TiredOfIt

        • MacCrocodile

I don’t know why you’re so desperate to hold onto the right to make fun of a woman’s appearance. Like I said before, if you’d bother to read, there is plenty to make fun of that actually has anything to do with why she’s a bad person.

She is awful, and can go fuck herself a thousand times. But you seem determined for some reason to let everyone know that you are a misogynist asshole. Congratulations, asshole.

        • MacCrocodile

More to the point, if you can be bothered, it’s not about being nice to her–she cannot be redeemed–it’s about trying to fight for LGBT dignity without sacrificing the dignity of women everywhere.

Not without throwing darts at their faces first.

  • Dot Beech

If you do a Google image search for “Carly Fiorina” you’ll find a few different faces for her. She’s had a lot of plastic surgery. It is certainly out of bounds to criticize a person’s own natural face. But if a person lays out thousands of bucks to buy a new face, maybe on several occasions, is it also out of bounds to comment on the new face?

In Fiorina’s case, she looked much better before she started cutting up her face. It’s an affirmative choice she made. Why is it beyond discussion for a presidential candidate? We consider all their other choices.

None of this is to suggest that Trump handled it well. He did not.

  • Lumpy Gaga

    Republican playbook:
    (1) Conservative does something stupid and is reprimanded by the law or publicly ridiculed.
    (2) Repackage the event making the conservative look like the victim.
    (3) Develop nifty talking points that obfuscate the issue and appeal to conservatives base convictions.
    (4) Send money.
    (5) Repeat talking points.
    (6) Talk over others who attempt to debunk the talking points.
    (7) Continue to repeat talking points until most people forget what stupid thing the conservative originally did and why they were reprimanded by the law or publicly ridiculed.
    (8) Talking points become established fact.
    (9) Claim that conservatives were always for those things that have popular support and that it was really the progressives who were against it.

Fiorina Admitted To Sheltering HP Profits Overseas

During An Appearance In Milwaukee Wisconsin, Fiorina
Admitted Keeping HP Profits Overseas Even Though It Hurt U.S.
    Economy. Discussing cash
management during her tenure at HP Carly Fiorina said, “We left billions of
dollars in cash overseas because of the differences in tax rates. And that
inability for us to bring cash back home to this market absolutely impacted our
investments in this market.” [Fiorina Remarks, Milwaukee, WI]

Things that shouldn’t matter in running for political office: looks, gender, if they are religious or not.

What we should focus on: were they fired or paid to leave jobs, did they have sexual harassment suits filed against them, do they have a well thought out plan for what they want to accomplish once they are elected.

  • Randy

Why is everything a right wingers says or does always someone else’s fault? Most of the rest of us gave up the “I’m rubber and you’re glue” argument by third grade. What is wrong with Carly Fiorina and Kim Davis, for that matter, is not how they look but what they say. Virtually none of the Presidential candidates of either party or gender is notable for appearance. However – can Donald Trump continue to say absolutely anything and have people there to defend him? The rest of the world is watching, and America is not looking good.

  • Dennis

Trump is orange and his hair is his own animal.
Ted Cruz has a punchable face.
Kim Davis, grrrl, don’t even get me started on her clothes.
Chris Christie- fat jokes for days
Lindsey Graham- faggot in the closet
I’ve seen worse from this and other forums, and that’s just from this election cycle. Yeah, I don’t know how he can pin this on the left. It’s not exclusively leftist. I think he’s wrong there.
Politicians from both sides think this, but have not said it publicly. Trump says what many of us, left and right, are thinking.
