ALABAMA: Evil Former Mother-In-Law Appeals Wrongful Death Settlement Ruling To Eleventh Circuit Court

Early this month the Southern Poverty Law Center sent out a celebratory press release after a federal court ordered that widower Paul Hard be cut a check for his share of the wrongful death suit filed on behalf of his late husband, who had been killed in a car accident shortly after their Massachusetts wedding. The settlement had been viciously fought by the Foundation For Moral Law on behalf of Hard’s former mother-in-law, Pat Fancher, who argued that since his marriage wasn’t recognized by Alabama at the time of the accident, she was entitled to all of the money.  Well, the case isn’t over yet after all because yesterday Fancher appealed the lower court’s ruling to the Eleventh Circuit Court.  When I spoke to Paul (below right) earlier this month, I told him that I hoped to never have to write about him again. I spoke too soon.
