Jonathan Saenz Has The Legal Fees Sadz

“We salute Katie Lang for holding her ground and for showing how this issue works in law; an employee asserts their First Amendment religious freedom rights and the government must seek to reasonably accommodate those beliefs, as was the case here when Lang delegated her role to another employee. This frivolous lawsuit is about intimidation and money for the LGBT machine. The same-sex ‘marriage’ license in this case was issued less than an hour after the marriage application was submitted. Claims of 150 hours of legal time are ridiculous. Hood County attorney Lori Kaspar essentially caved in to the extortion efforts of the LGBT machine. If she was unable to stand up to the LGBT machine and reject their demands for money, she should have had other attorneys get involved in the case. It is our understanding that the personal lawyers for Katie Lang, Liberty Institute, were not a part of the deal-making agreement with the LGBT lawyers. The people of Hood County should be outraged that their county attorney gave away thousands of dollars on a case that was essentially over before it started.” – Texas Values head Jonathan Saenz, via press release.

  • Dan

Can I borrow the keys to the LGBT machine this weekend? The Gay Softball tournaments are in Columbus right now and I’d like to use it to cruise the parking lots and pick up hot softball player tail.

    • no, i’m taking it to the hardware store this weekend. sorry. i need it to help pick out some paints and a couple of toilet replacement parts.

      • Gustav2

I need a 5 gallons of beige paint/primer, starting the re-paint on the interior. I already have the ceiling white, so don’t bother with that.

        • Reality.Bites

Don’t ask him how he got the ceiling white, whatever you do.

          • B Snow

I just assumed he had the brushes attached to his feet.

          • Reality.Bites

As the old saying goes, man of steel, heels of helium.

      • SockMikey

        Dang,

If I knew you were taking requests, I would’ve had ya pick up that ink cartridge for my printer while ya were about.

      • Reality.Bites

Not really related, but I just saw this photo someone posted of a dog at Home Depot.

Only if you promise not to bend it.

  • Gustav2

” It is our understanding that the personal lawyers for Katie Lang, Liberty Institute, were not a part of the deal-making agreement with the LGBT lawyers.”

Why would you be? This is not about you. This is about government treatment of a citizen, not what a clerk thinks. And Liberty/Katie Lang is not paying the bill.

  • Michael

Sounds like he’s mad ‘coz anti-gay “Christian” Lang (and Homophobia, Inc.) wasn’t able to legally redefine discrimination as a “religious belief.” Talk about “frivolous!”

  • Baltimatt

And your wife still left you for a woman!

    • StraightGrandmother

Ha-Ha-Ha, thanks for the reminder, I had forgotten about that.

    • Larry Gist

I thought that name sounded familiar…

    • Sk3ptic

I think this should be the default reply to this man for ANY statement he makes.

      • Baltimatt

Yes, I’ve made that comment before.

    • Todd20036

Frankly I think his wife left him because he’s batshit crazy. The lesbian thing, is just the icing on the gay wedding cake.

      • Reality.Bites

I wouldn’t mind it if she issued a statement that, “Yes, I married him knowing that I’m a lesbian, but I figured he was the next best thing to a woman compared to every other man I’d ever met.”

    • Steverino

He’s just another grifting pipsqueek who has to act out his own little personal drama on the rest of us.

  • Gustav2

According to Austin attorney Jan Soifer, who also represented the couple, the Hood County Commissioners agreed to settle the suit “to save [Lang] from dealing with the additional expense and significant financial exposure her actions caused the taxpayers of her county.”

So asshole, Hood County Commissioners covered her ass, because Liberty runs when they lose and there are fines/costs.

    http://thescoopblog.dallasnews.com/2015/08/hood-county-clerks-refusal-to-issue-same-sex-marriage-license-cost-taxpayers-43000.html/

    • BobSF_94117

I wonder if they have to 1099 her.

  • Mike in Texas

Stop lying, Jonathan. The license was not issued until after the lawsuit had been filed on July 6. The couple had requested it a number of times during the days between June 26 and July 6. If bigots like you and Katie Lang would stop trying to place yourselves above the law, there would be no lawsuits. So accept the consequences of your behavior and stop trying to blame others. You brought this on yourselves. .

    • b

These groups perform political — not legal — stunts, using clerks as puppets. Obey your puppet master, Lang. Let them lie to you about a valid First Amendment issue. There is no First Amendment issue. Issuing a license in your official capacity is not speech. But there will be some clerk willing to let the politicos dance them up to the Supreme Court for another loss at their expense.

      • david fairfield

Well said and correct. So many people are behind this as a first amendment issue. They feel that as long as they say it loud enough and hundreds of times that others will follow. Can’t wait for the Kim Davis smack down!

    • Herald

      1) Lying is all they have, therefore in the future expect nothing but lies and distortions from them.
      2) They believe they are on a holy crusade so they believe the law really does not apply to them. Law is a hammer to hit us with in their minds.
      3) They never, ever accept responsibility for their words and deeds!
      4) I no longer wonder why Saenz’s wife left him.
      5) Somehow they keep trusting Liberty and ADF to do a competent job. That really tells you all you need to know about them and one reason they keep losing.

      • HadenoughBS

Yes, lying is what they do on a constant basis. It’s a means to grow their supposedly Chistianist grifting empire.

However, in John 8:44, Jesus referred to the devil as the “father of lies”. Since Saenz and so many others on the homophobic far right carry out their father’s desires to lie in order to tempt more donations from unsuspecting but like-minded homophobes, Saenz and ilk, in fact, must be Satanists and NOT Christians as they profess to be. They’re evil through and through – in thought, deed and action.

        • Herald

So they are deep undercover satanists infiltrating and sabotaging the church, got it. They really are awful aren’t they.

I love that you have a Jesus quote in that to make your point!

          • HadenoughBS

LOL, you got it, Herald. And, yes, they’re so free throwing the name of their Jesus in our collective faces, I thought it only the “Christian” thing to do to remind Saenz et al just how He sees their griftiness efforts as the work of the devil himself! 😈

        • Steverino

          Indeed, they are imposters.

    • sonoitabear

      “Stop lying, Jonathan.”

He can’t; Jeebus commanded him to lie…

    • IamM

Funny that Lang wasn’t willing to take that easy accommodation of letting others in her office issue the license until she was, rightly, sued.

Yes. I wonder if there’s a bigger version. I’m getting eye strain.

Yes. And welcome to the club.

Yup, but I ain’t tellin’ nobuddy hows I wupped up that thar tornado in Illinois on Tuesday. Tee-Hee. Had Porno-Pees-His-Pants and S.S. Lively shittin’ bricks.

Yes, but you have to use enough good tequila, or it won’t work.

On sale now at Target, pronounced tar-jay.

  • Marc

I see. This lawsuit is “frivolous” because the couple went to a different county to get a marriage license, but the one in Kentucky is “frivolous” because the couple didn’t. Gay Voltron does not approve.

    • KarenAtFOH

It’s frivolous whenever we assert our rights. Because we’re abominations, and all that.

      • People4Humanity
      • Stop Frivelling Me

Definition of ‘frivolous’: Exposing ‘christian’ hypocrisy, and thereby exposing ‘christianity’ as fraud.

Anytime you hear a cuckolded x-tian like Saenz using the word ‘frivolous’, remember what it really means.

Still waiting to hear of the discovery of Saenz’s Ashley Madison account, but wouldn’t be at all surprised to learn of his rejection for membership due to excessive whining and general inadequacy.

        • David Walker

Are you saying he doesn’t “measure up”?

      • Marc

How silly of us. Demanding equal rights AND then having the nerve to be expected to exercise them!

    • Todd20036

I always wondered about the lion Voltron.

  • just sayin

He’s just pissy because his wife left him for a woman. He will never be able to get over that fact

    • Reality.Bites

      Neither will we!

  • I was hoping to wake up this morning to news that Jim Bob Duggar’s account on Ashley Madison had been found instead of this titty baby whingeing from Jonathan Saenz. Oh well, it’s a start, but you’re a poor substitute Jonathan. A very poor substitute.

    • Sam_Handwich

No need for Jim Bob to mess around – Michelle just had her vadge retreaded again.

      • barrixines

So now where are they going to store the tuba?

        • D. J.

          And the bus?

      • SockMikey

Ya can only do that so many times then there’s not enough rubber left to retread…. I think she reached her limit a while back.

        Don’t Re-Tread on Me! – M. Duggar

        • Menergy

Yeah, I keep seeing lots of her retread rubber debris along the highways, having to dodge it all the time. She should be more respectful of others and at least pick up the shards/shreds as a public safety measure….

  • bambinoitaliano

Yes, frivolous, petty and small minded that somes up the jesus freaks. How else do you make entitled bigots understand the law of the land?

  • sw42

There’s an LGBT machine? Can it make s’mores?

    • LonelyLiberal

Yes, but it mostly makes gingerbread men. Who then marry other gingerbread men.

      • Talisman

        Abominations!

Next thing you know, they’ll be marrying animal crackers.

  • Mark

ehhhhh. fuck off ya little inadequate freak.

  • StraightGrandmother

I went on this county website and watched the video of the County Counsel Meetings (in Hood County Texas it is called the County Court meetings). I listened to two of them in July (after the Obergefell decision) and one in August.
OMG the first one I listened to was a three hour meeting on removing two books from the Public Library, “Princess Boy” and another one for children about a gay pride parade, I forget the exact name.

All of the 4 Counsel members plus the county Judge ALL said that they thought the books were disgusting however their attorney said they can’t remove them so they support the Library Board who voted for not removing the books. I listened hoping to hear them discuss the court case of the county clerk. They did not discuss it publicly but said, “We will now go into closed session to discuss legal proceedings, with counsel and outside counsel” So basically I listened to a 3 hour anti gay rant (there were some on our side) in just one video, I listened for nothing. I wanted to hear the discussion about approving payment fr the Plaintiffs attorneys and I never did hear it.

    • fuow

Your patience is one reason we have won as much as we have.
      Thank you.

    • BobSF_94117

You should consider sending them a bill for your time, just to annoy them.

  • lymis

    Here’s a tip, Jonathan.
After years of litigation and a Supreme Court ruling, it’s time to drop the scare quotes around the word “marriage,” especially when you are trying to explain how you’re not discriminating.

    • Putting scare quotes around the word marriage because you don’t
agree would be like putting scare quotes around the word president if you didn’t like who won the election. Not liking something doesn’t change reality and yet these people are unwilling to even center their conversation around the reality of the situation.

    • LarryChemEngr

Let’s put scare quotes around the word, Christian.

      • chrisinphx

I always do, and never capitalize the c.

When couples meet all the LEGAL requirements for a license, HAND IT OVER.

(Your wife still left you for a woman, you vindictive asshole.)

  • Don’t want further pay-outs over gay marriage cases then don’t continue fighting same-sex marriage, it’s that simple. Trying to weasel around the law or not comply is going to get smacked down and result in further costs.

  • LovesIrony

    bigot tears are sweet

    • Jean-Marc in Canada

      ….and ever so delicious.

  • Paul Forsyth

“The same-sex ‘marriage’ license in this case was issued less than an hour after the marriage application was submitted. Claims of 150 hours of legal time are ridiculous.”

Um correct me if I’m wrong but is that not perjury and should be easy to prove in this case and would be punishable by law, no? Why is no one pressing charges if the “lgbt Machine” was in fact lying and “extorting” money from these poor innocent people?

    • SFBruce

Sadly, this joker wasn’t under oath, so it wasn’t perjury, but it certainly qualifies as a bald face lie. Stapleton and Cato were turned away first of all on June 29th, when they were told it would take at least 3 weeks for the right forms to be available, something that didn’t deter countless other localities across the country, including Texas. When they returned 2 and a half weeks later with forms they’d downloaded from the internet, they weren’t issued a license because they wouldn’t say who was the husband and who was the wife. Lang even had the nerve to call the Sheriff’s office, and that’s why they filed a lawsuit.

So no, they most decidedly weren’t issued a marriage license within one hour of applying, they only did it because they were sued. The county got off easy with only a 44,000 settlement. To malign Stapleton and Cato (who look like real Texas, I should say) after all they’ve been through is disgusting.

  • goofy_joe

Oh that pesky first line of the first Amd. “prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion”. They always forget that one, don’t they?

We are NOT a theocrasy. If that’s what you want, you’re in the wrong country. If you work for the Government of the people, then you must serve the people. If a racist mail-carrier were to refuse to deliver mail to a black citizen, they would be fired. Plain and simple.

  • KnownDonorDad

Hey, it’s been a while since we’ve heard from you, Jonathan – how’s the wife?

  • WTF is that “holding her ground” phrase for? Are these people now proud of their heritage of shooting people they don’t like?

  • LarryChemEngr

    Wahhhh! Change my diaper!

  • Michael Hampton

You should get out of the kitchen if you can’t take the heat. Honey, you knew you were going to lose and the way our court system works, if you lose, you pay. No extortion. No intimidation. You lost. You pay.

  • Ninja0980

As others have stated, Jon is a lying POS.
The clerk in question didn’t take the steps he mentioned until she was sued and was told by real lawyers that she had no case.
Then and only did her office issue licenses.

  • Eric in Oakland

“The people of Hood County should be outraged that their county attorney gave away thousands of dollars on a case that was essentially over before it started.”

They should be outraged at Katie Lang for abusing her office and wasting tax payer resources to defend her blatant civil rights violations.

  • DaveMiller135

Don’t do the crime, if you don’t have the dime.

  • JoeNCA

Isn’t a “frivolous” lawsuit by definition one that is not likely to succeed? Since it did succeed, isn’t it by definition not “frivolous”?
