As US Army sergeant in Colorado Springs has been charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing death of a man he met on Grindr. The Colorado Springs Gazette reports:
Fernando Rosales, 23, told police he stabbed Sean Crescentini, 30, when he became aggressive early Saturday morning. Rosales was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder. Rosales told police he connected with Crescentini more than a month ago on Grindr, but they had not met in person nor spoken. Friday night, Rosales texted Crescentini and told him to meet at his house on Prescott Circle West while he was at a bar. A friend drove Rosales home because he was too intoxicated to drive, he told police according to his arrest affidavit. Crescentini arrived at his home and began performing oral sex on him while “saying things to demean him,” Rosales told police. When he started to get dressed, Crescentini allegedly lunged at Rosales “trying to intimidate him.” Rosales asked Siri, the iPhone assistant, to call 911, but the call didn’t go through. Crescentini allegedly punched Rosales twice in the face after Rosales told him he wanted to give his license plate to police. Rosales then grabbed a knife from the block in the kitchen, waving it at Crescentini hoping he would leave. He stabbed him once when Crescentini continued to stand there, smiling at him, he told police.
Rosales is free on $50,000 bond and is due in court on August 30th. (Tipped by JMG reader Dennis)
