      They are a huge embarrassment.

        You mean yoooge embarrassment, right?

Oh, I LOVE his candidates! They make so proud to be a democrat.

      • FAEN

        Right?

      • Sporkfighter

Not really. That’s like being proud you don’t shit on the table at Denny’s during Tuesday night “Kids eat free”.

      Is that Chuck Schumer?

  • Paula

What a wuss! Evidently he can’t face the nation.

    • bambinoitaliano

Apparently no one told him his ugly ass of a party is plastered all over the media in the world for all to see. We just do not want this to end. Even George R R Martin is getting impatience for the next episode.

I certainly wouldn’t want to Face the Nation after the debate fiasco. Can’t really blame him.

    • BudClark

I’m surprised they have the cojones to face the nation after two terms of Shrubbery Skull-Duggary and what they’ve inflicted upon PRESIDENT Obama the last six years..

      • bambinoitaliano

I wish we have a camera following Obama while all these is taking place.

      • David L. Caster

Well, do keep in mind that the media (other than Faux News which capitalized on it) missed the boat when it came time to expose the real damage the GOP was inflicting on the country. They didn’t dare look like they were favoring one party or the other, even though everything that was going on was a dead giveaway that the GOP was sacking the country in the name of political gain and entrenching an oligarchy.

        • How can they? The entire US media was complicit in the fake wmd stories to justify the Iraq invasion. If you weren’t readying foreign newspapers, you would have no idea that there were serious doubts about a lot of the “evidence”. No one has every really been held accountable for any of that either. And the “liberal” NY Times was the worst offender in that regard.

          • David L. Caster

I believe that the NYT was, quite literally, too close to the problem.

          • i don’t even know what that means.

they were lying whores looking to help a bunch of criminal warmongers ‘make a case’ for a pointless trillion dollar fiasco. they were soulless suckups looking for more access to elite social opportunities. shameless fabulists who sought to destroy the reputations and abilities of those who opposed war of choice.

i don’t know why any decent person still reads the Old Gray Whore, these days. the war isn’t the only thing they lied about. not by a long shot.

          • David Walker

If someone’s looking for a doctoral thesis, maybe s/he could trace the downfall of press credibility from Watergate to Bush I.

          • David Walker

Right, Houndentenor, and what did they learn? How did they change their approach to to independent research? The “free” US press is a thing of the past. It’s not I got my news from “The Daily Show,” but it’s where I got my commentary on the news. “If you smell bullshit, investigate,” to paraphrase Jon’s charge to us.

      • canoebum

You have to have narcissistic personality disorder to be a member of the GOP cabal, elected or appointed. These people don’t possess a conscience in the way normal people do. No conscience, no shame. Why not go on tv?

  • Cuberly

So tomorrow, when Pubis meets with all the huffy ignored candidates, do they schedule the meetings by the order in which they’re polling?

    • Six Pins Delores

      Of course.

    • Christopher

Or in the manner that they were systematically ignored?

    • TampaDink

Yes….and that means he’ll get around to meeting with some of them on Thursday. Thursday December 17th. Maybe.

      • Cuberly

        Ah, Rand Paul. (lol)

  • Secure

Maybe it’s time for Joe to change the tag to “infighting is hilarious!”

    • BudClark

      • Six Pins Delores

Envy your stance…very much. Must consider the future U.S. for my niece and nephew.

      • GayOldLady

Oh c’mon Bud, you at least have to watch the debates so you can see why voting a “straight Democratic” ticket is such a marvelous decision.

      • Joe in PA

you are such a liar Bud! You will be slugging it out right here with the rest of us…and you will love it. πŸ™‚ (but wouldn’t you love to do just that…ignore the entire puerile, ugly mess?) !!

The only one of their candidates who even tried that was consistently referred by only first name and repeatedly shown to have no audience (where Fox News allowed no audience).

      • TampaDink

At least she wore heels & didn’t have to stand on a riser like poor lil ole LindseyBelle….a riser that they made sure to include in every camera shot of the little guy. It was odd/rude how Carly was the only one who the moderators seem to have been on a first name basis with.

I have this gut feeling that he’s going to resign. • GayOldLady

So in Prance’s world it’s “I can’t face the Nation”? Other than the GOP is the laughing stock of the entire Planet, I wonder why he’s so terrified to face a National audience? Cowardly little twit.

  • Desmond Rutherford

Is it possible that the whole Trump-Fox debate is a decoy to the selection of really dangerous right-wing conservative as the candidate? Probably not, but you have to admit it would explain why they are playing musical chairs without the music (or the chairs.)

    • popebuck1

That’s what I’m worried about. Scott Walker is the Kochs’ choice, and he successfully flew under the radar for that first debate. I’m worried he will be able to step in once Trump self-destructs and sell himself as the “sensible, moderate” candidate, despite being anything but.

      • I don’t think it’s intentional but Trump does seem to be distracting from how far right Walker actually is. He’s for banning abortion even to save the life of the woman. Anyone talking about that? No, it’s all Trump all the time.

        • Six Pins Delores

“No, it’s all Trump all the time.”
That is how gawd intended things to be. Have to admit that I can adjust to that more easily than being led by someone with an invisible being whispering suggestions to someone who is more than likely an egotistical asshole.

          • Chucktech

That really is refreshing, isn’t it, 6PD? A republican candidate who doesn’t have jesus springing forth from his lips constantly!

Hell, I’d bet that Repubs are AFRAID to ask Trump about his religious convictions. They’re afraid he’d say gawd is total bullshit, a loser, and Trump would fire Him.

          • Six Pins Delores

“They’re afraid he’d say gawd is total bullshit, a loser, and Trump would fire Him.”

I think that the abortion question probably haunts Frothy Mix more than he will ever let on. πŸ˜‰

          • BudClark

We’ve been “doing” the abortion argument for forty years, and the gay rights issue since well BEFORE 1969.

Isn’t ANYBODY ready to move into the 21st century and GOVERN???

Regarding BOTH issues, the Republic has survived; “god” hasn’t struck anyone dead; the Stock Market is still going up, etc. etc. etc.

What lands in my hand when I wank is no more a person than an undifferentiated blob cells from a woman.

          • TampaDink

I could not agree more, Bud.

      • Christopher

Thanks for that! My nightmares will be in full force tonight with that thought.

      • TampaDink

I understand your concerns but I don’t think that Walker will never be confronted with his views when/if he becomes the GOP nominee. He (or whoever it will be) will eventually have to face Hillary…or whoever the Democratic nominee is, I feel confident that his views will not go unchecked.

        • Christopher

      • Desmond Rutherford

It’s not my list. I don’t have access to a list, but the Repubs might, ask them.

        • TampaDink

I was only asking in case there is some specific evil force(s) within their “party” that you had in mind. I think that, for the most part, they are all evil….and they should only be allowed to use the word “party” in the same vein as “the Donner Party”.

          • Desmond Rutherford

            Evil is the right word.

          • TampaDink

Sometimes I think that evil might be too understated.

More than likely BLM wasn’t invited to or included in the event. They already feel dissed by Sanders because he was unprepared to talk with them about “black lives matter” at Netroots. ALL Candidates MUST include BLM as part of their Campaign events because this is an important movement that matters to their base, whether they realize it or not.

      • Max_1

What I don’t get is why attack the campaign of the man who’s been in your camp all the time?

These types of disruptions should be expected at GOP events… It does not make sense. There is more behind this than meets the eye.

        • Six Pins Delores

          They earned EVERY penny! πŸ™‚

        • GayOldLady

Actually Bernie has been a bit lackluster when it comes to talking about racial issues. He’s a big picture guy that sort of lumps it all in there together under the social justice banner. Plus, he lives in a State where he’s not had an AA constituency so he’s not as fine tuned to the issues. He probably need to solicit some good advice about how to bring BLM into the fold and to address their issues, specifically during his campaign stops. Bernie went to the MLK March on Washington, so he has an excellent resume on racial equality and racial justice. He’ll figure it out

          • Six Pins Delores

            WOW! Very encouraging!

          • GayOldLady

Bernie’s a great campaigner. He’ll solve this issue quickly.

          • Six Pins Delores

            He should. πŸ™‚

          • GayOldLady

Hey they did this to a large group of Black leaders, one of which was John Lewis, at a protest event in Washington. They are going to get their message across , the way they want it delivered.
They also shut down Martin O’Malley at the Netroots convention. They have something to say and they’re going to say it. The candidates would be wise to bring them on board at these campaign events.

          • Six Pins Delores

Hey they are providing a greater good for the general public with what they have to say. πŸ™‚

          • Max_1

Please listen to the man in the straw hat with the mic. in the video. He relented and asked them to wait their turn… they were the ones that said “NO”.

related: http://www.usnews.com/news/politics/articles/2015/08/08/black-lives-matter-activists-disrupt-bernie-sanders-speech“>Bernie had a scheduled stop in Seattle at 6pm.

continued: This rally was a rally commemorating the anniversary of Social Security and Medicare. Maybe the BLM should have addressed their requests to the retired people’s organizations that hosted this event. They crashed this rally because Bernie was an invited guest at this event. He did not have to speak, so he did not. Instead, he knew over 12K people would be waiting for him elsewhere in the city as HIS guests (see related)…

          • GayOldLady

I understand your point completely. My point is not to defend their methods, but to support their message. They are young and they are taking their message to power. Bernie is power in their view. I know that Bernie is trying to incorporate their message into his campaign speeches. Hopefully as all of our candidates campaign across this country they can weave these messages and the young people who carry these messages into their campaigns.

          • Max_1

            Thus a quandary:
How can a man be heard when people refuse to listen/let him speak? Essentially what these people did.

        • Librarykid

why attack the campaign of the man who’s been in your camp all the time? Two words: stupidity and arrogance. “You can’t talk about anything if you don’t talk about what’s important to me.”

          • Piet

A third word: childish. It’s childish to need everyone’s attention in only the way you need it and to throw tantrums and disrupt everybody else’s life if you don’t get things exactly and only your way. Every time something like this happens, the people involved demonstrate very clearly just how immature they are and how unready, actually, to engage in the national dialogue. The event was to mark the anniversary of Social Security and mark the expansion of it and related programs to include, specifically, people of color. Bernie’s spoken about Black Lives Matter before, and he will again — this event was not about that.

      • Yup, piss on your own. THAT is a smart way of doing things.

Way to shove people away (like myself) who get turned off to this sorta chicanery really fast. A Latino trans* group did this same damn thing at the Creating Change conference a few months ago. It was just as disrespectful.

If a right-wing Christianist did this type of disruption, we’d be jumping his shit in a HEARTBEAT and we all know it.

        • Piet

The account over at SLOG makes it pretty clear that the crowd only listened to them because it was the only way to get them to stop disrupting the event. The event itself was a celebration of Social Security and Medicare, and these two women turned it into a sideshow. Young, entitled, disrespectful, rude, and entirely misguided — they didn’t inspire the crowd and since they specifically targeted Sanders for not handling the Black Lives Matter disruption at NetRoots the way they thought he should, they’re skating close to losing an ally in Congress. That’s real smart.

          • Yup, saw that on Dan’s Twitter. Pathetic. After the bitchfight I’ve had about Ohio State in the past three hours, this has put me in a *wonderful* mood. #Grumpy

          • Six Pins Delores

“– they didn’t inspire the crowd and since they specifically targeted Sanders for not handling the Black Lives Matter disruption at NetRoots the way they thought he should, they’re skating close to losing an ally in Congress. That’s real smart.”
            Also they are OBNOXIOUS DOUCHEBAGS…

    • Mark

      Stupid, ignorant, arrogant, selfish.

I get it that we have some police vs race issues – but there isn’t anything stopping ignorant bitches like those two from getting their own mic and their own stage and scream all they want. With all the fucking crazies in the world – I simply would have – from a safety viewpoint – turned the equipment off, removed the mic…and walked away. They could then ‘speak’ all they wanted – but I’ll bet 10 bucks they wanted to ‘rant’. Problem is, they don’t know the difference.

I’m nearing my limit on this BLM stuff. ALL lives matter – and to place ANY group above another is simply absurd. Do we have racial problems? Gender problems? Preference problems? Hell yes – but the Kanye-way just makes it rude and laughable.

  • popebuck1

A Republican party official running away from the Sunday morning talk shows?!

    Now I’ve seen everything!

    • Max_1

      Try this:
The top Party winner of the first GOP debate hosted by FOXNews(R), the bastion of the GOP opinions, idea, and Party issues, NOT being invited on Sunday…

      • Max_1

        edit:
… Especially trying, seeing ratings it drew.

        • Cuberly

          ClusterFox?

        • Chucktech

Wonder how stratospheric their ratings for this shit show would have been had Trump not been in the running?

Fox News: “Thanks, the Donald, for for the astronomical ratings for a political debate that the vast majority of Americans really gives 2 shits about, now you’re going to have to pipe down for a while till the heat blows over.”

    • Cuberly

Don’t worry, John McCain camps out in the studio cafeteria over the weekends in case someone cancels.

      • roadtripboy

It will be race between McCain and Graham to see who can get to the set first.

      • PLAINTOM

Please give McCain the spot. please.

        • Cuberly

          Ha!

“So Sen McCain, great to see you again. So the current leader, by a large margin mind you, in the GOP polls, claimed one of the debate moderators was unfair and, “on the rag”, your thoughts?”

Prebus soooooo did not want to field that question.

  • Max_1

Another funny and amusing aspect of Thursday’s ‘debate’ that often is being overlooked is how T-Rump admonished many he shared the stage with for accepting campaign donations in former campaigns of theirs he donated too… All the while the one guy who never got any of T-Rump’s money actually begged him then, and there. No ball gag required!

    • DumbHairyApe

I thought it was interesting that they accused Trump of buying off politicians, all but admitting they were all part of the oligarchy bribery circuit.

    • TampaDink

I admit to not having watched the debate. Which of the other clowns is it that has never gone to Trump for money?

      • Max_1
        • TampaDink

Thanks for the link, Max. I watched & although I did clearly HEAR one of the others state that Donnie hasn’t donated to him, the camera didn’t go to who was speaking. My best guess, based on the accent is Perry. If I’m wrong…please educate me. Thanks. ☺

          • Max_1

They were thike whores at a trough…
            … Oops, a horse at a trough.

            Thirsty for daddy’s money…

Honestly Tampa, It sounded like a few of them.

          • TampaDink

            Whores/horse. Tomayto/tomahto.

        • Now I really feel dumb not knowing about my own Gov! >_<

      • I think Perry?

        • TampaDink

That’s what it sounds like in the clip that Max provided below.

          • I only say it because I was talking with the ‘countrified’ liberal friend last night and I think his name was mentioned in that concept.

  • Kissmagrits

Rancid Proboscis, GOP Chairman, can’t take the post-debate heat? That’s odd. He’s usually combative as hell.

  • Puckfair52

He needs to step down he has no control over the center ring and the geek already bit the head off a news anchor!
Heres a little chalk drawing that I saw in Washington Square today!

    • Repubs not figuring out their center rings is nothing new.

  • Christophe

    Incompetent leadership, unfit governance.

  • FAEN

LOL-even he doesn’t even want to try and defend his candidates.

  • FAEN

Dear republicans, you brought this on yourselves. When you court racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynists who pride themselves on ignorance what did you expect was going to happen?

Did you honestly believe you would be able to control the monster? Boy are you guys naive or what.

    • Hue-Man

+ xenophobic. Zero immigration isn’t just racist.

      • FAEN

Thank you! I meant to include that as well.

        • Six Pins Delores

          Likely, ready your device anyway!

          • FAEN

I’m always ready when it comes to teabagger republicans, as I am with zombies lol. Not much of a difference.

    RNC BS

    • Stev84

RNC PR BS to be precise if you remove all vowels from his name.

  • I can’t believe there hasn’t been more fallout over Walker reaffirming that he’s not even for abortion to save the life of the pregnant woman.

    • Max_1

He prefers the ‘kill two birds with one stone’ approach…

    • TampaDink

Moms lives don’t matter. (to Walker & his ilk)

    • skeptical_inquirer

I honestly think that they think Jesus will NEVER put them in that position until it actually happens. I only wish their short-sightedness only affected them. I’m reminded of a study where children who could wait for two marshmallows a few minutes later other than one now were the ones who were successful later on in life. I believe we’re dealing with a “one marshmallow” crowd.

      • Yes, but at the same time they claim they’re being “persecuted.” Of course persecution to fundamentalists means not being allowed to persecute others.

    • BudClark

I think HUMAN people (as opposed to Rethugbuttuglican’ts) are SO appalled that they don’t know WHAT to say.

      • Chucktech

I’m sure they are positively thunderstruck…

  • TampaDink

I’m wondering if Rancid is in such a state after these last few days that he is afraid to appear on television & NOT sound drunk.

    • UrsusArctos

That never stops House Majority Leader Oompa Loompa Boehner.

      • FAEN

In John Of Orange’s defense-would you want to be sober dealing with the teabaggers? If I were him I’d be in a permanent state of drunkenness lol.

      • MDB

Actually Kevin McCarthy is the Majority Leader of the House; “Boner” is the Speaker of the House.

    • FAEN

If he didn’t sound drunk I would think there was something wrong with him.

      • TampaDink

I’m in no position to begrudge or bash anyone who drinks….but if I had a high profile position & sounded like he does, I’d damn sure want everyone to know that I’m recovering from a stroke OR how much I drank for breakfast.

    • He’s trying to come up with a solution to The Donald without, you know, actually doing something.

      • TampaDink

“Without actually doing something” is the phrase that I’d use to best describe his tenure.

        • Seriously! I’ve seen like 6 interviews from him, most denouncing things he didn’t like, scolding people because he’s a tool like that, and how long has he been the chairmoron? At least Michael Steel was out there every friggen day. If there was a camera, he was popping up like they called his name at The Price is Right. Not saying I liked him, but at least he was leading, as much as they would let him. This is the GOP after all.

          • TampaDink

My secret girlfriend (Rachel Maddow) seems to have Steele as a guest often enough that they seem to be friends, for some reason he always reminds me of a Muppet.

  • Blake Jordan

Too bad none of this gets Congress, particularly the House, out of the control of the rethuglicans.
So we might be assured a D POTUS for another 4 (8) years, but a R congress still Fs things up.

    • FAEN

Yep-elections matter, which is why we should ALWAYS vote no matter if it’s for School Board or POTUS.

      • anne marie in philly

        RAMEN, bro!

    • FAEN

The earliest we can get the House back is 2020. That’s just depressing as hell.

  • geoffalnutt

Har, har, har!!! The GOP is imploding! Couldn’t happen to a nastier group of creatures. Orcs…all of them!

Reince Priebus sounds like an Addams Family cousin

    • Max_1

It sounds more like a congenital disorder…
… Did I just say genital?

    • TampaDink

Cousin ITT, as he recovered from a severe stroke.

    • Stev84

If you disenvowel him you get “RNC PR BS”

      • TampaDink

I’ve read & used the comments deleting the vowels from his name but I’d never heard/read and absolutely love the word disenvowel.

  • Roy Biv

Reince signed the pact with the other Devil (the other being the GOP) to use Fox News as the Kingmaker of the GOP, and now that Conservatives supporting Trump are now attacking Fox for being so obviously anti-Trump, he’s well, LOL.

  • Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t know this crap was still on, let alone people were watching it. Last I heard, this was a forum for the ignorant to blather on their lies and I blocked the channel.

    • no one watches except for people in the Village and old white men in nursing homes. but that doesn’t matter on corporate owned TV. these shows are “important.” because they say so.

  • justmeeeee

Just go ahead and quit, Reince, while the weather’s still nice enough for you to enjoy your vacation. Look into the future and see that quitting will eventually be your only option and just go ahead and do it. Too bad, so sad, move on.

Jason Ball, the first openly gay Australian rules player, has
announced he will stand against Liberal frontbencher Kelly O’Dwyer in the federal seat of Higgins.

The Yarra Glen footballer will run against O’Dwyer as the Greens candidate in the Melbourne seat, previously held by former Howard government treasurer Peter Costello.

The Greens leader, Richard Di Natale, has warned Ball will give the safe Liberal seat a β€œgood shake” at the next federal election.

β€œIf we don’t get over the line this time around, beware the next election,” Di Natale told ABC’s Insiders program on Sunday.

The announcement comes days after Labor
selected gay rights advocate Carl Katter, the gay half-brother of independent MP Bob Katter, as its candidate for Higgins at the next election.

Good. More opportunity to throw the current government out.
