Bobbi Kristina Brown Dies At Age 22

Via Entertainment Tonight:

Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of late music legend Whitney Houston and R&B singer Bobby Brown, died on July 26, surrounded by her family, at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia. She was 22. “She is finally at peace in the arms of God,” the Houston family said in statement to ET. “We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.” On Jan. 31, Bobbi Kristina was found unresponsive in her bathtub, and was then taken to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia, where she was put on a ventilator to assist her breathing. She was later placed in a medically induced coma at Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital. Nearly two months later, she was moved to a rehabilitation center, where she remained until June 24, when she was moved to the hospice center.

Sad, simply sad – Rest in Peace Bobbi Kristina

  • Corina Jamison

Rest in Peace, Bobbi Kristina. I hope everyone here has end-of-life plans prepared.

    • DaddyRay

I don’t know of any 22 year old who has end-of-life planning anywhere on their radar

  • Sashineb

Sorry to read of this. I saw an interview with Cissy a week ago, and things had gotten worse for Bobbi. Rest in peace, Bobbi.

  • MikeBx2

Truly an innocent bystander of the dysfunction she was born into. I was hoping she would be able to rise above it all after her Mom died. Very sad. RIP

    • matt n

right. two seriously drug-addicted parents who were not equipped to give a child what she needs.

      • David Walker

Nevertheless, she had a father and a mother and I’m sure all the “Family” organizations and Brian and Rush and Maggie and Tony and Vladimir and Eat Da Poo Poo and on and on ad nauseum feel so good about that. Yes, goddamned right I’m being a jerk and if y’all want, delete my comment. That’s fine, but it also illustrates the stupidity of their insistence that we can’t be parents.

        • bambinoitaliano

Whats even more sickening her sorry excuse of a father Bobby Brown just fathered another child recently. Talk about individual that should not be allow to procreate.

          • TampaDink

When I read about the birth of his new daughter, about 2 weeks ago, I figured that they’d finally let this poor woman’s body go.

          • bambinoitaliano

I hope he does not get a dime from Whitney’s estate. Bobbi her daughter essentially inherited all her money and it seems there will go to Cissy Houston and Whitney’s brothers.

          • TampaDink

I agree completely. Having said that, all that Whitney earned even though it went to her daughter, means nothing to either of them now. But better it go to her mom’s biological family than her father & his many other offspring via many other women.

          • Prixator

I don’t think Bobby Brown’s other children should be denied an inheritance from their half-sister just because of Bobby Brown. Him, for sure – but not her half-siblings.

          • Ragnar Lothbrok

            I did not know this.
            Gross.

        • matt n

yes, those groups are ridiculous. fortunately, they keep on losing… at least in the West. losers.

        • Lumpy Gaga

Careful. Plenty of people fervently believe that WH was One of Us. And if that was heretofore only discreetly whispered in polite circles, the shouting is about to begin.

        • Ninja0980

Indeed it does but you will never hear the bigots acknowledge that from the Family groups.

  • fuzzybits

This was expected, but still sad. I hope we don’t hear about her family fighting over money. RIP Bobbi.

    • Lumpy Gaga

I share your hope, but there’s no way this pack of jackals won’t fight each other to the last dime of the estate.

  • e jerry powell

Somehow it doesn’t even seem as though she should be even that old.

    Prayers.

That is so true. Brings to mind “Action speaks louder than words.”

    • matt n

      ouch. that’s insightful

      I grew up with-
      ”Children never listen,
but they watch everything you do”
      to think my Granny plagiarized
      “The Invisible Man”.
I never saw her read anything
more complicated than a bingo card.

“Careful the things you say children will listen.
Careful the things you do, children will see and learn”

You must have had wonderful things
to listen and learn from as a child,

  • Reality.Bites

I’m not familiar with the details. Does anyone know if there was ever any hope for recovery, or if she was kept “alive” for almost six months?

    • Schlukitz
    • bambinoitaliano

Yup She was dead like 6 months ago. I suppose being a young girl, no one at her age would have thought she require a living will that state DNR. She was at the mercy of whoever keeping her on the machine for that long.

    • uhhuhh

She’s been effectively dead from the start. These morons have been abusing her body for months because of their idiotic evangelical religion.

  • TampaZeke

So very sad. It’s like the tragedy of Whitney had a second heartbreaking act.

    Rest in peace Bobbi.

    • Capritaur

Remeber her Same Script, Different Cast with Deborah Cox?

  • bryan

Another example that not every child is helped by being raised by their birth parents. RIP young lady.

    • bambinoitaliano

Not when drugs are a staple in a household.

  • gewaite

Could the Brown family just forget about tubs and shower from now on? This full immersion thing is clearly not worth it for them.

  • johncAtl

So sad. And too similar to her mother’s death. Too bad for both that her mother ever met Bobby Brown.

    • Lumpy Gaga

Actually, IIRC (I should consult the TMZ archives), didn’t she opt to go home and rest after a car accident, rather than go to the hospital?

  • Dale

“She is finally at peace in the arms of God”

Forgive me. No, she is worm food, under the guidance of the infamous “one man one woman” “marriage.”

    I survived that “institution.”

    • David From Canada

Don’t use a child’s tragic death to express your own cynical viewpoints.

      • leastyebejudged

        22 is a child ? Since when ?

        • Lumpy Gaga

Well, since I turned 52, for one.

And probably some time before that.

      • Mythical Delusions

        Don’t mistake realism for cynicism.

      • Lumpy Gaga

Two dead bodies on Mama “I love Jeebus” Cissy’s hands kinda merits a 2nd look, no?

  • David From Canada

This is further proof that it is often difficult being the child of a famous celebrity. Adrift in life with all the problems that money can buy.
Yet another sad tragedy for the Houston/Brown family.
If you are an average, everyday person – not famous- consider yourself very lucky.

    • bambinoitaliano

Same with children celebrities. It’s not even the best environment for adults. All the glamour and glitz are just for show in the entertainment business. Most insecure individuals that are addicted to attention, sex, drugs, fame and fortune. It’s an emotional abusive environment.

    • Pete N SFO

More accurately, it reinforces that the disease of addiction wants you dead. The child of two addicts, she was hard-wired for addiction herself. I feel bad b/c she really didn’t have a chance. Celebrity had the least to do with it.

  • MDB

May you rest in peace with your beloved mother, your earthly pain is now finally over; and may angels sweetly sing thee to thy rest.

    • JDM

Oh Jesus Christ. It’s Whitney Houston’s daughter, not the fucking Queen of England. All this faux care and tenderness is gag-inducing.

      • DaddyRay

It is sad and tragic, she was only 22 years old and lived through some things no one that age should have to. Have a little empathy and if you can’t manage that then maybe log off and take a break

He’s an asswipe bigot. Don’t waste your time thinking otherwise.

        • JDM

Do you spill as many fake tears over the dozens of other 20-something drug addicts who die every day?

      • MDB

JDM: ” …And if you’d care to familiarize with this thread, and others, you’d realize “being quick to attack persons instead of opinions” is hardly true of just me.”
        ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
It is somewhat sad that you appear to have difficulty with others’ simple expressions of empathy and compassion. I, for one, am glad that I do not need your validation.

        • zhera

JDM’s only reason for being here is to provoke and troll. I’ve decided to ignore him and his pathetic display of Angry Young Man.

          • JDM

            Go suck a dick.

        • JDM

No one wants your feigned empathy and compassion.

      • Lumpy Gaga

And we should care more about the Queen of England’s demise than Whitney Houston’s daughter’s why, now?

        • JCF

Now, now, it’s not a contest. Liz helped keep the jeeps running while the army was fighting Hitler (and 70 years later, she did sign onto the marriage equality law!)

          • Reality.Bites

She had no option about signing the marriage law. She’d also have signed one banning it.

        • JT

Because he’s a conservatoid and they are concerned only with certain classes of people.

        • JDM

Because it’s embarrassing when the only reason you’re famous is because of the family you’re born into.

I love this piece so very much (and I’ll be singing it for All Saints Day in November!). Thanks, MDB.

      • KQCA

JCF, do you sing in a chorus?

        • JCF

Choir. St Michael’s Episcopal Church, Carmichael CA
          http://www.stmichaelscarmichael.org/

          • KQCA

Beautiful place, Carmichael. Wow…checked out the website.. Your director is quite accomplished. No wonder you all are taking on challenging works. Great info, thanks. 🙂

          • JCF

Eh, Carmichael’s OK. It’s the burbs (though far dryer than normal, what w/ the drought). The Sacramento area’s greatest claim to fame will ALWAYS be “it’s accessible to [SF Bay Area, Sierra, Pacific Ocean, Gold Country, Wine Country, Reno-Tahoe]”

…but to me, it’s home (as is St Mike’s. Yes, we do have a very accomplished choir director ::cracks whip!:: ;-p and organist). If you’re ever in the area KTCA (et al), please come visit us!

          • KQCA

            Will do!

  • Leo

Nick Gordon’s investigation needs to be thorough and transparent. The coincidences and circumstances of this case are BEYOND suspect.

  • popebuck1

    Aaaaaand cue the tastelessness.

  • Rebecca Gardner

So sad. Still just a child. Never had a chance to experience all the beauty of life. My deepest condolences.

  • uhhuhh

Please, the poor girl has been effectively dead from the start. This just means they finally stopped abusing her body because of their ignorant religion.

    • Platos_Redhaired_Stepchild

Not for religion. For money. They decided to let her go when they realized there wasn’t going to be much left after the hospital bills were paid.

  • JCF

What a sad, doomed life. RIP. [If I were ever heartless enough to have an enemies list, I’d be sure to forward it to Bobby Brown.]

  • KQCA

If only we could learn the many lessons in these tragedies, including the realization that aging is a wonderful gift and a tremendous privilege.

Thoughts and condolences to that family who, no doubt, did everything within their power to rescue this beautiful soul.

  • THEBEARCUB

Lord Jesus all these negative opinions on this young woman and her family. We Always have an opinion but no one should have an opinion on LGBTQ’s without persecution? Can’t anyone simply say REST IN PEACE?

    • uhhuhh

Nope, nobody spews anti-gay bigotry without getting challenged for it. If that offends you, get therapy.

I happen to think poking, prodding, and pumping her dead body for months because Bobby Brown and Cissy Houston are Jesus imbeciles was disgusting. Sorry if I’m not playing along with their idiot script and pretending that she just now died.

Whitney Houston might still be alive today, in fact, if that fucking bigot of a mother had respected her for who she really was.

      • ChitownKev

Bobby Brown is many kinds of a freak but him being a Jesus Freak is a new one.

        • uhhuhh

Then you need to read the coverage of his absurd refusal to make mature medical decisions in this case because Jeebus.

          • ChitownKev

Uh, I’m sorry, I don a fuck what even Bobby Brown says, he is NOT a Jesus Freak…not with all of those damn kids of his.

          • uhhuhh

            😉

      • THEBEARCUB

Therapy? Fuck is your issue then again NEVERMIND!

        • uhhuhh

Go lock arms with your Christian bigot friends and wail about how gays “persecute” them by not submitting to their bigotry.

Here are other groups that I apparently “persecute:” white racists, anti-Semites, misogynists, and anti-immigrant bigots.

  • MrRobotoLA

Terribly sad news. This poor girl never had a chance

That said, I hope I never hear another word about her family again for the rest of my days. Sadly, I know that will likely not be so.

  • Ninja0980

She never had a chance with the sorry excuse for parents she had.
May she find the peace in death she never was able to in life.

  • Baltimatt

    RIP

Just yesterday one of my son’s friends, who is 22, was fretting about turning 23. (And this is not the first time I’ve heard that from him.) Bobbi won’t have to worry about that.

(I dug up Five for Fighting’s 100 Years and played it for him.)

  • ATL

Back in the day, I watched one episode of “Being Bobby Brown” and was so sickened by the obvious dysfunction, I never again entertained the notion of tuning in. I recall feeling immense sympathy for Bobbi Kristina just for being raised in that environment. I remember telling a friend that I predicted that some day she would write the sort of memoir of a celebrity’s child that would put “Mommy Dearest” to shame.

Such a tragic waste of a life. RIP Bobbi Kristina.
