MEXICO: Guerrero Becomes Fourth State To Legalize Same-Sex Marriage

Guerrero yesterday became the fourth Mexican state to legalize same-sex marriage. Translation from the link:

In 15 days, in Acapulco the first gay collective wedding will take place, announced Huerta Pegueros, director of the Civil Registry. With the resolution of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, that permits marriages between couples of the same sex, in Guerrero gay marriages will be official as of July 10.

Guerrero is Mexico’s 12th most populous state with 3.5M residents. Two weeks ago the northern border state of Chihuahua became the third state. All same-sex marriages are recognized nationwide.
