FRC Promotes Right Wing Phone Service

Via press release from the FRC:

Family Research Council Action has fought for more than 30 years to protect your values of Faith, Family, and Freedom. Did you know that the money you spend each month on your cell phone bill could help support our fight for these core principles? You probably are unaware of it, but today all of the major phone companies are actively supporting the liberal causes and candidates that threaten to ruin our country. Collectively they have spent almost $100 million to help elect more than 10,000 liberals to offices at the local, state, and national level. We are proud to share with you an alternative to the liberal agenda of the major phone companies. Eos Mobile was founded by conservatives, for conservatives and with the goal of supporting conservative groups and candidates. With Eos Mobile you get: A better value for your money with plans starting at $9.95/month and that are typically 10-15% lower than your liberal provider. Peace of mind knowing you are supporting the efforts of Family Research Council Action with 3% of each bill going to support our shared values.

  • Steven Leahy

Looks like “SOS” with a backwards S. That would be appropriate.

    • Todd20036

      Great minds think alike.

    • Ray Taylor

      Sink Our Ship!

  • Todd20036

I thought the logo read: “SOS Mobile”

So, all the mega-phone corporations think equality is a good, or at least profitable idea, but you are so certain that bigotry and hatred is the way to go?

    Nice business model.

    • crewman

That has to be one of the worst corporate logos I’ve seen.

      • shellback

Konservatives are not known for their design skills.

        • Dramphooey

          Sadly it involves imagination.

        • RoFaWh

Don’t waste your time in deploying rhetorical devices against the hate industry. The goobers won’t get it. Use the simplest possible language.

In this case, say “Conservatives are well known for their very poor design skills.”

        • JoeNCA

That’s what happen when you refuse to hire the gehz.

    • zhera

They are so sure that they still have the majority in society. It’s kinda funny when it leads to this kind of Failures To Be.

      • Todd20036

You’d think FRC would have learned when 4 states voted in equality and/or voted out anti gay bigotry by popular referendum back in 2012 that there is no secret anti gay silent majority.

But the haters never were big on facts.

      • RoFaWh

Quite right. How often do we see some conservative pol or preacher-man or mere hater speak and/or act as though their side constitutes a majority of the population?

Like the fundagelicals: they think nearly everybody is also a fundagelical, with the exception of a few anti-Jesus deviants.

I can’t say if this behavior is reflective of their true beliefs or merely an instance of “If I say it’s true, it will become true.”

    • JW Swift

Big telecom may pay some lip-service to the LGBT community, but AT&T and Verizon have bankrolled Rethuglican crazies (Joni Ernst and Tom Cotton) and had been supporters of the right-wing ALEC organization.

There has been a progressive alternative to this right-wing phone company for years. It’s called CREDO Mobile (www.credomobile.com). I would probably be signed-up for them if I didn’t get my mobile phone from the company that I work for.

      • TampaZeke

I use CREDO. I’ve been happy with them.

      • JamesInCA

Both Credo and, apparently, Eos are Sprint MVNOs. FWIW, HRC gives Sprint a 100 rating.

    • Doug105

Should shorten it to SS with a lighting bolt.

    • Ian

      +1 on SOS.

  • bkmn

Bad design – that logo looks like SOS.

I’ll stick with Consumer Cellular where my three lines run less than $70/month and they are based in Portland, OR, home to lots of good librels.

    • Actually, I thought it was a great logo. I looked at that, and thought, “that was designed by a conservative?” They’re not known for good design (or humor, or good analogies, or. . .), but THAT is a great logo. Except that I thought it said “205.” And you thought “SOS.” So, even when they do something right, it’s wrong!

    • CB

      More like POS

  • Steven Leahy

LOL you go to their website, ironically the first phone it suggests to sell is an iPhone, guess they missed the part about that co’s CEO being a big fag…

    • bkmn

And a long time supporter of equality.

    • Todd20036

I saw that. In fact, there isn’t a phone maker who does NOT support equality. They need to come up with their own phone, as well

      • Steven Leahy

I am sure the Russians can come up with something primitive and vaguely resembling a Jitterbug for them.

      • Robincho

Two Minute Maid cans and some string…

        • bambinoitaliano

Nope. Coca Cola owns Minute Maid. They will have to go through a long list of non gay affiliated products just to get those two cans.

          • Oh bugger, just bought the string and two Diet Cokes™

          • barracks9

Please, the phrase is “oh duggar”.

          • I stand corrected.

          • flakingnapstich

You’d HAVE to stand after spending any time with a Duggar.

          • One of the CA 36,000+

“Let Josh Duggar’s fingers do the walking…”

          • David Walker

Oooooo. You sly person, you. Love it.

    • Ian

Also…Eos? Like the Greek goddess of the dawn? Nice one being all pagan, xtians.

    • JoeNCA

They’re also completely run on Sprint’s network, and Sprint has a 100% equality rating by the HRC.
      http://thehayride.com/2013/09/to-beat-the-left-introducing-eos-mobile/

  • Todd20036

Someone needs to tell them, most haters are not very tech savvy. And most of them don’t own smart phones. Oops.

    • Joe in PA

      I’ve fallen and I can’t get up! 🙂

    • Bj Lincoln

They just hate anyone or anything smarter than them.

  • Well, until AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc. buy it out, at least.

    • Todd20036

That could happen, but then SOS would get a ton of money for their causes.

    • Reality.Bites

A company like this is a reseller, buying bulk bandwidth from one of the big companies.

So anyone using their services is helping one of those liberal phone companies profit.

And for phones, they offer the iPhone 5c.

  • Blake Jordan

    Yet another money making scheme.

  • BearEyes

so they block you from calling in to MSNBC??

  • bkmn

FRC Action, so does that mean that Josh Duggar is getting in on this too?

    • Gustav2

      Reach out and touch someone

      • Marc

        Hello to tonight’s nightmare!

      • Ginger Snap

Is it sad as I read this that I sang the Ma Bell jingle that went with this ad?

        Edit-sang

        • JW Swift

          Guess I’m sad, too.

  • Andy King

“with the goal of supporting conservative groups and candidates”? Not with the goal of providing adequate cellular service, I’m sure. Pay 10% lower bills, and get 10% the service. Their free market god will eat them alive.

    • and certainly not the goal of aiding the poor and caring for the sick and protecting the weak… Jeebus’ cell phone plan was all about supporting candidates.

  • lymis

And how long until the corruption reports start?

  • Alpha 50327

Yes, but you can only make calls to and from 1955’s Alabama.

  • TexasBoy

Wow, their plans are EXPENSIVE! And I though AT&T was high.

    • CB

That’s because they’re reselling time purchased from an established network. They have to make a profit!

  • BostonBud

When I saw the logo I saw “SS” which stuck out and thought…hmm…that’s not too smart.

    • medaka

      Yeah that’s what I saw too…

    • PLAINTOM

      They know their target audience.

  • barrixines

The logo looks like a goatse.

  • Let’s hope their phone and customer service are better than their shitty logo.

  • oikos

It should be wildly successful, just like Reaganbook.

    • Todd20036

Reaganbook was successful, and a lot of fun.
Ok, maybe not for its intended purpose, but still…

  • crewman

Incorporated in 2013 and is based in Southlake, Texas.

  • Ed Burrow

    Off topic, but..
    So could it really be?
Are we really down to the final 3?
    Today, tomorrow, Monday.
    Brace yourselves.

    • Joe in PA

      Ready Freddy!

    • Todd20036

      Nice accidental poetry!

      • TampaZeke

It almost had a haiku feel to it. Nice.

  • sherman

Yeah, because if there is one industry that opposes Republicons, it is the telecom industry.

  • Marc

Let me guess: their network piggybacks off the larger, “liberal” networks and then claims it as its own…

    • Ed Burrow

      Details smetails….

    • Oh they have to be a bandwidth reseller unless they secretly managed to buy bandwidth. But that would mean that they have terrible coverage in that case.

      • Yep, did a bit of digging and they are paying to use the Sprint network.

        • Steven Leahy

Nice job! And Sprint is highly ranked by the HRC as a place to work for LGBT people. So, the FRC likely is unknowingly contributing to LGBT causes! LOL FAIL

        • Marc

So they’re using a gay, commie network from a company that has a 100% rating from the HRC?

It’s like they WANT us to belittle them.

      • Marc

There’s a metaphor in there somewhere!

    • Steven Leahy

I was wondering if that would be the case too

  • Steven Leahy

They need to fire their business and marketing departments.

  • Gigi

    Imagine the customer service.

    • Ed Burrow

      Pray for lower prices…

      • Gigi

        Pray for better customer service.

      • Ginger Snap

Having trouble with dropped calls now you can get better service direct from god. Pray away bad service with SOS Cellular. This is too funny.

    • sherman

      Imagined.

      • Gigi

        Too happy.

  • ben

    The progressives tried this first:
    http://www.credomobile.com

    • sherman

Credo is upfront saying they support progressive causes, they don’t whine that everyone else is trying to ruin the country.

But yeah, thanks for giving Credo a plug.

  • Ginger Snap

I guess they don’t know that the towers that transmit the data are owned by those liberal companies. Maybe they just completed putting up towers nationwide and are now functioning on there own. Haaaaaaaaa, this is so damn funny and another obvious scam to fleece the flock.

    • I did some looking, they are on the Sprint network, so they are paying the “liberal” companies for you.

      • Steven Leahy

        Hahahahahahahaha

  • my “liberal provider?”

i guess i missed that box when i was signing up for service. was there an option for a radical provider? a socialist provider? i’d like one of those, please.

  • Larry in Oklahoma

Like so many here, I saw it as SOS. Is it supposed to be 205? OK, so only 3% goes to FRC. Where does the remaining 97% go?

    • DavidAZ

I thought it said POS Mobile. But then I’m dyslexic so what do I know.

      • JW Swift

Dyslexics of the world — UNTIE!

      • 2patricius2

It’s actually SAP Mobile. People are saps for using it.

  • “…elect more than 10,000 liberals to offices at the local, state, and national level..” – WHAT?! you mean we actually have more than one party with candidates actually allowed to run and get elected to office? you mean we don’t have just one ruling fascist Christian party? Tony, I learn so much ftom you!

  • Gigi

I contacted their customer care department via e-mail, using verbiage I’ve learned over at the Christian Post:

    Good day,

I heard about your company after getting an FRC update in my e-mail today, but when I went to your website I noticed that the first phone available is an iPhone. The CEO of Apple is a fag and most of the other phone companies are fag enablers. Don’t you have any non-fag phones?

    God bless,
    J.D. Simpson

    • PLAINTOM

You are evil, come lay beside me.

    • Ian

Does “fag enablers” take a hyphen?

Edit: I’ve seen in both ways and the AFA style guide says one thing and FRC another.

      • David Walker

Fag enablers take anything they can get. /snark

      • JoeNCA

Going against the politically correct free speech haters in academia, fag-haters takes the hyphen so hard.

    • Dave Babler

      Did they reply?

      • Gigi

        No.

    • teedofftaxpayer

I really don’ t think there are too many phones they can buy. But these right wing dimwits will still use their Iphones

  • Steven Leahy

I wish I were a Sprint employee right now. I’d call the FRC and thank them for helping pay for my partner’s health insurance.

  • PhillyProfessor

    Eos. For the conservative POS.

  • Cosmo Tupper

    Dear FRC,
    Get a REAL job!

  • Richard Rush

I feel confident that AFA will show consistency by calling for a boycott of Eos Mobile until they decide to “remain neutral in the culture war.”

  • Mark

You suppose it has a heavenly father hot button? Push once for Jeebus, two for god himself. (Charges of $8.95 per call apply. He doesn’t answer prayers for nothing!)

    • Ragnar Lothbrok

Your estimated wait time is : 2000 years

  • DaddyRay

It comes with a preinstalled boycott app reminding you not to use the phone you just bought because it was made by Apple with a gay CEO

    • barracks9

The only other app available is ReaganBook, or whatever it’s called now.

      • Mark

        Un-memory Lane.

      • DaddyRay

Is that a call tree app

  • cjs

So, they’re trying to give Consumer Cellular a run for their money?

  • DaddyRay

To use the phone you have to install the Rotary Phone App so you can make your calls 1950’s style

    • Mark

I wonder how many have no idea what this is ? ? ? 🙂 And where is the pencil with the ball thingy on it?

      • vorpal

37 here, and while I only used a rotary phone for the first seven years of my life, they still feature prominently in my dreams – nightmares, usually.

    • TampaZeke

Since the ideas and causes they support come right out of the 1950’s, it makes perfect sense that the people who support them would prefer a rotary dial.

      Nice one.

    • Oh’behr

Is it a party line? (shared service line). My grandmother had one of those when she lived in rural Minnesota in the 1950s and early 1960s.

      • RoFaWh

I had one here in BC in the 1970s. The phone complany of the day, BC Tel, was in love with wholly obsolete technology.

  • Michael Rush

let your duggar finger do the walking .

  • CB

This is such a crock. They buy time and space from a major service at a low cost and package it. In this case, they’re using the Sprint network, so this grift-o-magic structure is trying to make a profit off of reselling liberal air time with a different wrapper. This is a marketing ploy from the 1980s, but not surprised that FRC is 30 years out of date. BTW, it failed back then, too. And this reseller is on the hook for what they contracted for…even if they don’t sell a single line. Plus, suckers get no customer service. As my mother used to say, “A fool and his money are soon parted.”

    • JustSayin

Cb, can you provide a link showing the Sprint connection? Their website does not show the upstream provider clearly anywhere I can find and that coverage map is mor like Verizon than Sprint…

  • BaddogLtd

The latest in faith based cell tower technology. Remember, Jesus died so you wouldn’t have to use a homo phone. http://beforeitsnews.com/mediadrop/uploads/2013/40/8d29bff72cd75340bdc945937f549c36ccb26833.jpg

  • Drew2U

Sure, but calls to God still get hit with roaming charges.

  • delk

I just erased a hateful Duggar comment before I hit post.

  • TampaZeke

You can offset this company by placing your smart phone service with CREDO, a cell phone service company that supports progressive causes.

    http://www.credomobile.com

    • SockMikey

Which piggybacks on the same carrier (Sprint) as does EOS Mobile… 🙂 🙂

  • Queequeg

One tech company they can support. Now they no longer have to use tin cans and strings. What operating system would their smart phones use? It can’t be Android or iOS, since both Google and Apple support equality.

  • “…today all of the major phone companies are actively supporting the liberal causes and candidates that threaten to ruin our country.”

  • BobSF_94117

Collectively they have spent almost $100 million to help elect more than 10,000 liberals to offices
I assume their donations to the GOP exceeded those made to Democrats.

  • KnownDonorDad

Introducing Duggar Mobile! Try our family plan, perfect for little girls!

  • JustSayin

The fundies won’t be happy when they figure out porn is not allowed on the network and that the terms of service prevent them from suing over eos filtering their mail and texts on an individual basis.

  • Roger

I think this is a brilliant idea which we should support, and I hope all those like-minded bigots and their friends all sign-up with multi-year contracts… then if that works, I would like to volunteer to fund/lead the effort to develop the blocking software that would make sure I never received a phone call from anyone using an Eos number or that I never placed a call to someone using an Eos number without first getting a warning. And we should have lots of options as to what that warning says and how it sounds… I think the voice of Geraldine-the-Operator with some sarcasm would do nicely.., or Harvey Fierstein saying something like “you should be ashamed of yourself”..

  • Arkansan

I wonder what happens if you dial 666 on their plan?

    • You hear recorded messages from Pat Robinson.

  • parachihuahua

AND, they “partner with national networks,” which I figured they had to do because they didn’t build any of those towers. So, they will pay AT&T, Verizon and Sprint money to lease bandwidth. Almost a talk/text three card monty for bigots.

    • SockMikey

They have links that specifically berate AT&T & Verizon for their support of abortion, but piggyback on the same carrier as CREDO (which donates to planned parenthood) via Sprint.

      • parachihuahua

Funny how that works, no? And their customer service is closed on the weekend… not a gimmick, though…

  • Orly

Ah, FRC’s new money making endeavour. I’m sure it’ll be really successful.
    /eyeroll

Now excuse me while I go to the store to buy some liberal milk. It’s a milk made by liberals, for liberals.

  • SockMikey

    Some stuff…

    Why we started EOS Mobile
    http://eoscell.com/why-we-started-eos-mobile/

Chris Wilson (Currently on Ted Cruz’s Campaign)
    https://twitter.com/wilsonwpa

    Chris Wilson: @TedCruz for President – Director of Research & Analytics, @WPAResearch – CEO, @EosMobile –

Chris Wilson, our founder, is a long time conservative activist. He has worked on a number of high profile campaigns for local, state, and federal campaigns, including those of Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Allen West, and others.

Chris began to mention this “phone company” to conservative groups he worked with in Washington DC. Groups like the NRA, Heritage Foundation, Susan B. Anthony List, American Conservatives Union, Family Research Council and others. The general response from these groups was that this small business in California was having an impact in favor of the liberals that was unmatched by conservatives.

    1. Eos is on Sprint
    http://thehayride.com/2013/09/to-beat-the-left-introducing-eos-mobile/

Eos’ cell service rides through Sprint, just like CREDO’s does. Sprint won’t drop Eos while they’re carrying CREDO; they couldn’t do that without a colossal backlash. And with Sprint’s backbone your cell service from Eos will be that of a major carrier – over 280 million Americans are covered by Sprint’s network.

    CREDO
    http://www.lifenews.com/2014/12/30/this-cellphone-company-is-donating-hundreds-of-thousands-to-planned-parenthood/

CREDO siphons hundreds of thousands into Planned Parenthood annually. In 2013, Planned Parenthood received $158,408 from CREDO. This year, the month that the Roe v. Wade SCOTUS decision saw its 41st anniversary (January), CREDO donated over $80,000 to the abortion group.

    2. EOS mobile is named after Eos, a foreign goddess.

    Gasp! – Foreign Gods!

The dawn greek goddess Eos was almost always described with rosy fingers or rosy forearms as she opened the gates of heaven for the Sun to rise. Eos is the daughter of Hyperion, a bringer of light, the One Above, Who Travels High Above the Earth and of Theia, The Divine.

    3. Eos Mobile makes a big deal of ATT & Verizon supporting abortion, but neglect to mention Sprint, which also has supported abortion thru Credo and other donations.

    http://eoscell.com/att-and-abortion/

Sprint Donations (spreads around it’s political contributions)
    http://www.followthemoney.org/entity-details?eid=2446

    4. But so does Sprint which also carries CREDO!? 🙂 🙂

    https://saynsumthn.wordpress.com/2014/05/29/sprint-partners-with-progressive-mobile-phone-company-which-funds-planned-parenthood-and-promotes-abortion/

Eos’ cell service rides through Sprint, just like CREDO’s does. Sprint won’t drop Eos while they’re carrying CREDO; they couldn’t do that without a colossal backlash. Perhaps they could get FOX News to start up a telephone service for them but then they would have FOX recording all their calls and putting the information in one of their newspaper.
